Aim – To create a slideshow presentation for a seminar using MS Powerpoint.
Procedure: 1. Launch Microsoft Powerpoint on your computer and click on ‘New’ under the File tab to start creating slides. You can begin by setting a theme that suits your content by choosing from the different themes and designs available under the ‘Design’ tab. 2. Click ‘New slide’ under the Home tab to add a blank slide. Use the small downward arrow in the New slide icon to choose the layout of the slide according to your requirement and type in the content. 3. You can also right-click in the slide pane and select ‘New slide’. Repeat this process to create all the slides you need for the presentation. 4. To Insert images, charts, shapes etc use the respective icon under the ‘Insert’ tab. 5. You can reorder the slides by clicking and dragging them to the desired position in the slide pane on the left. To delete a slide, right click on it and select ‘Delete slide’. 6. Once you’ve created the necessary slides click on the ‘Slide show’ button in the bottom right corner to preview the slides. You can also press F5 for the same. 7. Check for errors if any and then click on ‘Save’ under the ‘File’ tab to save it in the desired location. 8. Close and Exit. Exercise No -2 Aim – To prepare organization chart in MS Powerpoint Procedure: 1. Launch Microsoft Powerpoint and open a new slide. Select the desired layout and fill up the content. 2. You can insert a organisational chart by clicking on the ‘Smart Art’ icon under the ‘Insert’ tab. In the dialog box select ‘Heirarchy’ or ‘Organisational Chart’ category and choose the desired layout and click ok 3. A Blank SmartArt graphic will be inserted into your slide. Click inside the shapes and boxes to type the content. 4. You can use the “promote’ and ‘demote’ buttons to move the shapes up or down the hierarchy. Click on the ‘Add shape’ button available in the SmartArt design tab to add additional boxes. 5. Customise the chart using the options available under the ‘SmartArt Design and SmartArt Format’ tabs . 6. Once you’ve created the necessary slides click on the ‘Slide show’ button in the bottom right corner to preview the slides. You can also press F5 for the same. 7. Save, close exit Exercise No 3 Aim – To create a slideshow with different transition effects using MS Powerpoint. Procedure: 1. Launch Microsoft Powerpoint and open a new slide. Create necessary number of slides to cover the content in the required layout. 2. To add transition effect click on the ‘Transition’ tab and choose the preferred effect to apply between the slides. 3. You can preview the effect by clicking on a slide. Then adjust the transition duration and add sound effects if needed using the icons provided in the Transitions tab. 4. To add animations to the elements within the slide, first select the element and click on the animation effect available in the ‘Animations’ tab. Customise it according to your need with the options provided in the tab. 5. Once all the transition effect and animations are applied, you can preview the effects by selecting ‘Slide show’ or pressing F5. 6. Save, close, exit Exercise No 4 Aim – To create a slideshow to display percentage of marks in each semester for students Procedure: 1. Launch Microsoft Powerpoint on your computer and click on ‘New’ under the File tab to start creating slides. 2. Select the ‘two content’ layout to present the marks in the tabular format and chart side by side. 3. Click on the insert table icon and insert chart icon under the respective slide and fill up the details. You can customise the table as well as chart design using the format tabs that appear when you select the table or chart. 4. You can also add animations effects for the charts and tables and sound effect if any. 5. Once completed, preview your results. Then Save the presentation in the appropriate destination using the short cut Ctrl+S or by clicking on the Save button under the File tab 6. Close and exit.
