Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this module, learners will be able to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the use and role of business


information systems (e-business) and other recent technological trends in the modern
business environment.

2. Evaluate a variety of business models and strategies for web-based enterprises.

3. Identify current information system security threats and ethical challenges pertaining
to the use of information systems and evaluate systems security measures,
techniques and current legislation used to secure and control vital business
information.
4. Construct a series of interactive spreadsheet data analysis models to meet business
requirements, utilising project management tools to manage the activity.

5. Demonstrate practical web skills for business purposes.

Learning Activities:
Each week will consist of a number of different activities:

1. Problem solving exercises to further develop this skill and to assist in improving
creativity
2. Lecture demonstrations and interactive participation between lecturer and student
to assist in cultivating a richer learning environment.
3. Presentation of concepts and theories using slides and video.
4. Case Study exercises to consolidate learning
5. Formative assessment as a tool to encourage directed e-learning
