Monogram logos (or lettermarks) Monogram logos or lettermarks are logos that consist of the letters forming an abbreviation. Look at the three examples below. (}) © @ 2. Wordmarks (or logotypes) A wordmark or logotype is a font-based logo that focuses on a business’ name alone. Unlike lettermark, wordmark is based on the font type. Arnage Google When to use lettermark and wordmark logos: Consider a lettermark logo if your business tends to have a long name. Condensing the business name into initials will help simplify your design and likewise customers will have an easier time recalling your business and your logo. Wordmark logo is a good idea if you have a business name that will stick in the customers’ minds. Having your name in a great, designed font will make your brand recognised. 3. Pictorial marks (sometimes called brand mark, logo symbols or iconic logo) A pictorial mark is an icon graphics only logo. 4 4. Abstract logo An abstract logo is a specific type of pictorial logo. Instead of being a recognizable image like an apple or lock, it is a geometric form that one can’t easily identify. =v adidas 5. Mascots Mascot logos are logos that involve an illustrated character. Often colorful, sometimes cartoonish. 6. The combination logo A combination logo is a logo comprised of a combined wordmark or lettermark and a pictorial logo, abstract logo, or mascot. The emblem An emblem logo consists of font inside a symbol or an icon. These logos tend to have a traditional appearance about them that can make a striking impact, thus they are often the go-to choice for many schools, organizations or government agencies. Simplicity: makes a logo design easily recognizable. Meaning : Make a Meaningful logo. Memorable: An effective logo design should be easily remembered. Timeless: An effective logo should have no time or date unless it of a short time project of a project the existed for several decades. Consistency: Your brand should build awareness and develop trust. Uniqueness: You can get ideas from others but don’t repeat what they did. Ill. The Creative brief Creative brief is a small document written customers who need any graphic design service. Insider a creative brief, a customer describes his/her business and then talks about the wanted design and the budget for this task. What you may include in a creative brief Company description Design project description and preferences Target audience Expect outputs and formats Budget Deadline IV. How humans view logo shapes Particular logo shapes send out particular messages: Circles, ovals and ellipses tend to project a positive emotional message. Using a circle in a logo can suggest community, friendship, love, relationships and unity. Rings have an implication of marriage and partnership, suggesting stability and durability Straight edged logo shapes such as squares and triangles suggest stability in more practical terms and can also be used to indicate balance. Straight lines and precise logo shapes also inform strength, professionalism and efficiency. It has also been suggested that triangles have a good association with power, science, religion and law.
