I. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
To create an original, innovative, eye-catching, and iconic statue that will better represent
the whole DHVSU CEA Community.
To draw attention to the talented CEA Students of different year levels, to form an open
educational community for development of available public innovative and aesthetic
environment. The competition aims to create conditions for creative communication and
realization of creative potential of students in miniature model making with recycling in
mind.
To practice the students’ hands-on skills to develop confidence for their future careers.
This competition will provide opportunities for participants to experience meaningful and
challenging hands-on tasks that may foster learning, and to generate positive attitudes that
may enhance their self-confidence in their ability to make miniature models.
The competition gives students the chance to be artistic, inventive, and create an iconic
statue miniature made from recyclable or reused materials.
Integrate knowledge and skills from the students’ program of study in making a statue
miniature model and to apply aesthetic and intellectual criteria in the evaluation or creation
of works.
miniature model-making competition to be judged on April 27, 2023. This is for future and
professional architects, engineers, designers, builders, and remodelers within CEA
DHVSU that are interested in statue miniature model-making with the consideration of
recycling materials. This competition is created to also promote recycling and reuse of
materials emphasizing creativity and innovation. This aims to learn more about recycling,
responsible use of resources, and sustainable living through creative exploration
Students will create an output that effectively utilize the fundamental elements of 3D
Design especially volumes and textures in statue-miniature model making. Through their
output, students will demonstrate skills and techniques necessary for 3D Art Modelling,
including dexterity with forming, and arranging different miniature materials.
1. This contest is open to all bonafide students of DHVSU – College of Engineering and
Architecture. Only group entries are allowed.
2. To join, the group leader must fill-out the pre-registration form around April 17-21, 2023
that will be posted in the DHVSU CEASC Page.
3. Each department are required to send only one (1) group representative with four (4)
members.
4. Only one (1) entry per group will be accepted for judging.
5. The group participants shall create a CEA Iconic Statue Miniature in any sizes and using
any recycled materials/resources that are present in the surroundings.
6. The group participants may use paints, clay, spray, glue, evo bond, glitters, and other
materials available but the main material that will be recycled should only be found around
the surroundings.
7. Each group will be given Php 300.00 before the day of the competition for the budget of
the other needed materials such as the miniature base, glue, and so on.
8. The miniature shall portray or embody the whole DHVSU CEA Community and must have
an “ANT” character on it to represent the CEA Students’ hard work and productivity. It
shall complement the CEA Buildings, especially the front part.
9. The final output shall have a name title, sketch drawing, and short description that will be
put in a short vellum bond paper provided by the CEASC Officer-in-charge.
10. The statue-miniature making shall be held only on the CEA Room 101 on April 27, 2023
from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Output shall be passed the same day on or before 4:00 pm.
11. Participants may prepare all the necessary materials and props to be utilized for their entry
before the said schedule. Maximize the things available to bring. Going out of the assigned
room is not allowed.
12. The criteria for judging are as follows:
Creativity, Artistry, and Iconic Detailing - 40%
Innovation & Utilization of Recycled Materials - 25%
Interpretation & Relevance - 25%
Stability, Neatness & Overall Impact - 10%
Total of 100%
13. Winners shall be declared as First Place, Second Place, and Third Place with a cash
prizes, plaques, and certificates.
14. Failure to follow the guidelines and mechanics will be given corresponding deductions
during the judging period.
The competition will be held at CEA Room-101 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on April 27,2023 and the
outputs’ exhibition will be held at CEA Ext 1 st Floor on April 28, 2023. Announcement of Winners
is on April 28, 2023 CEA Days Awards Night.
