THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Education has always been hailed as the gate way to a brighter future.

Technology changed how we acquire information, speed up learning, and look

for new ways to put knowledge to use. Even while the benefits of technology in

education are widely acknowledged and applauded, there are still some

challenges. The objective of this study is to address an important problem: the

drawbacks and restrictions of online enrollment technologies that provide

challenges towards students and researchers. Online enrollment programs

have the potential to increase accessibility and simplify data collecting, but they

frequently result in server overload, slow speed processing times, and a limited

selection of course alternatives. Additionally, families and parents, particularly

those with low levels of digital literacy, encounter difficulties navigating the

intricate online enrollment process and making wise choices regarding schools.

This study recommends modified films, engaging tours, and live video

conversations as beginning steps to close the enrollment gap, acknowledging

the need for creative solutions. This study is designed to shed light on the

current state of online enrollment in education by looking at the enrollment

procedures at ICC Senior High School, exploring various viewpoints on

software usage, and evaluating its features and general quality. technology

plays a crucial role in the lives of individuals, particularly students who have the

opportunity to explore various new topics and expand their understanding of

complex ideas, strategies, and methods (Lim, 2021). However, despite its

benefits, technology also comes with drawbacks that make it less desirable

(Walter, 2020).

Since, most people spend a lot on education and it is hustle for the students to

go back and forth in far places just to enroll and comply with the requirements,

especially if the person lives far from the school; it will possibly greatly increase

the availability of the students in enrolling smoothly without any interruption.

However, it’s only for enrollment purposes. Even though it’s only for enrolling

purposes, it can lessen the paperwork of the registrar employees. Things that

were once impossible are now possible in today's globe. Computers appear to

have had a significant influence on the current generation. With the aid of

technology, our lives are made more convenient and tasks may be completed

much more quickly. Today, the majority of people use technology to live their

lives quickly and easily. It is crucial today, especially for people who are busy

working in an office or corporation. Additionally, it is incredibly beneficial to

students' homework, projects, and other endeavors. In order to connect all of

these to our study, the proponents wish to assist Immaculada Concepcion

College in improving their admissions procedure, particularly given the

significant number of students who enroll each year.

Statement of the Problem

The objective of the study is to help the icc shs students to enroll through online

making it easy to access and modify. specific problems especially the study

aims to answer the following:

1. What are the challenges encountered by shs students during virtual

enrollment in icc?

2. Does the enrollment system have a significant effect by helping the icc shs

students enroll?

3. Based on the findings, what policy may be formulated to improve the

school’s enrollment system.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study aims to assist senior high school students at Immaculada

Concepcion College in enrolling online, making it simple to access and modify.

•Senior high schoolers of Immaculada Conception College are the only

participants that is allowed to use the program.

Significance of the Study

The following participants in this study might greatly benefit from the

researchers' assistance;

STUDENTS. The research study will help them enroll in several classes at

once. To register for various classes, they are no longer required to fill out

many, lengthy forms. This method makes the students' enrollment process

simple. The student enrollment management system enables smooth data

collection and communication from beginning to end.

PARENTS. This study will assist in creating a simple inquiry form for parents.

Long inquiry forms are one of the most annoying components of enrolling kids

in school. Parents are being forced to fill out this lengthy paperwork even if they

have not chosen the school their child will attend, which is a huge waste of their

time and energy. School administrators are permitted to adapt the inquiry forms

to the online enrollment system in order to make it as easy as feasible.

SCHOOL STAFF. Having an orderly method to manage all forms, whether they

be inquiry forms, tour schedules, or final enrollment forms, and the freedom to

personalize these forms as they want, is one way that school employees can

profit from online registration. Regarding parents, you may assist them in

saving time and money as they won't have to travel to the school to complete

paperwork or wait in the lobby.

FUTURE RESEARCHERS. With the help of this study, students who are likely

to study the same topics will gain some knowledge for their own studies.

Additionally, it will provide them with concepts for expanding their own

research.

concepts, understanding, ideas, generalizations, and developments related to

the study of enrollment from the past through the present, and they act as a

researchers guidance in creating the project. Information that this is pertinent to

and similar to the current study is familiarized by using those that were also

included in this chapter.

2.1 Locale Literature and Study

2.1.1 Ace Adrian Sandoval in Enrollment System

Enrollment System is useful especially when the school retrieves the

important information from the student. The school can trace what is the

standing of the students. Lack of Enrollment System in a school can lead to

chaos and troubles. Students will be confused on what they should do to be

able to enroll. It is extremely useful in the school in the process of enrolling

becoming much easier.

According to Alex Pacheco (2018) the enrollment process of an educational

institution becomes very complex when the waiting time is prolonged and

crowds of people are created. Technological tools are the most effective way to

deal with this problem. Therefore, this research seeks to optimize the

institution through the implementation of a digital enrollment system.

2.1.2 Computerized Enrollment System of Judge Feliciano Belmonte

Senior High School

The purpose of this system is to lessen the time consumed by the

students in enrolling. It also allows the Maglite school management to easily

assign all incoming students to their prospective sections. The system will

provide an accurate and reliable enrollment process to help the school with the

enrollment process because the school previously used a manual enrollment

process. The system's development life cycle was used.

2.1.3 Computerized Enrollment Transaction System in San Pedro

To reduce the workload of the registrar and staff and to offer

accurate student information when required, the group agreed to develop an

enrolling system. Because it provides a more effective and efficient method for

both students and schools, computerized enrollment systems are very helpful

for both the company and the kids. It is crucial in a way that benefits the

out by Charlene G. Bulai et. The argument said that the school's enrollment

process is time-consuming, duplicate student records are kept, and student

on redundant student information and speed up the enrolling process and the

ability to quickly retrieve student records

2.1.4 Far Eastern University Enrollment System

With its 25,000 students, Far Eastern University (FEU) ranks

among the biggest universities in the country in terms of population. And with a

large population comes multiple problems in enrollment, student records and

related data. Wanting a lasting solution to the problem, FEU asked consultants

for recommendations. The result was a decision to automate FEU's enrollment

system. FEU decided to automate the enrollment system in two phases: (1), the

development of a system for enrollment and student records for Phase I, and

(2) the integration of the student's financial records for. They worked closely

with SQL*Wizard to pilot E*Wizard, an integrated system for student enrollment

that contains modules with extensive inquiry and reporting capabilities. They

also tapped FEU's Computer Services Department to iron out kinks. They

reviewed organizational structures, assigned people to support groups and

asked faculty advisers and staff to train. She also met with the representatives

of individual institutes and with the support of the academic managers and

2.1.5 Samar State University Automated Enrollment System

Technology innovations have influenced man's work, from data

processing, business transactions, research, planning, monitoring and even in

medical operation of man’s body is now entrusted to computer technology.

Samar State University (SSU) as one of the Universities in Samar Island aims

to be the center of excellence in education and has recently made changes to

some of its existing systems. The enrollment system of the university is now

computerized, and other systems are on its way. This only shows that they are

coping with the latest technology.

The Automated Enrollment System of Samar State University aims for an

accurate, user friendly, efficient system that can help both the student and

personnel for fast data processing of enrollment. Engr. Hideki Hashimoto, a

Japanese volunteer, headed the creation and conceptualization of the system.

The information technology faculty from the College of Engineering and Arts

and Sciences assisted him. The system that is web-based uses PHP

programming language with data stored in My SQL is run through the intranet

of SSU.

A dry-run for this automated enrollment was done last summer and the

first semester of this school year. Offices affected with the automation were the

registrar, cashier, accounting, and the Colleges of Education, Engineering, Arts

and Sciences, Industrial Technology, Nursing and Graduate Studies. Feedback

from the students were formulated when the first semester started. Over 75 %

of them say that the automation process of enrollment was better compared

with the old system. With the good result of the dry run the automated

enrollment system will be finally implemented this 2nd semester.

2.2 Foreign Literature and Studies

to online enrollment management systems, schools can devote more resources

Online Student Enrolment System at ABC University ABC University (ABCU) is

seeking to develop an online student enrolment system (the System) whereby

the students would be able to enroll themselves into eligible subjects at the

beginning of each trimester and pay their tuition fees online. You have been

hired as the Business Analyst for this project. Founded in Sydney in 2013,

ABCU has experienced remarkable growth in student numbers in recent years

and has opened new campuses in three other Australian cities including

Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. ABCU currently has 50,000 students

across their four campuses with an estimated 5000 student in-take in each

trimester. This phenomenal growth in their student numbers has necessitated

the need for an online student enrolment system. Once developed, this system

will replace the manual enrollment process that is currently in place. The

current manual enrollment process is labor-intensive, error-prone, and rather

inefficient as it requires the Student Enrolment Officers to manually enroll each

student into the subjects upon the receipt of a study plan from the students.

2.2.2 Enrollment System Complete Capstone Documentation

According to this research and documentation the educational system

has taken advantage of the technology in teaching and learning, processing

data, record keeping, and in their enrollment system. Enrollment systems are

used in recording a student's information. This will reduce the load on the

people that do the work manually. A well-built enrollment system like this will be

useful especially in gathering data from the students. Manual enrolling can lead

to inaccuracies in evaluation of the student, performance, records and slow

processing that’s why online enrollment has a lot of advantages because its

more efficient in handling the information gathered from the students and Its is

extremely useful in the school in a way of making the processes of enrolling

much easy.

In this study, the researchers aim to develop a fast, efficient, and reliable way of

enrolling through computer-based programs. This program will be the best

method and it will speed up the process of enrolling.

2.2.3 Long Beach City College Enrollment System

Southern California community college Long Beach City College has

gone live with a new Cognos-based enrollment management system that was

designed by Irvine, CA-based professional services firm e2e Analytics. Prior to

installing the new system, LBCC, which has two main campuses and multiple

satellites that support nine schools and 34 departments, handled its enrollment

via manual spreadsheets. With no reporting, continuity, or standard practices,

and with lengthy error corrections, the school’s enrollment management

budgeting and planning took up to three months to compile, consolidate, and

implement LBCC tapped e2e Analytics, which specializes in higher education,

to design a web-based enrollment management system using Cognos

Enterprise Planning software from Cognos Inc. (Ottawa, Ontario). Using

Cognos for enrollment management was a unique application for Cognos,

according to Dan Galuppo, e2e’s director of professional services, but the result

Computer Studies and System, Similar research demonstrates how much

better a computerized enrollment system is than manual processing. According

to the studies, databases are crucial for preserving student information, which

is comparable to the approach that is being suggested for keeping track of

student files. Systems from related research said that only authorized

individuals can access the system, and the same is true of the proposed

your subjects and schedule. Another is online access; nevertheless, the

proposed system is exclusively LAN-Based, despite some research' claims to

the contrary. The proposed method is primarily intended for enrolling purposes,

and the payment modules cannot calculate students' grades like they can in

some programs.

3.2 Requirements Documentation

This topic was sought after first by the researchers. for the approval to

begin the study, then, the thesis adviser gives the researchers advice on how to

make a system better. Following guidance, the developers arranged and

conducted research on studies that would aid in their understanding of the

enrollment system. Researchers proceed through all the articles related to the

study. the developers then analyze and comprehend the information and data

that they had discovered to be relevant and helpful.

3.3 Design Software

To improve the program, the researchers designed it using NetBeans

because it is not reasonable to develop desktop, mobile, and other web

applications which are open source. Additionally, it supports the creation of the

programs in a number of languages, such as Java, HTML, and C++.

3.4 Development Testing

The researchers tested the program we're running it repeatedly to

identify whether the program is perfectly working or if there are some issues

that are completely destroying the program. Researchers debug this program

by Manuel e looking at the codes one by one to find the bag that is messing

with the program and execute it. By doing this we ensure that the program that

we're working on has no problem when using it. Researchers also tested the

program by fixing the debug in the program. Researchers ensure that

potential to change and significantly improve the lives of its users. So,

3.6 Implementation Plan

The researchers think about the main function of the program which

is CRUD which stands for create, read, update, and delete. Before we start
