3- Analysis and models
The following outlines the details of analysis and design
software used for the project.

ETABS 15.1.0
- ETABS was utilized for the stability analysis of the building
and design of vertical structural elements
- The building will analyzed in three dimensional (3D) as a
model in ETABS.

|Page۷
SAFE (Version 12.3.2)
- The most popular software of design and analysis the different
types for slab systems.
- Design and analysis footing system.
- Full gross sections of the element will be used together with
the short term elastic modulus.

CSI Column
-Design column and check steel reinforcement of columns.

4-Structural system
a) Basement:
consists of raft with thickness 1500 mm , well isolated.

b) Ground floor:
consists of solid slab with thickness 140 mm at level +1.20 m.

c) First floor:
Consists of flat slab with thickness 200 mm at level +4.20 m

d) End Roof floor:

Consists of hollow block slab at level +43.20 m.

5-Design Building codes

- ECP 203-2007 for concrete design.
- ECP 201-2012 for load.
6-Structural Materials
The used material:
A) Concrete: consist of - Portland cement
- Fine aggregate
- Coarse aggregate
- Water

|Page۸
25% cement paste, 75% aggregate & Fcu = 30 MPa

B) Steel:
Fy = (360/520) MPa high tensile steel for main bars and
secondary bars.
Fy= (240/360) MPa mild steel for stirrups.
c) Finishing materials:
- Sand  ɣsand = 18 KN/m3
- Bricks  ɣBricks = 15 KN/m3

11- Deflection
Allowable immediate deflection Elements
L / 360 -One and two way slabs
-Beams
Reinforced concrete sections will be designed to ensure flexural
design crack widths designed according to ECP 203-2007 at the
serviceability limit state. as described earlier, and the following
deflection limits shall not be exceeded.

Allowable short deflection Elements

L / 250 -One and two way slabs
-Beams
L / 450 - Cantilever
Allowable long term deflection Elements
L / 480 -One and two way slabs

12-Foundation Movement
Foundations are to be designed to limit any potential settlement
as follows:
- Settlement of any part of the structure at working loads will be
limited to 100 mm.
- Differential settlement between adjacent vertical structures at
working load will be limited to the lesser of span/500 or 10 mm.
