OUTLINING'
It serves as a road map or blueprint
when writing. It helps organize the
ideas as it shows the hierarchical
relationship or logical ordering of
information. There are two ways to
write your outline:

a. Topic outline – uses
words or phrases as
headings, without
punctuation
b. Sentence outline
– uses full
sentences
FOUR PRINCIPLES IN
CREATING AN EFFECTIVE
OUTLINE
● Parallelism – putting the
words in the same
grammatical order (parallel
grammatical structure)
● Coordination – arranging
ideas according to their value
or importance; ideas of the of
the same relevance or value
are labeled in the same way.
● Subordination
– arranging ideas in levels
of significance: major and
minor
● Division
– separating the kinds of points
you are making by using
a consistent basis
of division and distinction.
USING GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS
– Graphic organizers are visual and
graphic displays that show the
relationships among concepts or ideas.
There are many different kinds of graphic
organizers depending on the type of
information being organized.
DESCRIPTIVE THEMATIC MAP
DESCRIPTIVE THEMATIC MAP
also called a special-purpose, single-topic,
or statistical map. A thematic map focuses
on the spatial variability of a specific
distribution or theme (such as population
density or average annual income),
whereas a reference map focuses on the
location and names of features.
NETWORK TREE MAP
NETWORK TREE MAP
A network tree concept map is a form of
concept map that is drawn in a way
similar to a family tree. The central
concept is written at the top with the
secondary concepts related to the main
concept are written below with lines
connecting them to the main concept
PROBLEM SOLUTION MAP
PROBLEM SOLUTION MAP
represents a logical analysis of available
data leading toward a solution. In other
words, a problem solution map uses
the given data to provide a solution
to the problem.
COMPARE AND CONTRAST
COMPARE AND CONTRAST
- It is a graphic organizer type
used to visualize differences
and comparisons between
two ideas.
FISHBONE MAP
is a type of graphic organizer that is
used to explore the many aspects or
effects of a complex topic, helping
the student to organize their
thoughts in a simple, visual way.
Problem-solution
-It is a method for analyzing and
writing about a topic that identifies a
problem and consequently provides
one or more solutions to it.
