OVERVIEW

 Greater Noida is a
planned city located in
Gautam Buddha
Nagar district of the
Indian state of Uttar
Pradesh.
 The city was created
as an extension to
Noida area under the
UP Industrial Area
Development Act,
1976
OVERVIEW

 It provides for Planning, Developing, Regulating


and Operations under a Single Authority -
GNIDA.
 In Year 1991 total number villages notified were 101.
 In Year 1994 additional 23 number of villages were
notified & total number was 124.
 In Year 2006 additional 188 villages were notified as
development area for further Expansion of Greater Noida
Area.
 Presently total number of villages notified with GNIDA
and its expansion area are 293 after a few modifications
as done by U.P. State Government.
OVERVIEW

 Greater Noida City has the Critical Mass and


Primate City characteristics as being part of a
continuum of an Urban agglomeration:
 * 5,075 Ha. already urbanized in Phase I
 * Urbanizable area of 22,255 Ha. by year 2021
 * City planned for a population of 0.7 million by year 2011
and 1.2 million by year 2021
 * Industry led development - 4201 Ha. to be developed by
2021
 * Residential development – 5000 Ha. to be developed by
2021
OVERVIEW

 Greater Noida Notified Area - 38000 Ha


comprising of 124 villages.
 First Master Plan-2011 was prepared in 1992
 Outline Development Plan 2001 Approved by NCR
Planning Board in 1996:
 2 Sub-regional Centres Surajpur and Kasna
 Total Population 3.00 Lakh population (1.5 lakh each)
 Total Urbanisable area - 5075 Ha. (including UPSIDC
area).

 The role of the District administration practically


covers a wide range and touches almost every area to
maintain cordial, congenial and peaceful atmosphere
in the District.
 The functions and Responsibilities of District
Magistrate may be broadly classified under three
heads
 As Collector for the collection of Revenue
 As Magistrate to maintain Law & Order
 As District officer representative of the govt to implement
programs with the active co-operation of the people,
coordinating with the departments in the district
GAUTAM BUDDHA NAGAR DISTRICT

 The Tehsil play a pivotal role in the District administration.


 Sub Divisonal Magistrate in the Cadre of P.C.S heads the Tehsil.
He acts as the Sub Divisonal Magistrate for maintaining Law and
Order in his jurisdiction. He deals mainly with law and order,
scheduled areas/agency areas, general elections, revenue cases, public
grievance, civil supplies etc.
 The Tehsildar who also belongs to P.C.S Cadre assists SDM is his
day to day activities like Revenue administration under various
enactments in the Tehsil. He is also designated as Additional District
Magistrate. He deals mainly with law and order, scheduled
areas/agency areas, general elections, revenue cases, public grievance,
civil supplies etc.
 GautamBuddha Nagar has 3 tehsils namely
 Sadar
 Dadri
 Jewar

 There are 4 Blocks in the district


 Bisrakh
 Dadri
 Dankaur
 Jewar
 There are a total of 423 Villages in the district, of
which
 Notified Villages: 287
 Nyay Panchayat: 14
 Gram Panchayat: 88
 Revenue Village: 120
 Habitat Village: 112
 Non Habitat Village: 8
