System features
PanelView Plus 6 700-1500 Firmware Upgrade Package 12.00-20200922 contains updates for PanelView Plus 6 700-1500
terminals and includes the following new features:

• New RecipePlus audit messages

This Firmware Upgrade Package adds new audit messages to track ingredient value changes in a recipe file. It validates an
application to comply with the FDA 21CFR Part11 regulation.
• Enhanced XY Plot with the ChartEx ActiveX control
This Firmware Upgrade Package provides a ChartEx ActiveX control to show data point connection type by pen instead of
by chart.
• Updates to support device network path
This Firmware Upgrade Package supports using device network path to store location of the device in a system, which
allows users to configure and store the shortcut path using the device’s IP address and slot number in a chassis.
• Updates to support communication over the DH+ network using an EtherNet driver
This Firmware Upgrade Package provides the ability to communicate with Allen-Bradley controllers using PLC-5 or SLC-
500 messaging over the DH+ network without having a 1784-PKTX card installed. This is achieved by using the 1756
EtherNet module bridging across a ControlLogix chassis to a DH+ network connected to a 1756-DHRIO module.
• Updates to access information inside of devices that support the Open Device Vendors Association (ODVA) Common
Industrial Protocol (CIP)
This Firmware Upgrade Package adds the ability to access information inside of devices that support the ODVA CIP, using
the Class, Instance and Attribute (CIA) messaging with the CIP Object - Class/Instance/Attribute Message shortcut type.
With the updates, you can use CIP messaging to communicate with devices, such as PowerFlex drives, E300 Overload
Relays, and some third-party devices.
• FactoryTalk Linx updates
This Firmware Upgrade Package supports:
• Reading the values of controller extended tag properties directly as normal tags in an application. The supported
extended tag properties include .@Library, .@Instruction, .@Label, .@Area, .@URL, and .@Navigation.
• Reading the values of FactoryTalk Linx attributes directly as normal tags in an application. The supported FactoryTalk
Linx attributes include .@Name, .@Quality, .@Timestamp, and .@Scope.
• Using modifiers to change the way the information is accessed. The supported modifiers include: “,CTIME”, which is
used to convert a Logix LINT/ULINT to a string containing date and time, and “,SC#”, which is used to convert
numeric tag to ASCII.
