SARAH Z. DUTERTE
Vice President of the Philippines
Secretary of the Department of Education

My warmest greetings to the Class of 2023 for the successful culmination of your academic endeavors.
This milestone attests to the hard work and perseverance you have exemplified as you embark on another journey
leading you to the realization of your aspirations of a better life and a better future. I join your families and
academic communities in celebrating this achievement.

We recognize their valuable role in your growth and development as well-rounded individuals — preparing you
to face the demands of higher learning or navigate the complexity of life as successful professionals.
I am with you in forging a path toward progress even as you continue to live by the tenets that have guided you in
your academic training and inspired you to pursue excellence as young leaders.

May the knowledge and skills you have gained serve as your springboard for greater success and inspire you to
become catalysts of transformative social growth within your respective communities.
I hope you will realize the depth of your potential and the power that you now possess as young educated
Filipinos — and use this not only to achieve your dreams and change your lives for the better, but also help our
fellow Filipinos and our country.

As future leaders and builders of our nation, may you become persistent, determined, and committed to the fight
for peace, security and stability, the ending of poverty, the campaign to give Filipino children access to basic
education, the protection of the environment, the promotion of health and nutrition, and many other challenges
that we are facing today.

Consistent with our vision in the MATATAG agenda, we will continue to promote programs and uphold reforms
that will nurture resilient mindsets so that we can hone young Filipinos. The grit and resilience of Filipino
learners amid the difficulties of everyday life will continue to inspire us and empower us in building an education
system that responds to the changes of our time.

Through an inclusive education that is forged by a positive learning environment, I am optimistic that we can
continue to produce competent young citizens like you who will help steer our nation’s path to sustainable
development.

Let this milestone remind us of the indispensable role of education in charting the course of our youth’s future
and in harnessing their potential to become outstanding individuals.
This year’s graduates have done a great job of channeling their passions into endeavors that will enrich their
pursuits and advance their respective vocations and professions.

As you move into the next chapter of education and leave the halls of your alma mater, it is my hope that you will
unceasingly work hard to become active stakeholders in our nation-building efforts. Together with our academic
partners in all education levels, let us remain committed to promoting our youth’s
strong sense of nationalism so they can be part of a productive and responsible citizenry
that will help chart the path of our nation’s growth.

Again, congratulation to the Class of 2023! May you continue to pursue your
ambitions with zeal, persistence, and excellence and use it to create a better future for
all.

Sama-sama tayong magsumikap abutin ang ating layunin: Bansang makabata,

batang makabansa.
Lahat- para sa Diyos, bayan, at pamilyang Pilipino.
While in usual contexts, resilience is characterized, in essence, as a result and a depiction
of one’s unwavering behavior toward any challenges, for this school year’s milestones, I would like to
conclude it with some of the reflections on resilience which I have chanced upon as Regional Director. This
time, I want to explore on perspective shifting and encourage all learners, teachers, and even our internal and
external stakeholders to allow resilience as a natural occurrence in their lives; and that its existence can
originate from a self-sustained perseverance overcoming and weathering the odds of not just in education,
but in all of life’s tribulations. Resilience need not be an aim meant to be clutched upon but a luxury meant
to be available for everyone who seeks to delight in the favors of his feats. It must also be voluntary,
possessed with the willingness and convenience to dispatch one’s strategies and translate them into results
and hence claim, that success has touched down. To simply put, resilience must be everyone’s way of life.

With this exploration on resilience, we can then commence in attributing how our dear graduates and
completers have been molded through a resilient educational foundation. Our education in the department
has gone beyond the concepts of teaching what resilience is, and hence explored on how resilience must be
for our learners. From the nightmares of the pandemic and now onto our journey in living alongside the
realities of Covid-19, DepEd has focused on the development of a learner’s ability to cope in varying
situations employing techniques that are more realistic and applicable to real life situations. Its approach is
going far more sensitive
to the needs of the 21st century learners because it has consistently lived up to its intentions to make their
learning experiences more valid, more natural and therefore, lifelong.
By this time, the pavements have been weaved completely, ensuring you a smooth shift in your next journey
because your feats are just about to happen. Always remember that the resilience in you is what shall sustain
you in your crafts, in your dreams and in your ambitions in life. Hats off to our dear graduates and
completers of School Year 2022-2023!

SALUSTIANO T. JIMENEZ EdD, JD, CESO IV

Director IV
Regional Director
OFFICE OF THE SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT
MESSAGE

Graduations are certainly big milestones be it for parents, teachers,

school administration, or the community. This kind of achievement is most
significant to the promising members of society, the young blood of today’s
generation.

Our graduates have been beset with insurmountable challenges

that confronted them on their way to this success. The pressure has been
great as you, dear graduates have reverted back to face-to-face formal
instruction after the hiatus brought on by the pandemic. Admittedly, the
school, the department, the community, and the men and women of
DepEd have stood their ground in being steadfast to the commitment of
leading society to survival and progress by providing education even with
the slightest hope or possibility.

That is the true essence of education. Education is the key to that

needed change and progress amid the present and future demands. In
line with the goals of DepEd’s MATATAG Agenda, we teach the learners to
cultivate their knowledge and skills to be ready for real-life challenges.
Education desires to shape our learners’ mindset and attributes for them
to make a more humane and dignified Filipino character. We provide
opportunities for them to manifest transformative and inspirational
leadership to build a more resilient, trustworthy, and self-sufficient
society for the future of our nation.

Graduates, now that the path has been laid for you to strive, you
must take on the challenge to uphold the expectations for your
development and achievement in your personal growth and future career.
You must manifest the right mindset and right attitude in dealing with
others and in attaining your goals. Most of all, be the best child, the
achiever, the most reliable friend, the respectful neighbor, and the most
responsible citizen we can ever have today and tomorrow.

To all of us upon whose hands the education of our young Filipinos

is entrusted, let us all join hands in fulfilling our duties to the young
generation. Let us give them a loving family, a wonderful relationship, a
fruitful experience, and a safe environment so that we can contribute to
the fulfillment of their aspiration of becoming citizens whose values and
competencies enable them to realize their full potential so that they can
contribute meaningfully in nation building.

To our graduates for SY 2022-2023, be the light of others.

Be the hope this nation dreams of. Best of Luck. Godspeed.
Congratulations!
Mabuhay!

Graduation Song

WE WON OUR FIGHT

Leslyn Palad
YOU ARE THE REASON Turn up the volume, we can’t hear
Sylvia Wolng Never thought we’ve be standing here
We’re searching altogether,
When I was lonely you were with me Struggling together side by side
When I was silent you spoke up for me Thought we’d never make it,
We cried., We messed up but fought our way back
When I gave up you gave me strength to stay now.. We’re stronger………

When I faltered you cheered me on You’ve guided our way,

When I doubted you believe in me Taught us to take risks in everything we make,
You’ve made us stay,
I was lost before you showed the way
And now we’re brave facing our future
And I’ll always remember CHORUS
The things that you said. Here we are, standing tall
And I followed my dreams where they led With our heads held high,
We gave it all through the day and through
It was you, The night, we picked ourselves,
We won the fight.
You are the reason I’m here today
I followed my heart just like you As we look bak on times we had
You changed my life and I want to say We never thought we’d get this far
My world is much brighter with you through the bad
Through the good times we felt the best
We gave our all and fought so hard
You believe in me and told me
Everyday your actions showed me With our dreams, and goals in sight
You don’t know how much that meant to me Hand and hand we will strive
You picked me up when I fell through the We’ve come so far, from where we are
cracks Our future now is shining bright
Gave me hope, despite how odds were Bridge:
stacked. Cause we stand together and we won’t give up
I stood tall because you had my back Yeah we worked hard together
And we can have it all,
And I’ll always remember the things you said. I can be what I want to be
You can be what you want be
And I followed my dreams where thy led
We can be what we want to be
We will be, we will be
It was you, You are the reason I’m here today We picked ourselves, we won our fight
I followed my heart just like you
You changed my life and I want to say
My world is much brighter with you
Alma Mater Song

Composer: Dr. Nicodemo M. Ponce

Sleepless nights were spent to burn night candles

So many tough rivers and road to cross
So many miles, mountains and hills to walk through
The days are gone of unspoken sorrows

Chorus
Onward Alma Mater dear and great
You give us hope to face life’s challenges
We cherish and promise to uphold your name
MULAO our school, a treasure so dear

As we look around us, beholding the wonders of your love

Imparting us with knowledge and wisdom from Above
Through the mentors so kind and understanding
Who shared us love, courage and perseverance

As we begin to step another milestone

We swear to use the values through the years
Your memories will linger in our hearts and thoughts
As we continue this long journey in life

Beloved parents, we thank you for your loving care

Countless efforts, hardships, burdens, and tears
You desire our love and gratitude
We salute you and we are proud of you
