Classwork Nutrition and Interaction (Type 1)

This document contains biology classwork questions about nutrition and interaction in living things. Question 1 asks about the difference between autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition at the cellular level. Question 2 asks whether carnivorous plants are autotrophic or heterotrophic. Question 3 asks students to identify examples as stimuli or responses. Question 4 asks about the stimulus and response when sunflowers move in relation to the sun's position. Question 5 asks for an example of a stimulus and response important for safety and why it is important.

BIOLOGY CLASSWORK

TOPIC: NUTRITION AND INTERACTION IN LIVING THINGS

1. Look at the two diagrams below. Explain with your own words: what’s the difference
between autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition at cellular level?

2. Read this paragraph and answer the question.

“Carnivorous plants are plants that have some

movement mechanisms that allow them to catch
some insects and to decompose their bodies into
small substances just like minerals, and small
nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, and
phosphorus. Although they can do
photosynthesis to obtain energy, they use these
other nutrients to complement their nutrition”.

Do you think carnivorous plants are autotrophic or heterotrophic? Explain your

answer.
