3. Job Set-up

A. Energize the ground service network

B. Prepare for the Ground Test
(1) Read the engine fire procedure Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-894.
(2) Do the engine operating standard practices procedure Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-9
10-807.
(3) Make sure that the reverse thrust levers are in the forward thrust (down) position.
(4) Make sure that the forward thrust levers are in the idle position.
(5) On the center pedestal, on the ENG START section of panel 125VU, make sure that
the ENG MASTER control switches are in the OFF position.
(6) On the center pedestal, on the ENG START section of panel 145VU, make sure that
the ENG START selector switch is in NORM position.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER ENGINE SHU
TDOWN. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ALMOST ONE HOUR. DO NOT
TOUCH HOT PARTS WITHOUT APPLICABLE GLOVES. HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE IN
JURIES TO PERSONNEL.
4. Procedure
SUBTASK 71-00-00-740-108-A
A. Ground Test of the Applicable Left (Right) Engine for Nacelle Anti-Icing System
(1) Operate the engine to make a new MOTORING REPORT:
- Clear the MOTORING REPORT Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-700-880.
- Return to the MCDU top level menu.
- Do not enter a new flight number.
(a) Do the engine automatic start Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-875 or engine
manual start Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-876.
NOTE: This step is not necessary if you operate the engine for 5 minutes
during the engine start procedure.
(2) On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 225VU, push the ANTI ICE/ENG 1(2) pushbut
ton switch:
(a) The ON legend of the ANTI ICE/ENG 1(2) pushbutton switch comes on, ENG
-A-ICE message in green. On the Engine Warning/Display (EWD), the ENG-A
-ICE message comes into view (green).
(b) If there is a fault in the system, on the EWD, a warning message comes into
view (amber). On the ENG 1(2) pushbutton switch, the FAULT legend comes
on amber.
(3) On the ANTI ICE section of the panel 225VU, release the ANTI ICE/ENG 1(2) push
button switch.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) De-energize the ground service network
