INTRODUCTION

In the present world, the demand for energy is increasing day by day.
Sooner or later, it will be much higher than the present condition. So,
the world is now heading towards renewable energy leaving behind
fossil fuels energy for their harmful effects on environment. As solar
energy is renewable and less harmful to the environment, it is
gradually taking the place of fuels. To make the optimum use of solar
power we took the initiative to work on our project. Our solar power
hybrid car uses solar panel and batteries instead of using fossil fuels.
So, it can be considered as a fully eco-friendly vehicle which is the
crying need of present situation of the world.
By considering these things, we have made my solar vehicle which is
more effective and efficient for regular transportation uses. Hopefully
solar powered Electric car will be able to replace the fuel vehicles and
will play a major role in creating a safe and clean environment. The
motive force to a shaft by an electric motor which is run by solar
energy after some important conversion in electric vehicles instead of
an internal combustion engine which is environmental pollution free
is the basic working principle of solar powered electric vehicles.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

Looking at the rapid increase in world population and further increase

in number of circulating cars, it’s found that more than 70% of
environmental pollution is caused by cars using traditional source of
energy for power. With the climate change crises becoming a global
issue, the continuous awareness created by learning institutions,
government bodies and other stockholders have to be intensified and
implemented.
Nowadays, with the global concern for greenhouse gases and
environmental pollution, electrical vehicles are being developed in
quick paces for both private and commercial purposes. At daily use of
these cars, users have to charge the battery of the car once they run
out their battery in the charge station. It takes not short time to fully
charge their car. During charging, user cannot only use their cars but
the process creates an imbalance in power distribution in the grid.
Thus, it causes poor power factor and power net instability to other
third parties using the grid. Furthermore, some electric car owners
still face the problem of charging their electric cars in some charging
station because of incompatibility between their car batteries and the
charging stations charger. Thus, the question of how to charge electric
cars from solar energy has become an important and necessary link to
solve these environmental issues.
AIMS

 To provide a system model that can be used to brainstorm both

innovative ideas and solutions to current problems in the
research area and also to serve as eye opener for future research
design and development.
 To provide an efficient, effective and sustainable system based
on using photovoltaic as a better renewable energy source to
charge electric cars.

OBJECTIVES

 To outline a conceptual design based on how solar energy from

sun (photovoltaic energy) can be used for powering electric
vehicle motors directly during sunny hours whiles the battery
serves as a backup.
 Furthermore, we explored ways on how the PV panels will be
placed on the roof of electric vehicles, choice of the various
components to convert and channel the harnessed solar energy
to storage battery cell and motor.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
RESEARCH

• Unlike regular vehicles, solar powered Vehicles are able to

utilize their full power at any speed.
• Solar powered Vehicles do not require any expense for running.
• Solar Vehicles are quiet.
• Solar Vehicles require very low maintenance.
• A solar Vehicle produces no harmful emissions.
