MAT 311 Exam 1

This document contains instructions and 5 exercises for a linear algebra exam. Students are instructed not to bring unauthorized materials to the exam and to write only in blue or black pen. Exercise 1 asks students to write a system of linear equations in matrix form, find the inverse matrix, and deduce the solution. Exercise 2 gives an augmented matrix and asks students to find the conditions for consistency and solve the system. Exercise 3 provides two matrices and asks students to find inverse matrices and determine another matrix. Exercise 4 asks students to show that a particular matrix expression is symmetric. Exercise 5 analyzes the solutions to a linear system based on the value of one of its terms.

2) Find the inverse matrix of A
3) Deduce the solution of (S).
