included to demonstrate the activities
used to build and strengthen decoding
and reading skills in your students.
Print these pages for your student or
small group. They will need pointers as
they practice reading the sounds. The
practice will help them gain automaticity
and fluency. If you wish, you can place
the pages that will be written on in
plastic sleeves so they can be used
again.

Touch and read the sentences using a pointer. Use
the punctuation to show meaning.

Read the story 3 times. Answer the questions in complete
sentences.
Red Crabs
Fran has a crab for a pet. She likes to
have red crabs. Crabs will snap at you.
Fran just grins when they do that! She
