2 3 Evaluating Functions Operation Composition of Functions

The document covers evaluating functions by replacing values into expressions and performing operations. It provides examples of evaluating various functions by substituting values for variables and simplifying. The second part discusses operations that can be performed on functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and composition of functions.

Evaluating Function
Evaluating function is the process of determining
the value of the function at the number assigned
to a given variable. Just like in evaluating
algebraic expressions, to evaluate function you
just need to:
Step 1: Replace each letter in the expression with
the assigned value and
Step 2: Perform the operations in the expression
using the correct order of operations.
