Introduction

Social inequality describes the existence of unequal position opportunities in society. Gender

inequality and feminism are the belief that females will receive the same social, economic,

political, and other fields of workplace equality as males are getting. According to UNO rules

and regulations about gender inequality, males and females receive equal treatment,

opportunities, responsibilities, and even rights without discussing the gender of the citizens. But

still, this thing is not deniable that feminism is a human rights issue, and it is essential to develop

policies to enhance development and reduce poverty. Several policies, compaigns are

organizations are working that promote feminism and try to provide females the same rights and

opportunities that males are getting.

According to researched articles, India has made tremendous progress in the economic

development of; the country. According to statistical analysis, about 56.4`% women in India are

employed and working in different sectors and fields of business. India is ranked 104 th from 147

total countries in respect of the gender gap index.

The industrial revolution and job opportunities provide a chance for women to work outside

their home boundaries. It is observed that women have great skills and knowledge, and they are

beating males in the very sector. But recently, the percentage of women's unemployment has

dropped to some extent. This thing is due to unnecessary accidents and unfavorable events that

are happening inside the workplace.

Literature Review
According to research (Dziure, 2019), Gender inequality is one of the causes raised by social

inequality, whereas gender inequality means that females are not getting proper rights and

opportunities. The government of India has put forward many policies and rules for women's
employment and to provide them equal rights in the workplace. For this, they had implanted the

plans, and a governmental organization is working works to enhance with equality of women's

labor in the workplace. Moreover, he put forward light on plans also made to enhance women's

labor in society and provide them respect in society and in the workplace.

(Tovmasyan, 2017) claims in his article that the salary of the females and males is at of lot

difference the women are paid lower than men at the working place in India due to certain

reasons. Meanwhile, in terms of promotion of females, they are not promoted at the level males

get promotion in Indian working entities. This produces gender inequity, which is ethically

wrong and against human rights. Human rights, sustainable goals, claims, and work to give every

gender equal rights (Tovmasyan, 2017). But here, the strategies and policies of human rights fail

to provide females the rights that they deserve.

(Weimann-Sandig, 2020) In his research, gender inequality is also seen in certain workplaces in

India, where working women are ordered to make sometimes snacks or tea for the owner of the

company or when some clients are investors visiting the office in India. It is common for males

not to want to do the work like that. They think females should always do it (Weimann-Sandig,

2020). This then raises a gap in gender equality when a working woman in the workplace is said

to make the tea or coffee for the manager.

According to (Ismail, 2021), the policies of HR that are implemented in working sectors also
are against feminism as marital status, and irrelevant questions are asked by the assistant, which
becomes the cause of unsatisfied and uncomfortable for the females. In contrast to that, males
can easily answer the question, which is a possible way of getting the job. Gender inequality is
seen in India's working sectors in terms of the pay gap, promotion, decision, and choosing the
organization's leader.
According to Bucker, the recent statistical analysis predicts that only 1079 jobs vaccines are

created for females by the different working sectors and about double seats are available for

males, which clearly predicts that males are provided more chances to work than females.

In contrast, promotion and lower salary provided to females is seen in many working sectors

of India. From the survey and Global gender gap reports, the statistical ratio of promotion of

males is about 46-50 percent as compared to females, which is about 10-15 percent in India.

Females are not getting promotions like males in the workplace. The main cause of not getting a

promotion is some previous rough experiences in which females didn't work well when they got

promoted (Stamarski & Son Hing, 2015). The salary package of the males is increased by 10%

with the upgrading to the next level. But the salary package in India remains quite the same as

before. It is also believed by some managers and owners of companies that females cannot

handle the hard work in which some time for the business purpose, they have to move outside.

Females have to get permission from their families, and some families don't allow them to go

alone to any other place. Keeping in view these thoughts and problems regarding female labor,

they didn't give them promotions which is one of the possible reasons for India about gender

inequality (Hashim et al., 2021).

Research Question:

The research question is based on gender inequality in India. The report covers the following

research question.

Q= Is gender inequality exists in working place in India?

Q= Analysis of gender inequality in India?

Objective:
The report completely analyzes the social inequality in India. The report aims to identify the
issues that women are facing these days. The report covers the following objectives.

It highlights gender inequality in society.

It highlights the status of women.

It highlights the issues that women are facing in working place/

It highlights the issues regarding the status of females in society.

Methodology:

In order to compile the necessary data for the study, the researchers employed both primary and

secondary sources for information. Secondary research is conducted by thoroughly reading and

reviewing online magazine articles that are specific to the topic at hand. During the data

collection phase of this study, a variety of interviews were analyzed. Data is gathered from the

company's database to determine what motivates and directs employees to join the public sector.

They present the data in a certain format based on the percentage by which each strategy

motivates workers the most.

Data Collection:
Human Resources rule implementation to improve productivity and occupational health, and

safety data are just two examples of how a company's database may be used to collect

information about the factors that influence an employee's level of engagement in their work.

From here, records are amassed about independent variables that provide accurate statistics about

guidelines and motivation because of seminars, conferences, shallowness, and payment, the
usage of variable phrases accurately using the browser of accounting many different journals of

management.

Analysis:

It is critically analyzed from the above statement that after getting an education and learning

about human rights, and knowing the role and responsibilities of females in society, there is still

thinking that females are weak. In a developed country like India, females are not enjoying their

rights, and in fact, they are underestimated by males. Everyone in the workplace is educated;

they know about the power of females they are not treated equally to males. No doubt that

females made a tremendous revolution and enhanced the economy of the country. If we look at

the economy of India, in the previous years country has had tremendous success. The survey and

research report analysis suggests that in that period of time, the involvement of women is more

than now, which is a key factor in the loss of the economy of the country (Habrich et al., 2011).

The backward thinking by the males raises gender inequality in the workplace as women

have a great sense of making things good because they are handling many responsibilities. In the

business sectors and at the industrial level, women are not allowed to come forward and put their

opinion in India.

Despite these and governmental efforts, gender inequality still remains in society and the

workplace. This means that gender inequality roots penetrate deep into society and the mindset

of uneducated and arrogant people who even consider women lower than males (Dziure, 2019).

While working at the workplace or in different business sectors, females still face problems and

issues regarding gender inequality.

According to recent reports on the report of Global Gender Gap, women are earning half of

their income than males' salary. The domestic act against violence reports claims that in India,

discrimination still exists against women, and there is a lack of job opportunities for women, late

promotion, and a lack of leadership jobs. They are not allowed to the decision for business or the

workplace.

The role of women in society and their duty as a daughter, sisters, and mothers at home is

more than males. In society, it is the concept that women are weaker and cannot make their

decisions independently, as some citizens think that females are fragile. As women have

different roles and responsibilities, for this reason, they give less time as compared to men in the

workplace. By seeing these qualities and the role of women in their personal life, females are

given fewer job opportunities in the workplace, and there are fewer vaccines for female labor in

different private and governmental working sectors.

Besides the fewer job opportunities at the workplace, females also face a gender pay gap or

a gender salary gap, according to a recent research analysis of different Indian working sectors

(Ismail, 2021). This gender pay gap is directly linked to female promotion in the working sector.

Most of the owners and managers of the business sector are males, and they think that females

cannot perform the higher particular job perfectly. This is why they prefer males, which gives

them a difficult job, and they are getting promoted to the next level. Due to promotion, the salary

package of the male employees is increasing. This is the reason working in a sector for many

years, the salary and the scale of the females remain the same, whereas males' salaries increase

within a short time, and they get promoted. The main reason for the pay gap is some variables

are discipline, demographic characteristics, and productivity.

Despite that certain reason, the HR policies and making decisions for the particular offer or

the business is a factors in which gender inequality is seen. Women can make better decisions for

the company, which has been proven many times. But by neglecting the women and their

workers, the workplace managers didn't allow the women to make any decision in the ongoing or

coming project. In many industries, businesses, and educational institutes, women are seen as

effective leaders rather than males, as is seen in various Indian workplaces. Leadership and

making a decision require good communication skills that women have. But some institute

owner thinks that females have weak communication skills, which will affect their business in

the future, so they prefer males for making decisions and to make leadership.

The Indian analysis reports suggest that females are lastly taken as a leader in the various

sectors by the experts, which is the reason the statistical data shows that female labor in terms of

management and leading a team is less than males. Mostly in all teams works, the males are

hired as a leader of the organization.

The female workers in India are also ordered to do unusual work, which includes any kitchen

area or making any dish for the owner, which impresses the visitors, and only this order is given

to females, not to the males, because they consider this kind of work is doable only for the

females. When females are ordered to do that kind of work for a particular purpose, it is

eventually created a gap between the male and females in the working area in India.

As it is also noted that several organizations and, NGOs, and foundations are working to

provide equal rights to females, also at the governmental level where the government of India

has made several policies plans and run different companies to promote the power and capability

of female at a national and international level as well. Despite from that a large amount of
education is spread among the nation (Jalal et al., 2019). But these plans and strategies have no

effect on the citizens. Every year the ratio and percentage of the gender gap are increasing in

India, and this gender inequality adversely affects the economy of the country. The economy will

be shaken badly, but also it creates a negative influence on society, and it emotionally and

financially weeks the female.

Conclusion:
Feminism and gender gaps are a curse in both developed and underdeveloped countries. The

gender gap didn't increase or enhance the strength of the country, and it did not make the country

economically and financially strong. The gap between males and females will lead to a system in

which female moral ethics is shaken badly. The gender gap is seen during the educational

process of females. When parents allow their sons to get more and more higher education from

well-established universities, schools, and Colleges, but they don't allow their daughters to go

outside and get an education, this is the starting point of the gender gap. That concept against

females is not allowed to get higher education, and in the future, if they want to support their

families by working in a sector, they are also considered as lower than females.

In previous years this concept has been very common in our society, but with education and

spreading awareness, females are allowed to get more education by their families, and in this

way, a large number of jobs are opened for females and from 2010- 2017 the female labor has

made a tremendous revolution in the economy of the country (AHMAD, 1998). That Malaysia

has gained success more than in the previous ten years.

The shortage of education in females is also a problem when they come to the working field.

A lower education status always leads to low scale in the job and lower job status for females.
When there are low job statuses females get at the working place, the promotion of females is

low.

Of course, the work of women and responsibilities are more than males, but this thing is not a

focal point to underestimate them that they cannot perform their duties and responsibilities well.

In many fields, women are making significant changes while making the services of the system

better and broader. If the owners of the organization think about that and open the facilities of

jobs in their sector, for sure, the economy and the financial organization value will increase as in

previous years.

The concept of gender inequality raises the moral difference in society and creates inequality

for women. The workplace is known as a holy place because it's a place from where we can earn

for our families. The females who are single mothers usually have to work for their families and

children or daughter who is the eldest one due to some family issues and problems they had to

work as they have no other option. But when at the workplace, they face gender inequality, the

confidence of the females is shaken badly. Working at a place for many years, they are getting

minor same amount effects badly, and they go into mental trauma. The promotion and increase

in the prices of wages will increase the confidence of the female, and they will work properly

and more efficiently.

Females are known for having the capability to communicate and lead a team. When they

communicate with a person or party in the case of business and marketing, they easily motivate

them due to the power of communication, which is a leadership quality of the female (Yoong,

2020). Gender equality promotes equal rights and responsibilities that should be given to every

gender without seeking males or females and another third gender in the workplace. When there
is inequality in society and at the workplace, the institute is going to be not a holy place for

females.

Many campaigns and plans were created by the government in 2016 which promote the

involvement of females in the workplace. Several organizations are also working in this regard

which works to provide females with possible rights.

From the above discussion and findings, it is concluded that gender inequality is promoted by the

old idea and overthinking about the female's responsibilities. The gender inequality in India

during the last year is more than before, and it seems in terms of low wages than males and not

getting promoted. This gender inequality mostly seems to be in the private sectors of the working

area. Due to this inequality, the country is suffering in terms of the economy, which is a negative

point. Females have more skills than males, but they are not allowed to become the leader of the

team, and to lead the team, having a low education degree also creates the difference in gender.

The reports on the gender gap also predict that females are not getting fewer opportunities for

jobs, lower salaries, minor upgrading, and less fairness in terms of productive work at the

workplace. The whole study claims that if particular rights are not given to females in the

country, it will be the primary cause of India.
