Intro:
As you know, in the context of Vietnam's international integration in today
society, more and more foreign businesses and companies have invested in our
country to expand their market. This is a good chance for those whose strength is
language ability to find good job opportunities and express themselves, especially
young people. However, there is a drawback that some researchs have shown that a
variety of Vietnamese students are good at English grammar but confused when
communicating.
So, realizing the role of English and a need of a different teaching method
which is way more effective, we’ll present to you, ENGMATE – our nationwide
English center system. Our motto is “WE WISH FOR IT, WE DO FOR IT”. This
is a brand new teaching model. Our goal is to support Vietnamese people, first and
foremost, the youth, from not only those in big cities to children in remote areas
but also children with poor economic conditions still have the opportunity to study
in a professional environment.
Within 2 years, Engmate has grown to 3 branches with 800 students since the
first day of establishment in 2021. Having received positive feedbacks from a large
number of learners as well as market surveys, today we founders are here to call
for investment from Sharks for the purpose of expanding the scale of operations as
well as introducing diverse Ennglish teaching method to all regions of the country.
Selling points:
We’re all agree when it comes to the fact that English centers and extra
classes are springing up like mushrooms nowadays (IELTS Fighter, Ames for ex),
so we established Engmate not because of trends but to aim for a different model
while still ensuring the quality of teaching. Here are some reasons why our
nationwide English center system is a good option:
- The 1st one to be mentioned is moderate tuition fee. We initially aim to
teach learners with different circumstances so the tuition would be
economical. Besides, for children in remote areas or disadvantaged juveniles,
there’s also xemption and reduction.
- Secondly, in addition to the 4 basis skills, our teaching model focus on
presentation skills as well. In fact, there are many people who can speak
fluently to their friends but are still very shy when presenting in public. This
comprehensive teaching method may encourage learners to adapt to every
communication situation.
- Finally, Engmate’s courses also involve extracurricular activities.
+ As for learners in cities, students are free to come up with their own ideas
for activities like visiting a museum, having a picnic in the park or holding
talk cafés...
+ Remote areas, lecturers would plan on outdoor activities such as at the
banks of streams and fields that ensure 2 factors: safety and suitability for
collective activities.
+ There is 1 point that we consider to be quite effective and engaging in our
teaching model: Talkafe. I’m believe that most of us are familiar with the
trend of many people these days, especially adolescensts, choose coffe shops
to work or self-study due to the quiet ambience. Our center cooperate with
reputable cafés to organize communication classes where we speak in 100%
English. Students responded that learning in a place other than the classroom
helps them get rid of their academic feeling and can communicate more
proactively, feel confident and obviously, express their creativity.
Strategy:
- Learners: Engmate's students range from elementary school to university.
- Lecturers: Currently, most of Engmate's lecturers are young people, fresh
graduates and a very small number are native teachers. For a 2-year
established center system, we know that the scale is still limited, so it may
difficult to invite senior teachers. On the other hand, fresh graduates whose
primary goal is to gain work experience instead of high salaries would be
more suitable for the financial situation of the center. That does not mean
that the quality of teaching is not appreciated. The application condition is
that candidates must have a pedagogical degree and English level B2.
- Marketing strategy: About 17% is promotional activities on study and job
forums, focus most on social networks (Fb, Tik Tok, Instagram..). Every half
year, we introduce to variuos universities, especially students who are about
to graduate with job needs. Some other ways would be referrals from our
former teachers, from which we can somewhat guarantee the quality of
applicants.
- Moreover, we also conduct periodic market assessments to survey student
satisfaction as well as recognition on social platforms.
Timeline:
- To give more illustration of Engmate’s development, please take a look at
the screen. Our nationwide English center system first established in
February, 2021 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The recruitment posting took place at the
same time as the preparation for the opening, so we quickly went into
official operation. During the 3 initial months, lecturers would be trained for
pedagogical skill and ways to behave with students at different ages, etc.
- ‘till May, 2021, there were nearly 200 students study directly at center and
then online because of the pandemic.
- In July, 2022, Engmate’ s proud to proud to receive ISO 9001 Certification
for experts in the field of public administration and training organization.
- At the beginning of this year, the number of students has increased to 600
people with 100 million profit and continues to climb to 800 learners with
400 million VND interest up to now.
- In the next 5 years, we expect the number of students to be 2000 with
cooperation with more native teachers. The estimated profit woul be 3 billion
dongs.
Funding:
We suggest 2 billion investment capital for 20% share. These expenses
including:
+ 60% would be alloted to teaching facilities and equipment.
+ 25% spent on means of transportation, ensuring teaching in mountainous,
remote and isolated areas is not interrupted.
+ The remaining 15% would be for donating school supplies to
disadvantaged children.
