Preface

This document provides an overview of a project to develop an integrated mouse trap using various sensor technologies. Chapter 1 will introduce the project, its importance, advantages, and limitations. Chapter 2 will describe the components, block diagrams, and layout. Chapter 3 will show the project setup, test procedures, and operating instructions. The goal is to create a more advanced and humane way to trap mice in homes using sensors and other technologies as an alternative to traditional cage traps.

PREFACE

The ideas in this project are primarily designed to equip the students with an
adequate knowledge necessary to the understanding and appreciation not only of the
subject Current Trends in Information Technology but of course to the reality that
industry today through ever increasing competition forced to consider a far reaching
programme of rationalization and automation.

The design project aims to introduce a lot of modern technologies that are
exist nowadays and continue to develop into a more high-tech appeal. This project is
design to give an overview of the very famous Sensor Technology to everyone’s
ignorance.

The topics presented in this documentation will provide a brief elaboration of

the information needed. Each chapter is a support proceeding, thus, to offer a clear
way of what this paper is trying to bear out:

Chapter 1 merely renders the project introduction, its description, its

importance or significance of the project considering as its advantages and also the
project’s limitations as its disadvantages. Also included are the definitions of
technical terms used on to the entire development.

Chapter 2 features the different components that were used and its
specifications. The general operation of the project is visibly created through the
block diagrams and its analysis showing the thorough pace on how the signal flows
into the entire system. On this chapter also contains the actual layout of the
components and structure of the project.

And Chapter 3 provides the most interesting part in which it reveals the
picture of the project set up. Moreover, test procedures were also included that will
serve as trouble shooting guide to the users. The operation guide includes the
fundamental instructions for use in the upcoming manifestations.
Introduction

Today’s technology is rapidly developing and accelerating when in comes to

innovations. Man’s work is getting easier and easier as so many technologies are
invented. Ranging from cooking gadgets, cell phones, cars, industrial machine and
so much more are reinvented and enhanced by engineers.

As a result of the continuing development of new technological trends, many

had already realized the potential benefits of sensor technology for the indigenous
industry. It is now applicable in a very broad domain including the environment,
medicine, commerce, and robotics in order to improve quality and efficiency on the
level of control over different process.

Derived from the Latin word “sensus” which means “feeling” or “sensation”, a
sensor is a physical device that detects, or senses, a signal or physical condition
and even chemical compounds. It corresponds to an electrical or optical signal. They
can be classified according to the type of energy transfer that they detect. Such
classifications are proximity sensor and optical sensor. This project will confine its
coverage sensors compatible with electronic measuring devices.

Sensors are devices that convert a physical parameter such as room

temperature, blood pressure or wind speed into a signal that can be measured
electrically. Once the physical parameter has been converted to an electrical
equivalent it is easily input into a signal or pneumatics, analyzing and displaying.

Sensors are now applied in different field and aspects. This project focuses
on applying sensors and other technologies that comes with it such as a pushbutton
for the manual override if the sensor are failed to function and to cope up a solution
on the problems regarding our safety.

As we all know, there are lots of security devices which aimed to protect not
only ourselves but also our property. Devices such as surveillance cameras, alarms,
lock system, cage traps, etc. But together with modernization of our technology in
terms of security devices and also in cage traps in sneaking in our property such as
entering our house without our awareness and sneaking to our kitchen.

In law, trespass can be the criminal act of entering or going into the real
property of another wrongfully or without the owner’s or possessor’s authority or
consent. But in mouse it cannot be applied the law.

That’s why the proponents arrived in a one-of-a-kind idea to come up with

another solution regarding the problem of trespassers mouse named Integrated
Mouse Trap. this will be the newest and ideal to use specifically in our homes. This
somewhat acts like a cat in our house.
