RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE EXCEPTIONAL EFFORTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (DICT) REGION XII AND MAINLAND BARMM FOR CONDUCTING THE FIRST COMPUTER EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) SECURITY ESSENTIAL TRAINING ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hon. WHEREAS, The Department of Information and Communications Technology
(DICT) is the primary entity of the executive branch of the Government responsible for planning, developing, and promoting the national ICT development agenda; WHEREAS, the Cybersecurity Regional Focal Ronal Jones S. Hinay, in collaboration with the supervision of the DICT National Computer Emergency Response Team, conducted the first Regional Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Security Essentials Training last August 31, 2021; WHEREAS, this training initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of individuals currently working for a CERT and those interested in establishing a CERT in their offices and organizations, providing them with the information, skill requirements, capabilities, and resources necessary to effectively respond to cybersecurity incidents; WHEREAS, the training enabled participants to understand how CERT undertakes processes of investigations, containment, and mitigation of cyber incidents, and application of preventative measures to avoid future accidents, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of individual and organizational cybersecurity postures; WHEREAS, this remarkable training initiative saw participation from thirty-one (31) National Government Agencies and twelve (12) Local Government Units, totaling ninety (90) participants in Region XII and Mainland BARMM;
