Chapter 2 Quadratic Functions

This document provides information about quadratic functions and equations. It discusses: - The general form of a quadratic equation as ax2 + bx + c = 0. - Methods for solving quadratic equations including factorization, completing the square, and using the quadratic formula. - Types of roots including real/imaginary, equal/distinct roots. - The vertex form of a quadratic function as f(x) = a(x-h)2 + k and how changing a, b, and c affects the shape and position of the graph. - Sketching the graph of quadratic functions by determining the vertex and axis of symmetry from the vertex form.

(i) x is unknown
(ii) a, b and c is constant
(iii) a ≠ 0
(iv)The powers of x are positive integers up to a maximum
value of 2.

2. Roots are the value of the unknown that satisfy the

equation.
WAYS TO SOLVE QUADRATIC EQUATIONS
1. Factorization method
2. Completing the square method
3. By using formula

SOLVE THE QUADRATIC EQUATION
