Internet services mean that part of data and Internet services are public so that
any user can use Internet services. Such as - Internet access, email facilities, web-page
facilities, etc. Internet services are those services which you use to do your daily work.
For example, sending or receiving emails, browsing the web, listening to online songs,
etc.

10 INTERNET SERVICES AND ITS USAGE


1. Electronic Email

 is and probably always will be the most common use of the Internet. It
allows Internet users to send and receive messages from around the
world.

2. Video Conference

 can be used for team meetings, webinars, product demos, job


interviews, and more. The main purpose of video conferencing is to
help people connect, regardless of where they're located.

3. Instant Messaging

 is used for real-time communication among users on the internet.


Enterprise and consumer users find it an immediate, convenient and
flexible alternative to email. IM'ing is faster than email and more direct
than other asynchronous forms of communication.

4. E-Commerce

 also known as electronic commerce or internet commerce, refers to the


buying and selling of goods or services using the internet, and the
transfer of money and data to execute these transactions

5. Web Services

 is an application that can be consumed (accessed and used) over the


Internet (or an intranet) using industry-standard protocols. Web
services are used for a variety of applications, but the most common is
for reusing code and connecting existing programs

6. File Transfer

 is a way to download, upload, and transfer files from one location to


another on the Internet and between computer systems.

7. Internet Relay Chat

 is a network of Internet servers that use a specific protocol through


which individuals can hold real-time online conversations via PCs and
other devices. Many of today's botnets utilize IRC to communicate with
bot-infected machines.

8. Newsgroup

 or discussion groups are used to exchange messages and files through


Usenet, which was established in 1980 and continues as one of the
oldest computer networks. These groups allow people to post publicly
accessible messages, which are distributed across news servers on the
Internet.

9. Electronic Fax

 allows you to send and receive faxes from virtually anywhere with an
Internet connection and a mobile device.

10. World wide web

 It connected the world in a way that made it much easier for people to
get information, share, and communicate. It has since allowed people
to share their work and thoughts through social networking sites, blogs,
video sharing, and more.
