Introduction: Climate change is a perplexing topic. While the best scientific evidence indicates
a clear threat to humanity's future, political and public responses to this challenge have been
relatively weak. Thus, creating a "Smart Sustainable City" might be the best solution in adapting
to the current issue at hand. However, questions emerge concerning this concept. What is a smart
sustainable city, and how can we attain it? A Smart Sustainable City is an innovative city that
uses ICTs and other means to improve quality of life, the efficiency of urban operation and
services, and competitiveness while ensuring that it meets the needs of present and future
generations concerning economic, social, and environmental as well as cultural aspects. The
question remains on how we can attain a smart sustainable city?

Test Directions: The goal of the activity is to create a miniature of a smart sustainable city that
can adapt to climate change. The ENVISCIE teachers have plotted the days for the
accomplishment of their activity.

Day 01: Come up with a blueprint for a “Smart Sustainable City”. The blueprint will serve as
your guide in creating a mock-up of the said city. Make sure to take into consideration the
materials that you will be using. If possible, all of it shall be eco-friendly.
Day 02-03: The creation of their miniature will commence for 2 days. The students will devote
their time creating their miniature during ENVISCIE sessions until they finish the task.
Day 04: After creating their miniature, students will be presenting their output in front of the
class.

They will be graded based on the rubrics provided by the teachers.

Be guided with the rubric that follows.
