MyBoardDeals Company

MyBoardDeals company is an adTech company that seeks to

revolutionise the advertising industry by re-distributing the
billions of dollars generated within the advert industry from the
pockets of a few ad giants to customers themselves.

We believe that customers should be enthroned by all

businesses. This is because customers are the real reason why
businesses exist. If all customers cease to patronise businesses,
they would cease to exist.

Furthermore, for customers to be considered enthroned, they

must become beneficiaries of the billions of dollars generated
within the advert industry.

This is what MyBoardDeals is about.

Think about this:

Over 500 billion US dollars is spent on advertising globally

In Nigeria alone, Ad spending in the Digital Advertising market is

projected to reach US$179.20m in 2022.

Think about the fact that every time you get on different
websites, you constantly get bombarded with all kinds of ads.
Not a single dime of the money generated within this industry
gets to you.

But with MyBoardDeals company, all of that is changing -

because you're enabled, with our app and other products, to
become a real-time beneficiary of all of these billions of dollars
spent globally on advertising.

Introduction
John Duke is a 28 year old Nigerian graduate. He
finished from the university of Benin in 2015. This is
2020 yet he is still trying to put His finances
together. He's been working in an organization, for
some years now, where he gets less than $70 a
month. He admits he is struggling. With that amount
of money, he can barely take care of himself. Worst
still, he lives in Lagos Nigeria, where the cost if living
is really high. He's seriously thinking of getting
married but just cannot see how that will be possible
with $70 a month. The funny thing is that he is not
alone in this struggle. There are several people like
him throughout Nigeria.

John Duke isn't his real name, and the image above isn't his picture.
Mary Chisom is a 26 year old is a pretty young
woman who finished the National Youth Service
Program about two years ago. She's living on her own
in Lagos, Nigeria. She works in a school as a biology
teacher where she earns about $65 a month. Don't
forget that she's got to pay her rent, feed herself and
do a lot of other things. She's got nobody to help her.
She feels she is barely living. After spending so much
money and energy going through the university she
feels that she deserves better. And sometimes she
breaks down in tears feeling like everything is against
her. Well, she's not really alone in this struggle. There
are several young women like her here.

Mary Chisom isn't her real name and the image above isn't her picture.
If you are reading this book as an undergraduate student,
blessed are you! What this means is that you have
sufficient time to plan and strategize ahead and to equip
yourself for life after school. But if you are reading this
book as a graduate, what it means is that you would need
to double up on your efforts because you do not have as
much time as you had when you were still in school.
You see, life after school is hard. It is very difficult.
And I am speaking with respect to finance. Money is
needed to run around, to live on earth, to thrive and
to survive. Money is actually a form of power, and
without it, you will most likely go through life in pain
and a victim. You cannot live on earth as it is today
without the power that money gives you. This power
is the power of bargain, the power to choose, the
power to decide what you want to do and how you
want to live.
I am not writing this piece to arm those with the desire to
oppress and suppress others, or with the desire to live
ostentatiously and flamboyantly. I am writing this to
equip those who desire to become all that they were
created to be with the financial skills necessary to achieve
that. And I hope that this book will be both a text and a
guide to you. I hope that it will inform, teach, inspire,
motivate and propel you to take the necessary actions
and steps required to make you a financial giant.
The truth is that your school never prepared you for this
phase of life. You spent a whole lot of money and energy
to go through a university but you got little or no value for
it. If you are like me you probably spent a few thousands
of dollars just to get a B.Sc. degree, but the value you got
from it is so small that it is not sufficient to help you face
life after school.
Let's admit it: if all you've got is all you were taught
in school, you will probably struggle in your finances
throughout your life. Consider the following data:
"Nigeria's unemployment rate as at the second quarter if
2020 is 27.1%, indicating that about 21,764,614 (27.1
million) Nigerians remain unemployed. Nigeria's
unemployment and underemployment rate (28.6%) is a
combined 55.7%. This means the total number of Nigerians
who are unemployed or underemployed as at 2020, quarter
two. This is contained in a recently unemployment data
report published by the National Bureau of Statistics.
Nigeria's unemployment rate was 23.1% in quarter three,
2018; confirming that it increased by 4% between then and
the second quarter of 2020."
(https: //nairametrics.com/2020)
"About 25 million graduates are unemployed in Nigeria,....
Interestingly, the graduate 'manufacturing factories'
continue to expand while the graduate employing factories
continue to shrink. There are 134 recognized polytechnics in
Nigeria,...similarly, Nigeria presently has 174 universities...
(as of October, 2019). Nigeria's 308 degree awarding
institutions have an enrollment population of about 2
million and produce about 600,000 graduates yearly."
(https: //allafrica.com/stories)
"South Africa's unemployment rate rose to 30.1% in the first
quarter of 2020 from 29.1%, in the previous period, and
above market expectations of 29.7%. It was the highest
jobless rate on record since quarterly data became available
in 2008, as the number of unemployed people increased by
344 thousand to an all-time high of 7.1 million."

africa/unemployment-rate)
I had to include all that info to give credence to my
assertions in this book and to make you see why you
need to take these things seriously. But if you choose
not to, then be prepared to face the hard and
difficult life that those who didn't prepare
themselves are facing.

Let's get it straight: what kind of life do you want to

live? How do you want to go through this life? Do you
want to live broke? Are you willing to be harassed,
tormented and oppressed just because you lack the
power that money gives? Are you willing to go
through this life without the power to live out your
dreams because of lack of money? What about
medical bills? Car bills? Electricity bills? House rent?
Food? Baby diapers? Children's school fee? How are
you going to take care of those things and the
several others that I didn't include? Who will pay the
bills? Do you think anybody will be willing to
shoulder your responsibilities for you? Who was born
to make life easy for you, to supply you with every
dime that you require? See, if you don't take care of
those things by yourself, nobody else will. You either
do it yourself or go through this life frustrated,
tormented, oppressed, defeated and victimized.
Herein lies the reason why you MUST acquire the
right financial skills. And that is the purpose of this
book.
Chapter One
What's the Relevance of
Education?
What’s the relevance of education? What exactly is
the reason for school? Why do we have all of these
schools and universities?
I finished the university and never really learnt
anything about money and wealth creation. I paid a
lot of money for the service they rendered. But when
I finished and got into the real world, it dawned on
me that they didn’t really equip me with the skills I
need to survive, thrive and succeed in the real world.
When I realised this, I became totally angry and mad
at universities. Four years I was on campus learning
things that were almost irrelevant. About 80% of
what I learnt I didn’t need. Yet that was what they
taught. They wasted my time, energy, and money.
They lied to me and deceived me that what they
were giving to me had value. But it was all a bluff! If I
had spent those four years learning a trade or
developing a money-making skill, I would have been
a whole lot better financially speaking.
And before you tell me that everything is not about
money, I wanna let you know that a whole lot of the things
we do in life everyday, directly or indirectly, involves
money. For instance, you need money to buy food,
clothes, and water. You need money to put a roof over
your head. You need money to pay electricity and
transport bills. Your very existence on earth today
requires money. You don’t just need oxygen to exist, you
need other things. And those things cost money.
Furthermore, you work from Monday to Friday for money.
So how is it that we were never taught anything
about how money is created? Why do universities
prepare our young people to get a job once they
leave the school and not to create jobs? If there were
so many jobs out there, good enough to help us
financially, that wouldn’t have been a problem. But
the thing is that the jobs are not there. And the ones
that exist can barely feed many people. Only few of
those jobs could afford to really help people
financially.
So when I left the university and reality dawned on me, I
felt like I had spent four years of my life learning things
that were totally unable to provide the money I needed to
live on earth and to achieve all of my dreams. I felt so
pained. I cried and cried again and again. I felt like I had
wasted four years of my life and I was never prepared for
the real world.
But then, I decided to channel all that pain and anger into
researching on money and wealth creation. And my
discovery astounded me : Wealth is NOT a mystery!
Wealth is the result of putting into practice certain
universal laws! And it was also during my research I
encountered this portion of the scriptures:
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running
over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the
same measure that ye mete withal it shall be
measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38)
And the Spirit of God enlightened my heart, saying:
“you see, the way this verse has been interpreted is
that when you take an offering to church, people will
start giving money to you. But that isn’t exactly the
case. Let me show you how to interpret: Give value
(in the form of products and services) and value shall
be given back to you (in the form of money, honour
and fame)”.
That completely revolutionised my thinking. I immediately
saw that if I don’t GIVE, I will never GET! If I don’t give
VALUE, there’s nobody that will give me VALUE in return
(in the form of money).
My discovery also showed me that money is simply a
representation of value. Value is anything (tangible or
intangible) that solves problem for people, meets their
needs or answers their questions.
But nobody taught me those principles. Nobody
REINFORCED into me the necessity of creating and
offering value. (Emphasis is on the word, "reinforced".
This shows that it's not just enough to tell people once.
You have to tell them many, many times, in several ways.
You have to show them. You have to teach them with
real-life examples. You have to do this over and over
again until it becomes a part of their subconscious mind
and forms a part of their belief system.) I was only made
to feel that all I needed was to go to school, learn
whatever they teach people there, graduate and start
looking for a job!
The moment I began to put those things to work, I began
to notice a change in my circumstances. And it dawned to
me that if I had spent those four years I wasted in the
university learning and practising these principles, I would
have been far much more better off in life than I was. You
see, progress is not magic! It's the result of the consistent
application of the right principles.
Nowadays, I don’t advise young people to follow the path
I followed. I tell them to learn a skill and to study about
business and wealth creation. They’d be much better in
life following that path. You don’t have to go to a
university to become a contributing member of the
society, creating so much wealth for yourself and for the
society. It’s a BIG lie when people tell you otherwise!
This is why I am saying to you today that the present
curriculum of our universities must be changed.
Furthermore, the methods and processes of teaching
must be changed. The way these things are being done in
our universities is wrong. We cannot keep on doing the
same things over and over again and be expecting a
different result. If we want our young people to become
wealth creators, then the curriculum and teaching
methods must be changed and made to achieve that
purpose.
There are so many of you out there who are following the
path I followed and making the very same mistakes I
made. And I am telling you right now that if you don't
change, you will end up as broke, disappointed,
disillusioned and angry as I was after I graduated. They
told you that all you need to become financially well-off is
to study your course diligently, get the best results and
ensure you finish with a first-class or a second-class
upper degree.
And I am telling you right now that they lied to you.
They're well-meaning people, but they lied to you
nonetheless. If university degrees were that relevant, why
do we have so many graduates who are broke, poor,
unemployed, underemployed and even unemployable?
Why would someone finish studying a four-year course,
graduate and then start learning tailoring or some other
skill? What did you spend four years studying for? Was it
not to be financially equipped to meet your needs? If after
four years you still have to go and learn a skill, does that
not tell you that your degree is more or less a waste?
Why didn't you rather use those four years to learn and
master that skill and to also learn the business side of the
skill?
If you think like the majority, you will end up where the
majority are - you will end up broke, poor, disillusioned,
confused, frustrated, defeated and financially powerless!
And you cannot afford to follow the path of the majority.
You must learn to think for yourself. You must learn to
question things critically and to stop doing things just
because everyone is doing it.
Ask yourself: "What kind of life do I want to have?"
"Where do I want to end up?" "What kind of future do I
desire to have?"
I am writing this book so that you will be better informed
and so that you will not make the kind of mistakes that
some of us made. I have been through the path you're
following and I can tell you that it's not worth it at all. Don't
waste your life for nothing: because you will definitely end
up in regrets!
Now, I have not told you not to go to a university or to
drop out of one. But if you are in a university or you want
to go to one, make sure that you learn everything about
money, and begin to practice it right where you are.
Whoever told you that you cannot be a university student
and a business owner? Whoever told you that you cannot
be making money while still in school? Whoever told you
that you cannot start creating wealth where you are? You
see, that's how the majority thinks. And i told you that if
you think like them, you will end up as broke, poor,
frustrated and disillusioned as they are.

So think outside of the box, and refuse to limit yourself!

Chapter Two
Life is a Battle
The first thing I will like to burn into your consciousness is
that life is a battle. Period! The earlier you accept this
truth, the better for you. You see, most people want life
easy. They want to go through life on the flowery bed of
ease. They want everything to work out perfectly for
them. But the sad thing is that nothing good comes easily
in life. As a matter of fact, nature tends towards the
negative. It is easier fall sick than to live healthily. It is
easier to kill than to give birth. It is easier to fail than
succeed. It is easier to come down than to go up. If you
want something great and positive to come out of your
life, you must put in the required efforts. It is easier to be
poor, broke and defeated than to be wealthy, rich and
successful. It takes work, real work, to make life
productive and great. And if you choose to fold your
arms, you will end up a failure, and that's all you will get.
If you want a life of success and wealth you must fight.
You must swim against the tides. You must do what most
people don't do, what the average person isn't willing to
do. You see, broad is the path that leads to destruction,
that leads to poverty, that leads to failure, and that leads
to lack and defeat - and there are many people that are
found on that path. But then, the path that leads to
victory, success, wealth, health and riches is very narrow:
this is why only very few people tread this path. I am not
talking about the kind of success, wealth and riches
gotten through wickedness or deceit, but the kind gotten
through labour, wisdom and truth.

What are you going to do to have the kind of life that you
desire to have? What price will you pay for success,
wealth and riches? These things won't come to you by
sheer luck. It has been said that if wishes were horses,
beggars would ride. Unfortunately, wishes are not horses,
so beggars are left stranded. What are you going to do?
Are you going to pay the price and make transition from a
life of lack and need to a life of wealth and riches? Or are
you going to settle with the status quo and live like every
other person? Are you going to settle for less? Are you
going to sacrifice your potentials for temporary pleasure
and comfort? How long will you keep striving for a life of
security instead of for a life of freedom?

Look, I am not saying these things to everybody: but only

to those who are tired of their circumstances, of being in
lack, of being victims, and of being unable to pursue their
dreams and desires because of financial powerlessness. I
am speaking to those who are tired of waiting for a good
job, and of playing things safe. Life only responds to
those who are demanding and resolute, and to those who
are not willing to accept any defeat.
Chapter Three
Put Off Entitlement Mentality
"Entitlement mentality is the state of mind that you are
owed something when most people around you would
beg to differ. It is a state of mind in which an individual
comes to believe that privileges are rights, and that they
are expected as a matter of course. It is frequently
characterized by a lack of appreciation for the sacrifices
of others, a lack of responsibility, and an inability to
accept that actions carry consequences."
(thepowermoves.com and conservapedia.com)
As long as you believe that your destiny is dependent on
someone else's actions or inactions, you will never ever
become anything useful in life. You cannot achieve wealth
and success believing that your destiny hangs on
someone else's shoulders. Unless you accept full
responsibility for your life, you will never make progress.
One of the first principles of change is to accept that you
are the sole custodian of your own destiny. You are the
one that determines how far you go. And if you decide to
do nothing, then you will have nothing and go nowhere.
You see, as long as you believe that you are where you
are, financially, because of your parents, the government
or society, you will never do whatever it takes to move
your life forward. Why? You will keep blaming others.
Listen, I am not trying to absolve others of their
wrongdoings: and I am not saying that things wouldn't
have been a bit better if they had played their part. But I
am saying that as long as you don't take full responsibility
for your life, you will never do whatever it takes to make
progress. Listen, it doesn't help putting blame on other
people for your misfortunes or financial difficulties. It's a
waste of time and energy. Leave those people alone and
move your life forward. Yes they made a mistake and
that's why you are in this mess: but what are you going to
do about it? Are you going to remain in this state whining
and griping about the wrongs they did, or are you going to
take the bull by the horn and move forward? The ball is in
your court!
The good thing about life is that you can do something
about your situation. You can change your destiny. You
can advance yourself. All it requires is that you put the
right principles to work and things will change.
Chapter Four
The Power of Beliefs
You become what you believe. This is a universal reality.
Your beliefs can limit your innate abilities or they can
unleash them. Your beliefs are actually influencing your
actions or inactions. Your life is simply the expression of
your beliefs. You are simply living out the things that you
have come to believe over the years.
Once a thought becomes your belief, it becomes a part of
your life, and it begins to influence how you live your life.
Your beliefs determine your actions, decisions, choices,
and preferences. For instance, as long as you believe that
you are where you are now because of the government
and the society, and that you can do nothing about it,
then you will never take any step or action necessary to
move you forward. As long as you believe that you cannot
do anything to change your present condition, you will do
nothing: and doing nothing will keep you where you are. If
you believe that the only way to be rich is to take from
those who already have, you will always be looking for
ways to deceive people and to steal from them. If you
believe that money is scarce, you will always see lack
everywhere, and your eyes will be blind to the financial
opportunities all around you.
Therefore, you will remain broke and poor until you
change your beliefs. You must change your entire belief
system. And this is not about making positive confessions
or about trying to be positive. I am telling you right now
that the actions you are taking or not taking today are all
being influenced by the things that you believe. And it is
your actions and inactions that, in turn, determine your
destiny. Therefore, your beliefs will determine your
destiny. If you believe that you are stupid and dull, you
will shut the gates your mind, preventing it from thinking
up creative and innovative ideas.

The great thought leader, speaker and author, Robert

Schuller, told a story in his book, POWER THOUGHTS,
about his encounter with a man called George Dantzig.
They met inside of an airplane and began talking. In the
course of their conversation, George Dantzig told him
(Robert Schuller) a personal story. Here is the story:

"...Nearly 50 years ago, I was a mathematics student at

the university of California at Berkeley. It was a week
before graduation. This was during the Depression and
people were standing in lines to get soup. They were
hungry. All of us who were graduating were anticipating
joining the unemployment line, for jobs were scarce. The
rumor was, however, that the person who got the highest
marks in my class would be given a job as an assistant
teacher. I was desperate... I worked and worked and
studied and prepared for the final exam. In fact, I studied
so hard that when I went to take the test I was late. I ran
to the desk, picked up the paper and looked at it. It had
eight problems. I solved all eight. Then I noticed two more
on the board. I tried the first and I couldn't get that one,
so I switched to the other. I couldn't solve that one
either...The bell rang.
I said to the professor, 'There are a couple of problems I
didn't get finished. May I have a little more time?' He said,
'Sure, George. You have until Friday, at four o'clock, no
later. Put it on my desk when you are done.'...I went home
and I knew that there were students in my class who were
ad smart as I was. Some of them would have solved all ten
problems. I was stuck on two of them, but I knew that
somebody would solve those two. Why not me? I was as
smart as they were. I worked on one of the problems.
Couldn't solve it. Went to the other one. Couldn’t solve it.
Day after day, night after night, Tuesday night.
Wednesday night. Thursday. Finally, I solved one, then the
other.

I put the paper on my professor's desk at four o'clock on

Friday...Sunday morning, Dr. Schuller, about seven
o'clock, there was a loud pounding on my door. I woke up,
opened the door, groggily. There was my professor. He
said, 'George! George! You have made mathematics
history.' I shook my head and said, 'What do you mean?'
He said, 'George... Eight problems were on the test paper
that you picked up off my desk. You solved them all
correctly. The two problems I had written on the board
were not a part of the test! George, when I handed out the
test, I said, ' I've enjoyed teaching all of you these four
years. The rest of your life, if you want to have a little fun
with mathematics, keep playing with these two famous
unsolved problems.' Then I put those two questions on
the board. Even Einstein, to his death, played with those
problems and couldn't solve them. You solved them,
George! You solved them both! And I am here to tell you -
you've got a job, starting next week as my assistant
professor!'"
George Dantzig looked at Robert Schuller and said: " Dr.
Schuller, if I hadn't been late for that class, and if I had
heard the professor say that those two problems remain
unsolved, that even Einstein couldn't solve them, then do
you think I would have believed that I could solve them? I
wouldn't even have tried to solve them!
George Dantzig didn't just believe he could solve those
two problems, he also believed that he was as smart as
the smartest kid in his class, and that if any of them could
solve difficult problems, he could do it too. It was this
strong belief that opened up the gates of his mind and
allowed the flow of creative solutions and ideas into his
mind. I make bold to say that you are what you believe.
At this point, I want you to write down 20 reasons why
you believe that you are broke or not rich. Please be as
honest and real as possible. You are not writing these
things to show anyone so open up. Make sure you express
your totally. Give vent to your emotions as you write. Just
be real. And don't go any further in this book until you
have done this.
Next, write a short biography of who you are. Include
everything going on in your life right now. Also include
your dreams and ideas. While you're at this, ask yourself:
"Am I where I truly would like to be?" If not, write down all
the things you sincerely believe are the reasons why you
are not making progress.
Why am I asking you to do all of these things? It's very
simple! I want you to begin to see clearly the things that
you really believe. Once you identify them, you can begin
to work at changing them. But like I said, it's these beliefs
that have been limiting you. You CANNOT go far until you
have successfully eliminated them.
Here are some limiting beliefs about money:
* Whatever will be will be, and whatever will not be won't
be.
* Our destinies have been determined by God and
cannot be changed. If I am broke, it is God's will. If God
says I will be rich, I will be rich.
* Money is hard and difficult to get. We have to struggle
hard and fight to get it.
* Rich people are wicked and evil. Poor people must
fight, steal and do anything to take their own share of the
world's wealth.
* You can never be righteous and godly and be rich and
wealthy at the same time.
* Money is not everything. I will rather be poor and have
peace than be rich and be without peace.
* Success is not measured by money. If I don't have
money, it doesn't mean that I am not successful.
* Money is the root of all evil.
* The reason why I am not rich is that I was so
unfortunate to have been born into a poor Family.
* The reason why I am not rich is because this nation is
filled with wickedness and corruption.
* The reason why I am not rich is because there is a
curse on my family.
* Nothing I do ever works, so why should I keep on
trying.
* I am cursed and that is why nothing ever works for me.
* I am not smart and intelligent. I just struggled to
graduate from the university. Who am I to be the CEO of
a global company?
* I can't afford it.
* Money doesn't grow on trees.
* I can't make money.
* Money cannot buy happiness.
* God is trying to use lack and poverty to teach me
something, to keep me humble.

Deeply consider those beliefs above, and check if you

can identify with any of them, or with other similar beliefs.
Please be honest with yourself. Don't lie to yourself. If you
search deep enough within yourself, you may just
discover that there is something in you that HATES
money, wealth, and abundance. And you see, as long as
that thing is still in you, you will keep repelling away
money, no matter how hard you try to get it.

What many people don't understand is that these beliefs

create an aura around them that either repel or attract
money. Yes, they do! This is why I am emphasizing on
your belief system. You will need to replace your beliefs
with those of a wealthy person. This is a fundamental
principle. If the mountain does not move in your mind, it
will never move in your life. Change first of all occurs
inside before it occurs outside.
The MyBoardDeals Revolution
Despite the billions of dollars generated within the advert
industry, customers don't benefit in any way from this
money. Customers are the ones sustaining businesses via
their patronage, and so it is only fair that they are a part
of those benefitting from this money. Most of this money
goes into the pockets of a few ad giants, contributing to
the unequal distribution of wealth and power within the
society, resulting in extreme poverty and social unrest.

We have built an app that enables businesses to market

directly to their customers, while channelling all their
advert money to these customers, with no additional
cost. Thus, MyBoardDeals company has removed the
middleman-company that used to collect all that advert
money.

Chapter Five
What Really is Money?
What really is money? How is it made or created? Why
does it seem that there is little money available? Is
money not printed by the Central Bank? Why can't they
just print so much money that will be enough for
everyone?
To answer those questions, I will begin by explaining the
concept of value.
What is Value?
Value can be defined as the degree of usefulness,
importance and profitability of a thing. It is a measure of
the worth of a thing in terms of its usefulness. When
something is valuable to you, it is important and useful to
you. For instance, your smartphone has a great value
because with it you can communicate with people all over
the world. You can do business and earn so much money
with it. It has made life a whole lot easier, better, and
comfortable. You can send a message to your mother via
WhatsApp and she'd reply you immediately even though
she might be in another state in the country. This is unlike
the days in which you had to write a letter to her and wait
for weeks and months to receive her reply.
We literally cannot live, as it is today, without our
smartphones. Therefore, based on the great level of
convenience and comfort that we now have because of
smartphones, we can say that the smartphone has a
tremendous amount of value.

So, again, value is a measure of how profitable, useful,

and beneficial a thing is to us. The higher the degree of
profitability, usefulness, and importance of a thing, the
greater its value to us.

Next, there are basically two kinds of value:

Inherent Value, and Perceived Value

Inherent Value:

This is simply a measure of how useful, beneficial and

important a thing is. For instance, humans cannot survive
without water. If you go for weeks without water you will
physically die. This shows how extremely important water
is to us. Therefore, water has a great inherent value. We
can exist without crude oil (humans existed for hundreds
of years without it): but we CANNOT exist without water.
* Perceived Value: This is the degree of worth or
importance that people attach to a particular thing. For
instance, even though water has a greater inherent value
than crude oil, crude oil has a higher perceived value
than water. You will throw away a gallon of water, but you
will never throw away a gallon of gasoline. Several times
you have thrown away water without a thought, but you
haven't thrown away gasoline. This perfectly illustrates
the fact that we attach greater importance to gasoline
than we attach to water. In other words, gasoline has a
higher perceived value than water.

One implication of what we've just considered is that you

may have a great product with a great inherent value, but
if the perceived value of that product is low people will not
pay you much for it. Therefore, it is not just enough to
have a great product, you must do everything possible to
increase the perceived value of the product.
And several factors affect perceived value, some of which
are:
* the inherent value
* Scarcity or abundance
* Bias
* Culture
* Branding
* People's wants and needs.

What then is money? How does all this relate to money?

Well, money is simply the numerical measure of value.

Money is the use of numbers to quantify the value of a
thing. What is the value of your laptop computer, for
instance? How do you measure the value of the device?
This is really difficult. But one of the practical ways we
can do this is by using numbers. For instance, we could
say that the value of the laptop computer is $1000.

You see, value is intangible. And intangible things are

very difficult to measure. How do you measure, for
example, the amount of love that a man has for his wife?
I can easily measure the length of my arm because I can
see and touch it. But I cannot see or touch love: neither
can I see or touch patience. I cannot see or touch value.
To help you understand further, I need you to consider
works of art. There are paintings that cost a few million
dollars. But you and I know that those paintings don't
have much inherent value! Can you eat them? Do they
make people live long? Absolutely no! Therefore, the
value that they have is the value (or importance) that
people attach to them which, in turn, is based on several
unseen factors like sentiments, bias, culture, etc. You
see, you cannot easily measure the value of that work of
art. And generally, you cannot easily measure value.
When we give the price of a thing in terms of money, we
are attempting to measure the value of that thing. And
that is what money is!

We can look at it in another way: Money is a

representation of value. In the olden days, before the
advent of money, humans traded by barter. If I had yam
tubers but wanted rice, all I had to do was to locate
someone who had rice and wanted yam tubers. We
would then exchange those items based on agreed
conditions. But if I couldn't find someone who wanted
yam tubers, then I was stuck with my yam tubers. This
caused men to introduce money.
What if I gave the person who had rice but didn't want
yam tubers some silver coins (money)? Those coins
would be representing the yam tubers I had at home. The
person could take those coins (which would be
representing my yam tubers) and offer them to someone
else in exchange for another product. So you see, those
silver coins would be representing the yam tubers I had at
home ( goods that were considered valuable by others).
This is why I said that money is a representation of value.

Now I want to say it again: Anything that is useful,

beneficial and helpful has value. Anything that is
considered important by other people has value. Anything
that solves problems, meets the needs of others, or
answers their questions has value. And anything that has
value can be represented with money.

Furthermore, if I could repair cars, and I repaired your

car, I would have helped you, but I wouldn't have given
you anything physical or tangible. This is why I said that
value is intangible.

And if value can be represented with money, it means

that money can be created. Therefore, the real way we
create money is not by ordering the Central Bank to
produce more dollar or naira bills, but by creating more
and more value.

Value is intangible and infinite. That is, there is no limit to

the amount of value that can be generated. If value is
infinite, it means that money is infinite. Why? Money is
simply a representation of value.
If you understand all I have said, then you can easily see
that you can create money out of thin air. Yes! If you can
create something with a great value, it means you can
literally create money. This is the LAW OF INCOME!

Furthermore, the worth of a product is its market value.

Market Value = Inherent Value × Perceived Value

The market value is what the market is willing to pay for a

thing.
Let's go back to the example I gave with water and
gasoline. Water has a greater inherent value than
gasoline, but the market value of gasoline is greater. This
is because gasoline has a greater perceived value to
people. (Market value, in terms of money, is how much a
thing is sold on the market, or how much people are
willing and able to pay for it.)
The reason gasoline has a greater perceived value is
because of scarcity and the cost of production. We all
know that when a thing is scarce, its price usually
increases. Water is everywhere. And as a matter of fact,
it costs a whole lot more to produce gasoline than to
produce water. And because gasoline is scarcer, it has a
greater perceived value. It's just like the saying that
familiarity breeds contempt. So people's familiarity with
water has greatly reduced its perceived value.
Therefore people will pay you, not just for what you give
to them, but in direct proportion to the value that they
perceive you give to them.
In other words, they will pay you in direct proportion to the
degree of worth or importance that they attach to what
you give to them. If they attach little or no worth to it, they
will give you little or no money for it. Period!
This is why you will not pay a secondary school teacher
$2000 per session! Now, is it because education isn't
important? No! It's because anybody can teach to some
extent. But not everyone can carry out a surgery. In other
words, surgical skills are scarce, but teaching skills are
not.
Now I am going to illustrate this concept using the
popular BBNaija reality show. Although I am not in full
support of everything they do in the show (for moral
reasons) I am using it as an illustration here because it's
a very good example.
BBNaija show is the most watched reality show in
Nigeria. The season 4 edition ended in October 2019.
This edition had about 26 housemates. According to the
host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the show recorded 240 million
votes in the entire season, and a total of 50 million votes
in the final week.
This show is simply a reality show in which contestants
live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash
prize worth $100,000 (about 38,500,000 naira).
Each vote costs 30 naira.
240,000,000 × 30 = 7,200,000,000 naira.
That's 7.2bn naira.
Now let us say that the actual amount they got was 5.2bn
naira, and let's assume that they spent 1bn naira to run
the entire program. What it means is that they made a
profit of 4.2bn naira.
Wait a minute, all of this money from an "ordinary" reality
show that doesn't contain much inherent value!

You see, you can criticize BBNaija organizers for all I

care, but they truly understand the concept of value and
how it relates to money.

So if you want to make money, start thinking in terms of

value - not in terms of cash. This is one major difference
between the rich and the poor. The rich constantly think
of how to create a great value, but the poor only think of
how to make money. The poor are busy chasing after
money while the rich are actually creating money out of
"thin air".

Listen, if you want to be rich and wealthy you must stop

chasing after money. Stop looking for ways to make more
money. Begin to look for genuine and creative ways to
add value to society. Money hides wherever there is real
value. You have been looking for money all your life yet
you have little of it. Why not change your mindset. Albert
Einstein said that we cannot solve a problem with the
same mindset that we had when we created it.

So the questions to ask are: What value are you going to

create? Are you going to keep on griping and whining
about how unfair life has been to you? Or are you going
to begin to use the mind that God gave you to create and
generate surplus value? Do you think that you will ever
make financial progress by going about in life with a
begging bowl? You can literally generate money out of
thin air! How? By creating real value!
Stop thinking in terms of money, and start thinking in
terms of value.
"How can I make more money?" That's the wrong
question! You should really be asking: "How can I create
value?", "What can I do to generate value?"

I will give you yet another example that illustrates that

value can be generated from something seemingly
useless and ordinary.

Erinta waterfalls is located at Ipole-Iloro, about 6km

North-west of Ikogosi, Ekiti state, Nigeria. This is a
beautiful waterfall, and so much value is being derived
from it. This is because it serves as a tourist center. So
people from outside and within Nigeria pay the
government of Ekiti state just to go there and see the
waterfall. This waterfall that seems useless has a great
perceived value. And since the money paid to you is in
direct proportion to people's perceived value of your
product or service, this waterfall generating a lot of
money. This is what it means to create money,
seemingly, out of nothing!
How Does the MyBoardDeals
App Work?
Have you ever wondered how much is made by the
owners of the physical billboards you see in different
places? Some charge as much as 3 million naira ($4286)
per month. But what if I told you that that billboard can
now be yours? What if I told you that it can now be in
your smartphone? Yes, with MyBoardDeals app in our
phones, we can all become real-time owners of digital
billboards, making cool money from this! MyBoardDeals
app gives you the opportunity to own a digital and mobile
version of the physical billboards you see everywhere.
And by so doing, it enables you to create a passive stream
of income for yourself. And just as physical billboard
owners make money by having people advertise on their
billboards, you also make money by having people
advertise on your mobile billboard. The only thing is that
this billboard is on your smartphone, in the
MyBoardDeals app.
Chapter Six
The History of Money
In the early ages, humans majorly supported themselves
by hunting and gathering food. However, difficulties with
storing things of value, hindrance to free movement, and
limitations imposed by their national environment
compelled them to trade for those goods and services
that they could not provide for themselves. This led to the
development of the barter system.
The Barter System
Barter is the exchange of one item for another. For
instance, in the olden days, a Brahmin would exchange
his services to provide knowledge in exchange for a
certain quantity of rice; or a farmer may exchange his
excess wheat produce for a cow in order to satisfy his
future needs to plow his field. In both of these examples,
no money changes hands.
Barter is the oldest way of conducting business and
predates the use of coins and paper money.
Historians have traced the origins of barter to settlements
in the Middle East, Greece, and Turkey, in addition to
many other parts of Asia and to Africa, between 8000
B.C. and 6000 B.C. Barter survives in present days in
some places in the world.
The barter system works well as long as people have
goods that other people need and vice versa. However, a
few problems are inherent in the system. What if a person
or a community had a surplus of something to trade that
no one else wants? What if the terms of a fair transaction
cannot be agreed upon? These limitations of barter trade
probably become more as communities started to interact
with each other over greater distances and a network of
trade routes sprang up to link great civilizations. The
quantum of exchange in barter was hard to determine as
it varied with different counterparts and between different
regions.
The Development of Currency
To overcome the problems faced by barter, men
gradually developed alternative means of exchange.
Commonly used and regularly demanded barter
commodities, such as wheat, were standardized into
weights and measures which, in turn, helped value other
goods and services.
However, the use of such commodities as a "medium of
exchange" was still limited by the high cost of transporting
them and the risk of perishability. The led to the need for
a better, standardized medium of exchange, which could
be transported easily and accepted across civilizations to
buy or sell other goods.
This gradually developed medium of exchange came to
be known as currency or money.

Around 1200 B.C. cowries were first used as a medium of

exchange in China. Cowries were widely available on the
shores of the pacific and Indian oceans, and was still
used as currency in some parts of the world as recently
as the middle of the twentieth century.
It is generally believed that the Lydians were the first
people to have struck metal coins around 600 B.C. The
information is documented by the Greek historian,
Herodotus, in the 5th century B.C. The earliest coins
were made from electrum, an alloy of gold and silver.
Transition to Paper Currency
Around 700 B.C. the Chinese moved from coins to paper
money. By the time Marcopolo - the Venetian merchant,
explorer, and writer who traveled through Asia along the
silk road, between A.D. 1271 and 1295 - visited China in
about A.D. 1271, the emperor of China had a good
handle on both the money supply and various
denominations.
In Europe, banks eventually began to use paper
banknotes for depositors and borrowers to carry around
in place of metal coins. These notes could be taken to the
bank at any time and exchanged for their face value in
metal - usually silver or gold - coins. This paper money
could also be used to buy goods and services. In this
way, it operated much like currency does today.
In fact, this paper money began in Europe as receipt
money. Trading with metal coins was cumbersome
because metals are very heavy. This also made it very
risky to travel with over long distances. Bankers began to
give depositors paper receipt for whatever money they
had in the banks. People eventually began to do business
transactions with this receipt money. And they discovered
it was far much more easier and safer to carry around
than metal money. All they had to do was to give that
receipt to the seller. The seller, in turn, could take that
receipt to the banker and collect the metal coins that the
receipt represented. This was the beginning of paper
money as we know it today.

Development of Credit Cards and

Electronic Money

The widespread use of credit cards and electronic money

as fundamental components of international fund
transfers occurred towards the last quarter of the
twentieth century.
Electronic money can be defined as a payment
instrument by which monetarily value is electronically
stored on a technical device in the possession of the
customer. The amount of stored monetary value is
decreased or increased as appropriate, whenever the
owner of the device uses it to make purchase, or sale
transactions.
The advent of electronic money made it absolutely clear
what money really is - a number. Money is not the paper
or the coin. It is the assigning of numbers to value in the
bid to measure it.
Chapter Seven
Is Money Really Scarce?
We have heard it again and again that money doesn't
grow on trees. While that is true, it actually communicates
the idea that money is scarce: and this is false! One of
the major reasons why poor people are poor and
continue to remain poor is the belief that money is scarce.
Once you accept the idea that money is scarce, you will
forever struggle to make money.
Note that I am not saying that making money is easy. NO!
It involves some level of work. Nevertheless, it is not
scarce. And why is it not scarce? This is the reason:
Money is nothing but the numerical measure of value. It is
a representation of value. And we saw that value is
actually intangible - it cannot be seen or touched. It is
actually perceptual. Money is what people give to you
when they feel that you have added a measure of value
to their lives. The questions therefore are:
Is value scarce? What does it take to create value? How
is it made? Is there a limit to the amount of value that can
be generated? Can anyone, in any nation, at any time,
create value?
If it is true that value is not a physical object but an
intangible, perceptual one, then it is true that there is no
limit to the amount of value that can be generated.
The problem is that most people have their eyes fixed on
physical objects. They think that money is a physical
object. But you must realize that money represents
something, and the thing which it represents is value. And
value is not tangible, limited, or scarce. There will always
be needs to meet, problems to solve, services to render,
technologies to invent, things to be discovered, books to
be written, songs to be sung, paintings to be done, lives
to be touched, technologies and methodologies to be
improved upon. The list is actually endless. All of these
things have value, and they exist in abundance - they are
infinite. Therefore, money exists in abundance. It is
limitless, inexhaustible and infinite. Money is not scarce
at all. It exists everywhere and in every nation. The bible
says that the earth is filled with the riches of God.
Listen, the earth is filled with so much wealth and riches
than can be exhausted by any single generation of
humans. If there were ten billion people on earth, they
would still not be able to exhaust the tremendous amount
of wealth that God put in this earth. Don't believe the lies
that money is scarce. Once you accept that lie as truth,
you are a goner! You will struggle forever. In fact, you will
believe that for you to become rich, someone else has to
become poor. That is terrible!

You see, the problem with most people is that they think
in terms of money. They look at their bank accounts, they
look at their nation's economy, and then they conclude
that there is not enough money.
If you are going to be wealthy, you need a different set of
eyes. You need to begin seeing with a different light. You
need to begin evaluating using a different set of
standards.

As long as you keep thinking in terns of money, you will

always remain poor. This is what I mean: if you will be
sincere with yourself, you will probably agree that you
actually don't have enough money in your bank account.
You are probably doing a job that pays you so little
compared to what you would love to have. Based on your
present reality, money is scarce - at least to you. But
then, that seems to be the truth because what you are
focused on and considering is money.

But consider these things instead: what abilities do you

have? What needs exist in your society? What problems
are waiting to be solved in your society and in the world?
How many people exist in your nation? Do they have
needs that are not being met that they would really like to
be met?
If you will meditate deeply on those questions, you will
come to the conclusion that there is so much value to add
to the lives of the people in your nation and in the world.
And if there is so much value waiting to be generated,
then there is an abundance of money - for money is
simply a representation of value.
Will it take work to convert this raw value into commercial
value? Yes! But then, that is the price to pay. Remember
that we said life is a battle. You either fight to win or suffer
defeat for the rest of your life.
I want to speak to the so-called developing nations: you
cannot grow your economy and advance your nation by
going about with a begging bowl. A beggar is a person
who seeks to get money without giving value for it. But
really, nobody can beg his way to the top. If you are not
willing to generate surplus value, then you are not ready
to grow your nation. Nobody respects beggars. Only
meaningful contributors and partners are respected.

The economy grows by productivity, industry, creativity

and hard work. The more the people in a nation engage
in activities resulting in greater levels of productivity and
industry, the more the economy grows. More companies
are built, more skyscrapers are erected, and more
technologies are invented. Consequently, there is a
greater level of prosperity and happiness. The result is
that more money bills are printed in proportion to the level
of value that now exist; and the standard of living rises
greatly.
The economy will never grow as long as we keep on
looking for how to get everything for free. We must learn
to pay for value received, and to pay well too. This, at
least, compensates those who create value and
encourages them to do more. And as more value is
created, the economy grows. It is a beggar's mindset to
always be looking for how to get things without paying for
them. And a country of beggars will never grow. Beggars
cannot help beggars out of financial mess.
Refusing to pay is robbing the person who created that
value. Even the bible says that a labourer is worthy of his
pay. Economic transactions are what produce prosperity
and wealth in a nation: not charity. No wonder Africa is
still backwards despite having received aids worth billions
of dollars.

Chapter Eight
Developing the Mind
The most important tool that you need to generate value,
make money and create wealth is your MIND! The
greater the quality of your mind, the greater your ability to
make money and create wealth. You will not go further
than your mind allows you. This is not a mere
motivational cliché: it is the absolute truth.

Everything we see around us was first a thought in

someone's mind - the clothes on you, the car you drive,
the phone you use, and every single thing. Even the
universe was first a thought in God's mind. So everything
- tangible and intangible - began as a thought. Every
good and every service was first a thought. And thoughts
are created in the mind. Therefore everything we see is a
product of the mind. The quality of your mind determines
the quality of your life.
You will never advance beyond the level of development
of your mind. And this is why the bible says:

"Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by

the renewing of your mind."

The way you advance and increase is by upgrading and

updating your mind.
And when I talk about developing your mind, I am not
talking about going to school. Going to school gives you
the opportunity to develop your mind, but you can choose
not to develop your mind like many people who go
through school do.

Some of the ways by which the mind is developed are:

* Reading good books
* Observation
* Listening to good audios
* Attending seminars, conferences and workshops
* Deep thinking and meditation
* Exercising your mind against complex problems.

Reading
"Every man who knows how to read has it in his power to
magnify himself, to multiply the ways in which he exists,
to make his life full, significant, and interesting."
(Aldous Huxley)

"When books are opened, we discover that we have

wings."

(Helen Hayes)
There are many people who don't like to read. They hate
it. You see, the problem is not about reading. It is about
what you stand to lose if you don't read. Books contain
the knowledge, information, wisdom and experiences of
experts. When you settle down to read a good book, you
open up yourself to the privilege of acquiring those things.
Think about it: Was anything great ever discovered by a
total ignoramus? Did you ever hear of an ignorant,
unlearned, and illiterate man from one remote village in
the world who developed something so valuable to the
world today? Of what advantage is being a novice or an
ignoramus?

When you understand what you stand to gain from

reading, you will endure the pain and discipline of
reading. And eventually, you will come to the point where
reading becomes a habit.

Reading expands the mind. It opens you up to insights

that give you an edge in life.

Deep Thinking

Another habit that must be cultivated is deep thinking.

Gold nuggets are never found on the surface: you’ve got
to mine for them. In the same way, you don't find the
solutions to the things you are going through by casual
thinking. There must be a focused, concentrated, deep
thinking. You must have the NEVER-GIVE-UP attitude.
It's those who seek for solutions that will find them. And
seeking isn’t easy!
There was a man who became a global phenomenon by
doing this - Albert Einstein. He discovered some of the
most remarkable things about the universe - things like
the Space-time fabric, gravitational push, the E = MC^2
equation and several other stuff. His theories brought
about the discovery of black holes. And Albert Einstein
made those outstanding discoveries with nothing but his
mind, a pen and a paper. He never performed any
physical experiments. All the experiments he performed
were in his mind.
The man who knows how to use His mind will always be
greater than the man who doesn't.
But in other to maximally harness the capacity of the
mind, you must learn to ask questions - good questions.
Questions are the keys to discovery and knowledge. I
heard a man say: "A question opens up the mind but a
statement closes it. When you say, for instance, 'I can't
afford it!' or 'I can't do that!' your mind shuts down and
your words eventually become flesh. But when you ask,
'how can I afford it?' it opens up your mind to the infinite
amount of opportunities which are available.
Don't shy away from challenges. Rather use questions to
unlock their answers. Ask yourself:
Where am I financially?
Am I satisfied with my financial results?
What am I doing that is keeping me in this situation?
What can I do to get out of where I am to where I want to
be?
What steps do I need to take to advance financially?
Write down those questions and others that come to your
mind. And take time everyday to think up the answers to
those questions. This is also where reading becomes
useful. You can consult with good books to discover the
answers to some of your questions.

Develop Good and Profitable Skills

Many times we find people praying to God to give them a
financial miracle. There are those who fast, pray and
even give money out to get a financial breakthrough. I
want to state emphatically that those things are not
enough. And the proof that those things are not enough is
a whole group of people out there who are tired,
frustrated and angry with God because they fasted,
prayed, confessed the word and gave but then are still as
broke as they've ever been. Nothing seems to have
changed in their circumstances and they are mad at God
for it.
There is no need to be mad at God. There are principles
that exist in this world, and God doesn't break them.
There was a time Jesus Christ asked Peter to go to the
sea, cast a hook into it, take the first fish that came out
and open its mouth. Jesus said that peter would find a
coin in its mouth. And that was exactly how it happened.
The question is this: Why didn't Jesus send him to the
bush to hunt for an animal? Simple! Peter only had
fishing skills, not hunting skills.
Therefore, if God wants to give you provisions, He
channels those resources to you through systems and
pathways that you have created by yourself. These
systems and pathways are what we generally call
"Streams of Income".
Your skills can become major streams of income if you
develop and refine them to perfection.
What is a Skill?
"A skill is the ability to use one's knowledge effectively
and readily in execution or performance."
(Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
"A skill is an ability to do an activity or job well, especially
because you have practiced it."
(Cambridge Dictionary)
From the second definition, two things stand out: Mastery
and Practice.
This shows that there is a direct relationship between
mastery and practice. The more you practice an activity,
the more you master it. The ability that is derived from
practicing an activity so much that you end up mastering
it is what we call a SKILL.
One of the main things we find in the first definition is
KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION. What it means is that to
develop any skill, you must first acquire the relevant
knowledge. This implies that you have to do a lot of
reading and research, attend a lot of seminars and
workshops, listen to and watch a lot of audio and video
tutorials, and do a lot of practice if you are going to
develop a skill. And please don't tell me that you must
attend a very prestigious university like Harvard
University to acquire a great skill! In today's world, that
may not be necessary. The internet is saturated with so
much knowledge and information. Furthermore, there are
good courses that you can take online.
Folks, you have no excuse. You must develop relevant
and profitable skills: or you have no way to create
streams of income. It's not a choice! You are not going
anywhere, financially speaking, without good skills. Some
of the skills relevant to the 21st Century global citizen are
listed below. And I think I should add that you shouldn't
restrict yourself to just one. You will need a good
combination of several skills of them to make good
money.

Having a Skill is Not Enough!
I know this will shock some people, but it is the truth -
having a skill is not enough! A skill can be likened to a
tool for solving problems. It is like having a hammer. But
a hammer can be used for several things. You can use it
to construct a chair, you can use it to make a table, and
so on. So it's not enough to have a hammer - what are
you going to use it to do? In the same vein, it's not
enough to have a skill - what problem are you going to
solve with it? People are not going to call you just
because you have a good skill. There are thousands and
hundreds of thousands of people with the same skills, so
why should they call you?

You must begin to think of how to use those skills to

creatively solve major societal problems. Do not see
acquiring a skill as an end to itself. No! It should be a
means to an end. If you have video production and
editing skills, for instance, instead of waiting for people to
give you jobs to do, you could begin to create powerful
video products like movies, documentaries and so on.

So I ask again, now that you've got great skills, what

problems can you solve with them? What possibilities are
now open to you because of the skills that you now
possess? Now that you have developed great research
and writing skills, what books are you going to write that
would meet people's needs? Now that you have software
development skills, what software or mobile app are you
going to develop that will solve a major problem for the
society?
Developing Unique and Creative Abilities to
Solve Problems
You see, ultimately, what the world is looking for is not
what you know, but your ability to solve complex
problems with whatever knowledge you possess. In
today's world, nobody gives a damn what you studied in
school; and no one care about the degrees that you
possess. What they want is simple: what problems can
you solve for us? How can you help us? In what ways
can you make our lives and existence better?

Therefore, the goal of education is no longer to get a

degree, develop a skill, or acquire some esoteric
knowledge. The goal of education is to use whatever
resources that you possess within you to creatively solve
complex societal problems. And if you cannot do this,
then your education is a waste.

You must cut off entitlement mentality. Nobody owes you

anything. Nobody was sent into this world to create jobs
for you. And when you understand these things, you will
do whatever it takes to unleash the vast wealth of
potentials lying within you, using these potentials to make
the world a better place. Let nobody deceive you: there is
no worthless human being on the face of the earth.
Everyone had been blessed with so much. The problem
is that most people are too lazy to use what God gave to
them. Most people would rather have comfort, security
and pleasure than greatness and purpose.
The world around you is filled with so many problems.
Which ones are you gonna solve? Or are you going to
keep on going from one person to the other with a
beggar's bowl? Are you gonna keep on looking for who to
help you, or will you begin to solve problems for the world
today?
Value is generated by solving problems, meeting needs
and helping people. And if money is simply a
representation of value, it therefore means that money is
generated by solving problems, meeting needs and
helping people. I told you before and I am saying it again:
you can create money from thin air. This implies that you
don't have to beg, steal, bribe, kill or defraud anyone to
make money. You just need to generate value.
Use Your Mind Properly: Think Globally
Listen, you have a gift from God: it is your mind! Your
mind is your most valuable asset. If you ignore your mind
and refuse to use it, you will remain poor, broke, and
defeated. There ain't anybody on earth who's going to do
your thinking for you. You must use your mind and use it
well.
Think outside of the box. Challenge the status quo.
Refuse to limit yourself. Use tough and powerful
questions.
Yes, you must learn to ask good questions. I cannot
overemphasize this: Questions are the keys to
discoveries. If there are questions, it is because there are
solutions waiting to be discovered. Questions are gifts
from God to help us make progress and advance in life. If
God wants to help a man, He fills the man's heart with the
right questions. Questions are the seed of discoveries.
Ask questions; and don't be satisfied until you have found
the answers to those questions. Some of the questions
you should ask are:

How do I advance from this point?

What do I do?
What possibilities are hidden in my situations?
How can I harness them?

Lastly, think globally. This world has become a global

village. You don't have to be dependent on the economy
of your nation only. You don't have to be limited by your
nation or economy. You can trade and do business with
virtually any person around the world, from your own
nation. You don't have to go to the United States of
America to do business there. The world has evolved,
and it is still evolving. It is becoming more and more a
global village. Therefore you should not only be thinking
of solving problems common to the people in your locality
or nation alone. You must become global in your thinking
and approach to life. Why limit yourself to your nation
when the whole world is yours for the taking?
Get on the global stage. Create a global presence. Doing
this makes the whole world your market.
Your Sins- past, present and future
- are forgiven!
The most destructive force on earth is not nuclear
bomb, poverty, or physical death. It is sin. Sin is the
most dangerous force on the planet. And sin is the
greatest threat to the human family, not the other
things that people talk about.
Consider for instance the fact that we make powerful
instruments and use them against ourselves. We use
them to kill and destroy one another.
The poverty that's ravaging the whole earth is
systemic. In many parts of the world, you have
people who deliberately steal and horde resources
for the masses, keeping the masses in penury. We
develop great drugs and keep them from people.
Think of the fact that we consider ourselves to be
civilised but we still make a mess of our homes and
relationships. We are the problem - not climate
change, pathogens, or anything. There is something
fundamentally wrong with the human family, and
that thing is SIN! This is why every good thing we
produce ends up being used for evil and destruction!
Sin is literally destroying our civilization. And it is
destroying our species.
If sin is the most dangerous force on earth, then it
means that the greatest blessing we could ever
receive as a species would be complete and total
riddance from the power, guilt and consequences of
sin. And this was what Jesus Christ did for us.
By His death on the cross, he purchased for us
complete and total forgiveness of sin, and He
destroyed totally the power of sin over us.
Therefore, everyone who believes in the suffering,
death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and
confesses Him as Lord becomes saved from the
power, guilt and consequences of sin. As a result,
their sins - past, present, and future - are forgiven,
cancelled and forgotten. God does not hold anything
against them. Furthermore, their nature is totally
changed and they become new creatures.
The question is: Do you believe in what Jesus did?
Chapter Nine
Developing a Good Business Plan
I am not going to give an indepth teaching of a good
business plan. It would take an entire book to do so; and
there are good materials that deal exclusively on the
subject. I recommend the book, HOW TO WRITE A
BUSINESS PLAN, by Mike McKeever. It is a very good
one.
However, I am going to deal with some fundamental
issues regarding this topic. And the first of them is the
idea that you don't need a business plan. Now I want you
to get this straight: You do need a business plan even if
you do not intend to present your business idea to would-
be investors.
A business plan is a guide. It is a step-by-step action
strategy on how you intend to make your business idea a
reality.
A business is a commercial system constructed for the
generation, distribution and exchange of value for profits.
Your skill is bundle of value. And if you decide to sell it, it
involves a whole lot. You need to know who needs it,
where to locate and meet them, how to take it to them,
how to convince them to buy from you and how to sell
profitably. You also need to know how to make people to
keep on patronizing you. All of these things are not as
simple as they seem. They involve a whole lot of details.
It is one thing to have a skill, but it is another thing to get
people to patronize you. It is one thing to manufacture a
product, but it is another thing to convince people to buy it
from you. And this process is as complex as human
behavior is. To ensure that you do not end up wasting
your time, energy, and resources, you have to plan very
well. You have to win on paper first before you win in real
life. You have to effectively map out how you are going to
transform your business idea or skill into a profitable
business. And this involves asking and answering several
vital questions honestly.
It is in the planning phase that you determine if your
business idea or skill is viable. That is, you are able to
determine if your business venture could work. Now this
is not entirely correct: and it is because, in reality, no
business plan, no matter how perfect it is, can really
guarantee that a business idea will work. Nevertheless,
preparing a good business plan will help to increase your
chances of success. If in the planning phase you discover
that there is little or no market for your idea, you discard it
and look for a much more viable one. I remember a
business that I got into thinking that I was going to make
quick money out of it. But I did not plan well. The
business looked good at the surface, but there were
holes in it. And because I didn't prepare very well, I ended
up losing my money and wasting my time.

So I learnt a lesson: no matter how good a business

venture looks at the surface, make sure you plan
thoroughly before getting into it. Another thing is that
there is no quick money anywhere. Usually, you lose
more money from get-rich-quick schemes than you make.

Now the following questions are not the only questions

that you must answer, but they are some of the most
important ones. Never get into any business until you
have satisfactorily answered them:

(1) Are there potential customers for what you intend to

sell? ( Please do not assume. Do not say that because
you like it, others would like it too.)
(2) How are you going to get your products or services to
those customers? (This is a question of marketing and
delivery.)

(3) How do you start with what you have, where you are,
and then grow from there? (A lot of times, it may be
difficult to find an investor. But you must plan how to do
that business on a small scale and then grow it from
there.)

Please like I said, this is a step that YOU MUST NOT

SKIP! Dedicate enough time and effort to it. And do not
limit yourself to one business idea or skill alone. I advise
you to come up with nothing less than 15 business ideas
that can be transformed into good business. By the time
you start drawing your business plan for those ideas, you
probably might be left with just 5 or 7 which you know are
workable. Then you can develop those ideas into much
more robust plans.

Chapter Ten
The Internet and Technology
The internet is one of the greatest things that ever
happened in human history. It is totally amazing and
revolutionary. The internet connects the entire world in a
way that cannot be done otherwise. It has made the world
a global village. Today, your next-door neighbor could be
somebody living in another country.

The internet has changed everything: business, love,

entertainment, education, family, and religion. It has
brought about a vast amount of possibilities. Therefore, it
is irresponsible ignore and underestimate it. It is really
stupid not to take advantage of it. For instance, there are
billions of pages of information currently on the internet,
and more are constantly being uploaded. You therefore
cannot use ignorance as an excuse. If you have a mobile
device and an internet connection, you can access those
billions of pages of information on the internet.
So what are you going to do? Will you take advantage of
the internet for your good, or will you ignore it? For a lot
of people, most of what they do on the internet is to watch
movies, music or comedy videos, or to chat and upload
pictures. It is terrible! Do not let that be you. There is so
much that you can do on the internet. You can sell and
make money, legitimately, on the internet. So take
advantage of it. Do something with it. Be intentional. If
you leave your life to chance, you will not like where you
will end up. Do not follow the majority. Make up your mind
to put into practice the things you have learnt from this
book. Make up your mind to use the internet and other
technologies to move your life forward. Nobody owes
anything - not even your parents.
Chapter Eleven
Time is Money
It is true that wealth is first and foremost a mindset. It is
this wealth mindset that eventually creates the material
wealth and abundance around a person. If a demon
wants to keep you in poverty, he gives you a mindset.
Yes, that's what they do! If the mountain does not move
in your mind, it will not move in your life. If the mindset
that you have is not for wealth creation, you will never
ever create wealth.

If your entire life can be likened to a river, the source of

this river is your mind. This is why you must first change
the mind if you intend changing the man. Your mindset is
your program. A program is a set of instructions that tell a
computer what to do. If your program is for failure, you
will always fail. If your program is for lack and poverty,
you will always live in lack and poverty. You will simply
flesh out the program that is in your mind. But the good
thing about is that you can reprogram your mind.
Poor people do not value what God gave to them - their
gifts, talents, abilities, skills, resources, relationships, time
and energy. And because they don't value those things,
they don't put them into productive use. They hide and
bury what they have. They say to themselves: "this is not
enough to produce material abundance and wealth for
me." So they do virtually nothing with whatever God gave
to them. But wealthy people know that if you faithfully and
productively use those "little" things, they grow and
become much bigger and greater.

The Lord Jesus Christ told a story of three servants who

were given different amounts of money to invest in a
business by their master. The last servant went ahead to
bury and hide the money he was given. He did not so
much as deposit the money in the bank so that it would
gain interests. He never used his mind to think of how to
use what he had been given. And the result was that
what was given to him by his master was taken back from
him and given to a much more productive servant.

So you see, if you don't put into productive use whatever

you have, the universe was designed to ensure you lose
it. It's called the USE IT OR LOSE IT principle.

Time is probably the most important asset that anyone

has. And it's because there's nothing you could ever do
or achieve if you weren't alive. Whatever you can do or
achieve is only possible because you are alive on earth -
because you've got TIME! You get other things by using
your time. For instance, you acquire knowledge by using
your time to read a book. And so what you do with your
time will determine the outcome of your life.
Money, like we have said, is one of the ways value is
quantified and measured. Using money to measure value
helps a lot to make you see how precious it is. This gives
you the consciousness of responsibility. It makes you
prevent wasting it. It makes you put it into productive use.
So by assigning numerical value (money) to your time,
you are able to avoid wasting it. And you are also able to
use it judiciously and productively.

By assigning monetary value to your time and other

resources, you are teaching yourself to value properly the
things that God gave to you. You are forcing yourself to
put your time and other resources into maximum and
productive use. You are forcing your mind to come up
with ways to produce the material equivalent of your time.

Time is limited and scarce. Money is limitless and infinite.

The fundamental principles of Economics teach that
something which is scarce and limited is much more
valuable than something which is infinite. So I ask you,
how much does your time cost? What is the monetary
value of your time? Set out the cost of your time per hour.
For instance, you could say:
Value of my time per hour = $10,000

Total number of hours in a year = 24 hours × 365 days =

8,760 hours

Therefore, the value of a year = 8,760 × $10,000 =

$87,600,000

Monthly Value = $87,600,000 ÷ 12 = $7,300,000

If that is indeed the monthly value of your time, it means
that you cannot afford to waste your time or to use it
unproductively. It means that you MUST make every hour
count. It means that it is better to spend money and save
time, than to spend time and save money. If you accept
the calculations above as true, you will do everything
possible to make every hour produce $10,000 or its
equivalent. This implies that you will and can never feel
comfortable working for $3000 a month. You will do
everything, with God's help, to make sure that each hour
produces for you $10,000 or its equivalent.

Do you see what I am doing? I am putting pressure on

you to perform, to use your mind. (Without this kind of
pressure, you will most likely never maximize your true
potentials.) I am taking you out of your comfort zone. I am
expanding your mind. I am causing your mind to see and
believe that it could produce $10,000 per hour. I am
putting pressure on you to unleash the vast financial
potentials that God put within you. I am also helping you
see how valuable you truly are. You probably didn't think
you were this valuable - but you are! God made you
special. How dare you settle for less! How dare you settle
for less than nothing! Why have you decided to go to the
grave with the riches that God placed within you? Why
have you decided to remain and die in your comfort
zone? You are worth much more than $10,000 per
month. Use your mind to produce powerful things that the
world will need. Unleash the wealth within you.
Don't spend time: spend money. If you have to choose
between spending time and spending money, spend
money and save time. The poor spend time and save
money. The rich spend money and save time.

Remember that I said time is scarce and limited while

money is limitless and infinite. Therefore, money is by far
cheaper than time and is worth a whole lot less. Spend
your time doing those things that cannot be done with
money. For instance, you can't pay people to relate with
God for you. You can't pay them to pray, study and
meditate on God's word for you. You can't pay them to
relate and have fun with your wife and kids for you. You
can't pay them to read, think and develop your abilities
and skills for you. You can't pay them to do physical
exercise and sleep for you. These things can only be
done for you, by you. But the ones that you can pay
people with money to do for you, do not hesitate to pay
them money to do them. This is how the truly wealthy and
most effective people think.

Lastly, create products and sell. Use your time to create

products, and then sell them. For instance, if you are a
Life Coach, there is a limited amount of persons that you
can coach per day - since there are only 24 hours in a
day. But if you create products, there is no limit to how
many persons you can help per day. If, for example, you
do a video course, you can sell that product to as many
as would want to buy it. Therefore, sell products: don't
sell time!
Chapter Twelve
Translating an Idea into Reality
The process of translating any idea or business
opportunity into a profitable business venture involves 3
stages. And it's very important that you know and
understand what these stages are so that you would not
be confused when you start going through them: because
you will SURELY go through them. It's a MUST!
The 3 stages are:
1. The Excitement Stage
2. The Endurance Stage
3. The Achievement Stage.
The Excitement Stage
Every project usually begins with excitement. There are
new hopes - very high ones. The future seems bright and
the sky looks crystal clear. Everything looks possible.
You're are filled with enthusiasm and zeal for this project.
You're so much passionate about it. Whether you are
starting a business, a ministry, a church, an organization,
or a new family (or marriage), you begin from this stage.
The Endurance Stage
This is the point where things start getting difficult and
complicated. Unexpected problems begin to arise. Things
are not working as expected. There is so much delay in
the manifestation of your hopes and desires. There are
so many complications. You are losing funds. People are
not buying like you thought they would. They're not as
interested in what you are selling as you envisioned.
Investors are not responding like you expected, or the
people that promised you money aren't fulfilling their
promise. And at this point, you get tired, fed up, and feel
like giving up and abandoning the project.
This is where most people stop. They just turn their back
on their visions and dreams. At this point, you find that
you're literally dragging yourself just to continue working
on the project because all of your enthusiasm seems to
have evaporated. Everything seems tiring and the future
looks very dark, with no ray of hope. This is the hardest
stage in the process of translating that business
opportunity into a successful venture.

The Achievement Stage

Those who persevere through the endurance stage, and
who patiently and painstakingly solve all the problems of
that stage, progress into the achievement stage. This
achievement stage is the point where it seems that you
are beginning to reap the fruits of all your labour. Results
are showing up, you're beginning to see success, and the
future seems bright again. There is new energy, new
zeal, new enthusiasm to continue working on that project.
How to Ensure You Reach the Achievement Stage
• You must understand that these 3 stages are real and
that they are a normal part of life in our world. You are not
the first to experience them and you will not be the last.
Every great achiever that has ever existed on this earth
passed through these 3 stages. You see, when you
understand that all great people went through these
stages, it has a way of helping you persevere through the
endurance stage.
• Write out clearly and emphatically all the reasons why
you have to succeed in that project. Make sure they are
compelling and emotional enough. Make sure that they
stir up both pain and pleasure in you. They should stir up
the pain of not achieving them.
• What things will you lose if you don't succeed? How will
your life turn out negatively? What painful experiences
would you go through because you didn't succeed? (Be
as detailed and graphic as possible. Paint a clear, visual
story.
• Next, write out all the things you would enjoy and gain
because you succeeded. Paint a graphic picture. Make
sure this picture stimulates joy, excitement and hope in
you.
• Understand that there are a thousand and one ways to
reach your goals. Be very flexible. While your ultimate
objectives may never change, the ways by which you
reach them may change. So be open to new ideas. Think
of different possibilities and ways of reaching your goals.
Think of different possibilities and ways of reaching your
goals. Write down a list of all the problems preventing you
from reaching your goals and begin to think of the
different ways to solve them.
Be creative and innovative. Read books, listen to audios,
watch videos of people who worked on similar projects to
find out how they overcame the challenges that they
encountered. Find out what they did that helped them
succeed.
To buttress my point, I will talk a little about the Chinese
billionaire, Jack Ma. When he went to USA for the first
time, he discovered the opportunity created by the
Internet. And he decided to take advantage of this
opportunity and create wealth for himself. He went back
to China and began a company called, China Pages.
China Pages was a company that created websites for
Chinese companies, so that those in the west could find
out about these Chinese companies. However, China
Pages didn't succeed like Jack Ma envisioned: so he shut
it down. But he refused to give up on his dream to
harness the opportunities that the internet had brought
forth and create wealth for himself. As a result, he began
another internet company, Alibaba, that served as a
platform for small businesses in China to trade with one
another and with people in other parts of the world. This
company went on to become very successful. So you
see, even though his original objective remained the
same, the way by which he achieved that objective
changed. He was flexible. He didn't allow the seeming
setbacks stop him from advancing towards his goal.

So be creative. Ask God to open your eyes to see what to

do. Think outside of the box.
Write out the ideas as they begin to come into your mind
without trying to judge whether they are reasonable or
not. You can do that later. Write down as many ideas as
possible. Then take the best ideas and begin to
implement. The bible reveals that it is the doer of the
word that is blessed: so act on those ideas.
• Think through every problem until you find a way to
solve them. In fact, as you meditate, you will encounter
several problems in your thinking that have not yet
manifested. This is what I mean: Let's say you're trying to
start a fish farming business and you're so excited about
it because it's a lucrative business. One of the problems
that would come up in your mind if you think deep enough
is the fact of how to maintain a healthy aquatic
environment so that all your fingerlings don't die. If you
meditate deep enough you will realize that this is a real
problem that could drive you out of business. And you
would also discover your need for the relevant knowledge
or expertise to manage and solve that problem. You
could decide to get it yourself or you could decide to hire
an expert to help you in this area. This is why it is very
important to think through on every problem.
So think through and create possible problems in your
mind that could go wrong with that project, and then solve
those problems in your mind. Find out alternatives.
Develop plan A, plan B, plan C, plan D and so on. It is not
lack of faith. It is wisdom. It shows that you understand
systems. It shows that you possess the ability to think in
systems. It shows that you understand complex thinking.
• Develop possibility mindset. You must believe that
anything is possible: because if you don't, nothing will
work for you. If you don't have this mindset, you will give
up at the slightest appearance of difficulty.
It was Thomas Edison who said that genius is 1 per cent
inspiration and 99 per cent perspiration. Having studied
the lives and experiences of scores of great achievers
(and also from my own personal experience) I have found
out that the 99 per cent perspiration that Thomas Edison
was referring to can be further broken into 70 per cent
mental labour and 29 per cent physical labour. In other
words, 70 per cent of success requires deep mental
labour. This is why EVERY GREAT ACHIEVER will tell
you that having the right mindset is absolutely important
in becoming successful. If you don't believe things would
work, they won't work! Period!
I am going to be giving a powerful example with Thomas
Edison. In 1876, Thomas Edison established the first
industrial research laboratory in the world. In a period
when people viewed invention as an act of God, a "divine
accident", Thomas Edison envisioned turning out a minor
invention every ten days and a big one every six months
or so. People thought he was just bluffing but a list of his
patents ran to about forty a year. Thomas Edison
believed producing powerful inventions every year was
possible, and he achieved it. Just like the bible said, it
was unto him (Thomas Edison) according to his faith. And
he went on to create the world's system of generating,
distributing and domesticating electricity. He opened up
an entire industry and created massive wealth because
he believed it was possible.
• Ascertain all the resources that you have presently at
your disposal, no matter how little, and find out how to
use them to solve the challenges confronting you. Do not
(and I repeat, do not) underestimate any thing that you
have. David killed Goliath with a stone and a catapult.
The bible tells us about a young widow that came to the
prophet Elisha for help. She was in a financial crisis and
her creditors were threatening to take away her sons
because of the debt she owed them. Elisha asked her
what she had. But she responded that she had nothing;
however, she added she had a little pot of oil at home.
Elisha instructed her to go back home and borrow a lot of
empty containers from her neighbours. Then he
instructed her to pour oil from her little pot into those
containers. As she did that, she noticed that that little pot
of oil was used to fill up all of those empty containers.
She had just received a miracle. But that miracle was
performed using an insignificant, seemingly useless, pot
of oil.
Most people have their eyes on the big stuff. The guy with
100,000 naira thinks it's not enough to begin a business
with, while the fellow with 100 million naira thinks it's not
enough to run his business venture. But you see, God
uses the small, seemingly insignificant, resources you
have to perform the miracle that you desire. Therefore, do
not look down on the things you have. Your skills, talents,
abilities, knowledge, experience, expertise etc. could be
very vital in helping you reach your goals.
Find out what you have: write a list of all that you possess
- tangible and intangible. Don't neglect anything. Then
begin to think creatively about how to use them to solve
the problems that you are faced with. It could be a skill
that you have. You could trade with that skill and use it to
make the money you require to finance your business. So
don't underestimate anything.
Appendix A
There’s no natural resource called MONEY! It wasn’t God
that created money - men did! What this means is that
money is a human invention. And if you think in terms of
money, you will always be limited, you will always be broke,
and you will always be poor.

Look beyond money. Ask yourself, “What does money

represent?” The answer, of course, is value. Value is
created when we
1. Answer questions
2. Meet needs
3. Solve problems.
Value is created when we use our abilities, resources,
energy and time to meet the needs of people. Every time
you give to someone something that answers their
questions, meets their needs, or makes them better, you
have just created value for them.

If someone were seeking for a job, and you told the person
about a place where he could get one. If he went there and
got the job, you succeeded in creating value for the person.
Yet you didn’t give him a dime. You didn’t give him anything
tangible. You gave him something intangible (a piece of
information) that met his need and solved his problem. This
value you created for him can be quantified with money.
And this happens when you charge for it.

Civilization does not run on money. It runs on

productivity. Productivity simply means creation of value!
The more value people create, the more productive they
are said to be.
So what drives civilization isn’t money. Civilization will fall
and crumble if everyone ceases to be productive – that
is, if everyone stops creating value.
If you print money and no one is producing anything, that
money becomes useless! But even without money, our
nations will thrive when everyone is creating value.
So the real questions to ask are:
What gaps exist in society?
What needs and problems are begging for solutions?
What do people want?
How can you fill those gaps?
What products or services can you create that would
solve those problems?
How can you get those products and services to the
people that want them?
Where and how do you find enough of these folks?
It’s not about how much you have in your bank account:
it’s about what you can produce. It’s about what you can
contribute to the development, advancement, growth and
progress of society. Once you find that thing, you have
found your GOLDMINE!
LET ME SAY IT AGAIN: IT’S NOT ABOUT THE
AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU HAVE IN YOUR BANK
ACCOUNT CURRENTLY. IT’S ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN
PRODUCE. EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY
IN YOUR ACCOUNT, IF YOU CAN PRODUCE AND
BEGIN TO SELL TO A GREAT AMOUNT OF PEOPLE
PRETTY SOON, YOU WILL HAVE MORE MONEY IN
YOUR ACCOUNT TO LAST YOU A LIFETIME!
Therefore, wealth is NOT outside of you: it’s inside of
you. The money is in you. Dig it out.
Appendix B

Myth 1: You need to go to school to become educated and

successful and to become relevant in the society.
Truth: You don’t need to go to school to become educated
an d successful, or to even become relevant in the society.
As a matter of fact, School conditions you to accumulate
facts and follow the majority. But it does not train you to
think critically and solve complex real-life problems.
Myth 2: You need to go to school to get good jobs.
Truth: This would have been true if we had a lot of great
jobs out there. But we don’t! There are millions of
graduates out there who are unemployed. The times have
changed. Schooling no longer guarantees getting a job.
The truth now is that most of us must become job creators,
and school doesn’t train us for this.
Myth 3: You need to go to school to make money and
become rich.
Truth: School does not teach or train you to create wealth
and make money. School actually conditions you to end up
broke and poor.
Myth 4: School gives you certificates that you can
showcase to people.
Truth: Certificates have been hyped. What is the goal of
education? Is it certification or the ability to use what has
been learnt to solve real-life problems? Of what good is
having a “great” certificate if you cannot solve real-life
problems? Your certificate is useless if you cannot translate
the information you acquired into tangible results.
Certification has been overestimated and overrated. The
real proof of education is the ability to use what you have
learnt to solve real-life problems.
Myth 5: “I can’t be successful because I haven’t been to a
school!”
Truth: Real education is far much more than feeding the
mind with facts. It is training the mind in the art of critical
thinking and problem solving. It’s not just about what you
think but also how you think. Besides, the internet is filled
with so much information - both premium and free.
Anyone who’s really serious will begin to take advantage
of the internet.
More so, every human being is a bundle of value. There
is so much value in you. What education does is to renew
your thinking and refine who you are. God has already
blessed you with the abilities you require to become
successful and wealthy in life.
Myth 6: Africa is so poor and disadvantaged. What good
could possibly come out of this place? We all need to
travel out of this continent.
Truth: Africa is the richest continent in terms of natural
resources even though it houses the poorest people on
earth. The truth is, no nation ever became wealthy and
great solely because it possesses natural resources. For
instance, the only reason crude oil is valuable is because
there are machines that run on it, and there are also other
powerful products that it is used to produced. What if
those machines and products didn’t exist? Wouldn’t crude
oil be useless – a curse to farmlands?
Ultimately, it is the human mind that gives value to every
natural resource. It is the human mind that made the
cars and refined the crude oil. It is the human mind that
transforms useless natural resources to useful products.
Myth 7: “I cannot create wealth . I don’t have what it
takes!”
Truth: Anything is possible! If you believe you can, you
can. If you believe you can’t, you can’t. It’s as simple as
that!
Myth 8: “Our leaders are the problem. They have made
life so difficult for the common man. They’re the reason
for the high level of poverty in Africa.
Truth: It’s true that African leaders are a big part of the
problem, but as long as you keep on blaming other
people for where you are, you will never make any
progress in life. Until you believe that you are the sole
determinant of your success or failure, you will not put in
all that it takes to succeed. The questions are: what are
you going to do with your life? What will you do about
your circumstances? Will you just fold your arms? Will
you leave your destiny to chance? Nothing will move until
you move! The ball is in your court!
