A prestigious manufacturer in Europe plans to expand its network of dealership in the Philippines and has
chosen CLARK to be the showcase of its product in the north. The site being contemplated is an area along
main avenue of a proposed Future City Center. This dealership will offer a complete line of luxury cars. It will
operate along 3 main functions: marketing and sales, customer relations and services, parts and accessories.
The company wants to project an image of prestige, efficiency and friendliness. Therefore, it is putting a
premium on client comfort, trust and satisfaction especially in its after sales activities and services.
General Areas:
a. Front Lobby – Reception area leading to or integrated with the showroom. This must
project a friendly ambiance, the first contact point for customer relations. Should
include comfortable waiting spaces preferably with round table discussion seating
arrangement as well as coffee table settings.
b. Reception area for car maintenance and servicing – this will also serve as waiting
area and must operate as a cozy comfortable lounge where soft music, video
viewing, reading or plain conversation will be possible. Coffee and snacks should be
available here. The client waiting for their cars to be serviced should be able to see
the progress of the work being done to their cars without interfering with the service
men.
c. Small kitchen and pantry – to serve the lobby an all reception areas. (whether
compliments of the house or ordered paid for by the clients.)
d. Showroom for Display of cars – at least 9 models shall be shown at any time but
extra should be considered. This is left to the discretion of the designer. Cars for
display will come from the service area.
e. Customer Relations Area – Manned by receptionist and sales group, preferably
adjacent or within main lobby where close client contacts and inquiries can be
handled. (assume staff of 6)
f. Parts and accessories area – Primarily a display and sales area within the showroom
but accessible to parts storage and car servicing area. This is manned by two sales
clerks.
g. Sales Offices – Space for sales transactions. Semi private but accessible from
costumer relations area. Direct access by clients is preferred. A sales force of 10 is
planned.
h. Small Staff Meeting Room – preferably near sales office and accessible to Managers.
i. Clerical Area – incorporated with sales area but should not interfere with sales
transactions. This area is for the paperwork required for sales and records. Six (6)
clerks will hold office here.
j. Three (3) Man Accounting Area, near clerical area

s. Storage, Warehouse for parts and accessories, manned by one supervisors and one
clerk.
t. Service and Maintenance supervisors office – preferably within the service area, with
staff of three (3)
u. Service area – Designed with service bays for mechanical, electrical and body work
and grooming. Car lifts should be considered. A separate car wash and lubrication
area should be allocated, as this is a very dirty job.
Flow or traffic of incoming and outgoing cars should be properly studied. A holding
area for incoming cars should be provided where control numbers are assigned each
car and work required and described in job order. This is done in the presence of the
owner, by the supervisor or his assistant. A holding area for finished cars should also
be provided where jobs done are checked and where the owners or the service staff
can pick up the cars. This will also serve as the area where new cars waiting to be
delivered to buyers can be checked and prepared before delivery or pick-up
Payments for parts and services will be done to the assistant cashier.
v. Utility and Service Staff Room – Room for mechanics and other service personnel
where they change to working uniform, wash and shower, rest during rest periods
and store their valuables in lockers. About 12 personnel.
w. Tools and Equipment Storage – Aside from tool racks and cabinet within the service
area, a separate storage for tools and equipment’s is required to keep those that are
to be issued on request only. Extras and service parts are to be kept also in the
room. Manned by an equipment clerk.
x. Waste Control and Management/ Utility Area – Where plant, junk, waste and trash
are manage and disposed of away from public view.
y. Required Public and Private (Staff) toilets
z. Small Social Hall for Staff
aa. Small Sales Training room for staff – to double as service training area.
bb. Small printing (computer desktop publishing) and Art room
cc. Parking space for staff, clients and visitors
dd. Security post as required – must not be obtrusive so as to preserve the client-
friendly atmosphere and image of the company
