W1314A Multi-band Wireless Measurement Receiver
2
The built-in GPS and USB hub provide the ideal tool for drive-testing networks, both
outdoors and indoors. The W1314A measurement receiver delivers unparalleled
multi-technology measurement capabilities for wireless network optimization and
troubleshooting.
The following technologies are covered across the range of W1314A receivers: LTE,
UMTS, GSM, cdma2000, 1xEVDO, iDEN, Mobile WiMAX, and Generic Spectrum
Analyzer/CW.
The RF front-end of the W1314A measurement receiver uses discrete preselectors
to ensure the greatest possible accuracy of measurement results. Models have been
created to meet the coverage needs of each market, as well as two global receiver
options that support all LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD bands.
The W1314A measurement receiver family covers a comprehensive range of RF
bands.
a. Depending on the RF band (center frequency and bandwidth) multiple preselectors may be required to provide
complete band coverage.
Receiver power distribution Module The power distribution module (PDM) provides power from the vehicle’s battery to a
(Option 050) single or to multiple receivers.
Specifications:
• Supports up to four W1314A multiband receivers
• Fused outputs (user replaceable, one for each receiver)
• Reverse power protected
• Input voltage range: 12 to 18 VDC
• Under voltage detection threshold: 12.0 volts
• Maximum current output: 4 amps/receiver (16 amps total)
• Maximum current draw: 17 amps
• Ignition sense line support
W1314A Multi-band Wireless Measurement Receiver
Enhanced high-sensitivity GPS The high-sensitivity GPS provides improved position reporting information
(Now standard on all models) even in the most challenging environments ,from dense urban canyons to tunnels
and underground locations. This option improves the quality of the reported
measurement data and reduces instances of gaps in the reported position.
Indoor solution (Option 070) The indoor option provides an accurate timing module and power supplies that
integrates with the W1314A receiver to ensure maintenance of measurement
synchronization throughout the entire indoor test.
Using the E6474A Wireless Network Optimization application, users can quickly
load floor plans and, with the synchronized receiver, easily collect and record a
comprehensive range of measurements throughout a variety of indoor environments,
for example malls, airports, train stations, and convention centers.

Receiver technology The following table lists the technologies covered using two-band receivers.
two-band receivers To use the table, select the receiver option that best fits your testing needs.
Technologies listed are provided for reference. The receivers can measure any
technology in any of their supported frequency bands, provided users have the
appropriate technology measurement license.
For example, if users require testing both GSM and UMTS networks daily, and you
have both 850 and 1900 bands, then choosing receiver option 113 would be the best
receiver option for this scenario.
