IS GROUP ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES

The format of the report must contain the following:

1. Cover Page
 Names of group members, followed by Student ID
2. Table of Contents
 The table of contents should contain the topic, title and reference page number attached
to each topic.
3. Main Body (2000 – 2500 words)
1.0 Introduction of the selected industry or company
 Briefly explain the selected industry or company.
2.0 Introduction of the “proposed Information System”
 What is the “proposed Information System”?
 What are the purposes or benefits of the “proposed Information System” to the
selected industry or company?
3.0 Five (5) Components of the “proposed Information System”
3.1 Data/Information
 Identify type of data used in the proposed information system.
 Explain the purpose or usage of the data in the proposed information system.
3.2 Hardware
 Identify and briefly explain the Input devices, Output devices, Storage
devices, Processor and Communication devices or the “proposed Information
System”.
 Require providing figure/s for each type of hardware.
3.3 Software

 Identify and briefly explain a system software and application software to be


used in the “proposed Information System”.
 Explain the usage or purpose of the system software and application software.
3.4 People
 Identify and briefly explain 2 examples of the direct and indirect users, and
why these users are important to the “proposed Information System”.
3.5 Procedures
 Each member to identify a function of the “proposed Information System”.
 Use Storyboard to illustrate the steps or flow of the identified procedures.
* 4 members = 4 functions and 4 procedures with Storyboard.
4. Conclusion
 A brief summary of the findings. It must not contain any references. The conclusion is all
about the writer’s idea on the topic.
5. References / Bibliography
 Students are required to use a minimum of 10 sources from relevant articles, journals,
books, etc.
 Must be in APA referencing format. Quick guide is available in the link:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. The report should be prepared using font type: Times New Roman, font size: 12 (except
titles and headings) and 1.5 line spacing.
2. The report should have a one (1”) margin all around the page as illustrated below:

3. Deliverables: Deliverables: Must submit a softcopy of the report in APU Moodle.


4. Presentation:
 All members of the group are required to present.
 Each member will need approximately 3-5 minutes to present his or her work.
 You can use any presentation software, e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.
5. Diagrams and Illustrations: This includes any diagrams, charts and pictures used as
supporting facts in the report.
6. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): This involves the leadership and teamwork practiced
within the group.
7. The report should consist of your own work. Any ideas extracted from other sources must be
referenced and cited within the report. References prepared should be in APA Referencing
Style.
8. Plagiarism is a serious offence and will automatically be awarded a zero (0) mark.
