At the point when characterized inside an educational setting, test,

assessment, measurement, and evaluation are completely used to quantify
the amount of the appointed materials learners are dominating or
mastering, how well learners are learning the materials, and how well
learners are meeting the expressed objectives and goals. Despite the fact
that you may believe that assessments just furnish teachers with data on
which to base a score or grade, assessments likewise assist you with
surveying your own learning.

A test is used to examine someone's knowledge of something to determine

what he or she knows or has learned. Testing measures the level of skill or
knowledge that has been reached.

Assessment is the process of documenting knowledge, skills, attitudes and

beliefs, usually in measurable terms. The goal of assessment is to make
improvements, as opposed to simply being judged. In an educational
context, assessment is the process of describing, collecting, recording,
scoring, and interpreting information about learning in line with the
definition of Spandel and Stiggins 1990 of assessment that it is the act of
gathering information on a daily basis in order to understand individual
student’s learning and needs. This term further refers to a wide variety of
methods and measurement tools used for multiple purposes such as
assessment of learning, assessment for learning and assessment as
learning.

Measurement is simply referred as the process assigning numbers or

symbols to objects for characterizing things according to set of rules.
Furthermore, it helps to quantify individual’s achievement, personality,
attitudes, habits and skills or in a sense measurement simply involves
quantification of observable phenomena and it is performed on the physical
world by observer.

Evaluation, according to Douglas 2000, Lynch 2003, is the judgment made

about a test taker’s ability, knowledge or intelligence, based on his or her
test performance. This simply means that evaluation is the culminating act
of interpreting the information gathered for the purpose of making decisions
or judgments about student’s learning and needs, often at reporting time.
