Blue Whales
Last week I wrote about a new collection of poems published (0) by survivors of the Tōhoku tsunami
of 2011. Today, however, I want to tell you about an encounter I had in Iceland with someone whose
research subjects have nothing to fear from even the most powerful waves.
Before I found Hermann Thordarson sitting in the small fishing boat, I (1) _______________ hoped to
avoid going near the water. I don’t swim well, and the thought of being lifted out of sea by (2)

Our chemistry teacher, Mr Erlenmeyer, took us on a wonderful school trip in (0) C to learn more about
