Case Study Title: The Tennis Match

Problem

Noel accidentally twisted his ankle during their company athletic program and it became
worst. He had to be confined for 2 days and he missed two days of his work and has no
more sick or vacation leave. Unfortunately, the company and ECC policy did not cover
the accident fee due to non related accident policy.

Case Facts

On a smash, Noel twisted his ankle badly. Noel's injury became worse and he had to be
confined in the hospital for 2 days as the X-ray results showed hairline fractures. ●Noel
missed two days of his work activities.
He has no more sick leave or vacation leave because company policy and ECC policy
do not cover non- related work accidents.
Workers' compensation provides payment if the worker is "functioning within the scope
of employment".
Analysis or Analysis
Although Noel's situation isn't the scope of his job duties and responsibilities, still, this
has something to do with the company because it's the company's athletic program.
Meaning, they supported it.
Jonabel Corporation will decide to give empathy towards Noel as a way of showing a
deep respect to their employees. Both parties are liable to the extent of this particular
matter.
Alternative Course of Action:
To resolve this problem, all members of the company should discuss what to do. This
instance is expected to happen from the start and the management themselves are
well-aware of this since they are all tennis enthusiasts.
In terms of Noel's medical evidence, he may be required to have a special treatment
from the company such as giving an equipment in order for him to perform his job
despite the injury.
Recommendation and Conclusion
The company must not suddenly dismissed their employees' employment while on a
short-term or long-term sick leave.Both sides are encouraged to review their
responsibilities towards each other regarding health and safety measures inside or
outside the workplace. It includes reviewing theemployment contract.Worse scenarios
might happen if the company itself continued not to give consideration to Noel like injury
leading to a disability during his working hours. Bringing a claim for unfair dismissal may
prevent. Because of this, a bigger possibility of arising issues against the company will
become avoidable.The company knows what happened to their employee for thier
activities i think they to understand what reason why he not work for two days Also Noel
pass her medical results to have a legal to prove that accident will happen that days.
