 Subtotals

• Subtotal feature is used to calculate the summary rows and outline

the data in a data range.
• The data range must include headers that identify data subsets.
• The data range must be sorted by at least one column.
• The summary function can be SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE, MAX,
MIN, PRODUCT, COUNT NUMBERS, STDDEV, STDDEVP,
VAR, or VARP.

 Subtotals

• To create subtotals within a sorted data range: Select any cell in the
range (1) → tab Data (2) → Subtotal (3)→ Select the group column (4) →
select the summary function (5) → select the column to add subtotals to (6) →
OK (7) .
