The document outlines the typical structure and components of a research paper or thesis proposal, including:
- The title, which should be brief, researchable, novel, and indicate possibilities for further research.
- Chapter 1 addresses the problem, rationale, background, hypothesis, theoretical framework, significance, scope and limitations, and definition of terms.
- Chapter 2 covers the related literature review, studies, and legal bases as well as justification of the proposed study.
- Chapter 3 describes the methodology, including the research method, equipment, procedures, product evaluation, and statistical treatment.

“Parts of a Research Paper”
-A research defense preparation-
TITLE: The title of a thesis proposal must be brief and concise,
researchable, novel, and indicates possibilities for further research, and time for completing study is possible.
CHAPTER I
THE PROBLEM: RATIONALE AND ITS BACKGROUND: Placed at the middle
heading title of chapter I in all capital.
This includes:
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: This states the main problem or
conflict. It uses questions that should be answered in the conduct of the research study. HYPOTHESIS: Null Hypothesis is commonly used by researchers because it is a denial existence of the difference of the effect which is easy to reject and accept. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK: Provides clear explanations regarding the relationship among variables. It shapes the justification of the research problem that uses abstract concepts, factors or laws, and variables and their relations as well. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY: This explains why the study is significant in relation to solving a problem, bridging a knowledge gap, improving socio-economic, and health conditions of the people, government’s thrust, alleviation of poverty, providing of security, and contributing to the economy and austerity measures of the country. SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS: Includes the coverage of the study area, the subjects, the research instruments, the issues and concerns, the duration, and the constraints that have direct bearing on the results of the study. DEFINITION OF TERMS: States the definition of the unfamiliar words mentioned in the study in two ways: The conceptual and operational.
CHAPTER II
RELATED LITERATURE REVIEW: This is where the proponent will study
the related literature, study, and legal bases to define the similarities and differences of the proposed study to these three.
JUSTIFICATION OF THE PROPOSED STUDY: This is where he will
justify the direct bearing or difference of the related legal bases, literature, and studies on the proposed study.
CHAPTER III
METHODOLOGY: States the research methods used, materials,
equipment and utensils, procedure, evaluation of the products, and statistical statement.
RESEARCH METHOD: The researcher must choose which among: Single-
group design, two-group design, two-pair group design, three-pair group design, parallel group design, counterbalanced or Latin square design, complete randomized design, randomized complete block design, and correlational design; on which is the most appropriate to use for his proposed study.
EQUIPMENT AND UTENSILS: The researcher will enumerate the
equipment and utensils to be used in the proposed study.
PROCEDURE: Must comprehensively explain the process in preparing
the products.
EVALUATION OF THE PRODUCTS: The panelists will evaluate the
product depending on its quality and attributes.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT: The most appropriate statistical tools
will be used by the researcher to answer the specific questions in the subsection which is the Statement of the Problem.
