“MY PIECE OF 𝛑”: INVESTIGATION Lesson 1
Goal: to investigate the significance of number PI in Math and to use radians to
graph primary trigonometric functions

Part I
𝛑 has been a phenomenon in Math for at least 4000 years. It is now that moment in your life
to become a fan of this fascinating number. Explore it and present the answers to the following
questions in a creative format:
1. What is 𝜋?
2. 5 facts about PI that impressed you
3. So what? How is it even useful?
4. What is the link between PI and radian measure?
5. “PI is all around us..” True or False? Give 3 reasons for your answer

What to submit:
a creative presentation of the answers to 5 questions in the following possible formats: a
video/Tik Tok style video, a poster, a cartoon, a painting. If you manage to successfully
incorporate Christmas Theme into your presentation, you will get T/2 extra points as bonuses
Resources: Slide 4-7 of this presentation

Part 2
How are we going to use PI in our course? Complete the following steps to figure that out.
What to do: p 334-335, complete steps A – I
