This document details instructions to install the Windows version of the ​Golden Race VBox​.

Audience
We assume that the reader possesses advanced knowledge in IT and System Administration and
general knowledge in gaming and betting terminology and concepts.

Instructions

Uninstall the previous version (​if any​)

1. Stop the current instance of the Windows Box (press the “Exit” button at the Toolbar VBOX
icon):

2. Open the “Windows setting”, panel and select “Apps”:

3. Uninstall all the “VBOX” app or “VBoxCashier” components:

4. In the C:\Users\...\​.vbox​ folder (“​show hidden files”​ enabled), delete the following files, if
they exist:

● GoldenSettings
● GoldenSettings.json
● GoldenSettings.json.back
● DownloadCache folder

Installation
1. Double-click on the file “setup.exe” to start the process. Make sure you have Administrator
Privileges (right-click).

2. Install “​Bonjour Print Services​ for Windows” at the beginning of the procedure by pressing
the “Install” button.

3. If the SmartScreen is activated, the following message will be displayed, click on “More info”
and choose “Run anyway”:

4. If you are prompted by the “User Account Control”, please click [Yes].
5. When the Security Warning is displayed, click on Install button:

Please, wait until the installation process is complete.

5. When the installation process is complete, the following message will be displayed, click on
“More info” and select “Run anyway”

6. If the following message is displayed, You must allow the communications of the software
through the Windows Firewall. Check on “Private Networks, suck as a workplace network”
and press [Allow access].

7. Once the installation is done, the software will start automatically. Register the entity
associated with the VBOX application, replacing the Hardware ID by default with the HWID
configured in your entity.

8. At the VBOX Manager, select and setup the Default thermal printer of your VBOX entity
entering into the “Print” tab.

After selecting the default printer that appears in the drop-down list, press the "Update"
button and close the VBOX application from the Device Admin Panel (System Tab).

1. In the “C:\Users\...\​.vbox\media​” folder, a new folder should be created for each game with
this nomenclature:
○ kart
○ dog
○ motorbike
○ dirttrack

2. In each folder must copy the OCV of the corresponding game:

Configuration

Hardware-Id
Once installed, the application will automatically launch.

If the computer where the application has been installed has never been used as a VBox, you must
assign a Hardware ID (HID) to the application.

NOTE: You can require the list of HID to our support team (skype: golden-race) or find it using the
Back Office (Settings).

To browse the HID in Backoffice follow these steps:

1. Find the desire Unit in your Backoffice:

3. Go to Credentials and you can find this information in Account > GUID Credential:

To register the HID in Golden Box there are several options:

1. Method 1: Use Box Manager

1. Browse the desired Unit in your BackOffice (​see instructions above)​ . Select and copy
the Hardware ID from the Credentials section at the bottom of this page – it is in the
box GUID Credential

2. Enter into the Box Manager > login panel or type the IP localhost
(http://192.168.2.62/) in the address bar of your web browser, to enter into the
login panel.

3. Then paste it into the Hardware ID box on the Product Selector

4. Click Update to register the box as the desired existing Unit

2. Method 2: Update the file GoldenSettings.json

1. Edit the file, to do this:

a. Enter in Document folder in your PC and open the file GoldenSettings.json
with Notepad or a similar simple text editor, or
b. enter the following instruction in the address bar of your Documents folder:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\GoldenSettings (GoldenSettings in
Documents) to edit the file directly with Notepad or a similar simple text
editor.

2. Enter the Hardware ID like in the example below:

Start the app

After the installation, it is possible to run the application by clicking on the “VBOX” icon on the
Windows Desktop.

At any time you can open the Box Manager and use the “About” tab to check the version.

Troubleshooting

Ensure all Windows Updates are installed

If you are using Windows 7, it is vital that all important Windows Updates have been installed. To do
this, open Windows Update and search for updates. If any Important updates are found, install
them. Once this process is completed, reboot the machine, and search for updates again, and install
any Important updates again, until no more Important updates are found.

Disable the Antivirus

Make sure that your firewall or antivirus don’t block the software communications. In case of issues
(frozen application), try to disable Windows Defender or any other Antivirus or add specific rules to
your Firewall and Antivirus.

Allow communications through Port 8080

The port 8080 must be open.

Missing library MSVCP140.dll

Download and install the package vc_redist.x86.exe (Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio )
here: ​https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Click on Download and select the correct package.

Missing library API-MS-WIN-CRT-RUNTIME-I1-1-0.dll

In order to fix this issue, do the following:

● Check if the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable is installed on the PC, if so, uninstall
it.
● It's highly recommendable downloading and installing all the updates needed for Windows.

● Download and install the ​Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 x86 and x64
version (if it is used Windows 64 bits).
