    1. Overview | Gear S3 LDU

    Gear S3 Live Demo Unit operates as a standalone device.


    Without connection with a phone, customer can experience various features of Gear S3.

    2. Setup | Out-of-the-Box

    2-1. To turn on the device, press and hold the Power/Home button. Then, Booting logo is coming.
    2-2. To set the language, scroll and select your language then touch Next button.
    2-3. To set date, touch and spin the wheel then touch Next button.
    2-4. To set time, touch and spin the wheel then touch Next button.
    Date and Time should be set correctly for normal operation of your watch

    2-5. Gear S3 scans Wi-Fi AP. Please wait for a minute.


    2-6. Connect to Wi-Fi AP to get S/W update. (If you don’t have available AP, press Back button)
    2-7. To skip the tutorial, press “X” button on Gear S3

    (1) To check S/W version


    : Press Home/Power Key → Settings → Gear info → About device → Software version
    (2) To update S/W, please follow below steps.
    ① WiFi connection: Press Home/Power Key → Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi networks → Connect to available AP
    ② FOTA upgrade : After Wi-Fi connected → Settings → Gear info → Update Gear software
    3. Retail Mode application manual

    You can configure Screen timeout duration, Playtime schedule, Language, Date and time,
    Auto reset period, Service enable/disable and do Factory reset in RetailMode application.

    3-1. To enter the apps, press Power/Home key.


    3-2. Run Retail Mode application.

    (1) Screen timeout


    You can change Screen timeout duration from 15 seconds to 5 minutes.
    Screensaver will be played after configured duration of inactivity. (default: 1 minute of inactivity)

    (2) Set schedule(Start time / End time)


    You can set Playtime schedule.
    When you set Playtime schedule, Screensaver plays between setted start time and setted end time. (default: 9:00 to 22:00)

    (3) Language
    You can change Language. System language will be changed.

    (4) Date and time


    You can set Date and time.

    (5) Auto reset


    You can change Auto reset period from 1 minute to 3 hours.
    Restore all settings and customer created content in every Auto reset period. (default: 10 minutes).

    (6) Samsung Pay


    You can enable Samsung Pay demo application for Gear S3 Live Demo Unit (default : Disable)
    Do not enable this menu if your country does not service Samsung Pay for Gear S3.

    (7) Service enable


    You can can deactivate RetailMode Service.
    If you deactivate RetailMode service, Screensaver doesn’t play until you reactivate RetailMode service.

    (8) Factory reset


    You can do the Factory reset.
    If you have an unidentified device malfunction, proceed the Factory reset. (Password: M729Q16K8546)

    (9) Video clip


    You can change Screen Saver video to Global / US version. (default : Global)
    Do not change this option except US.

    • Screensaver does not play if battery level is under 15 percent. Screensaver will be restarted when battery charges over 30 percent
    or reboot the Gear S3 after charging over 15 percent
