Lesson 1: Taking Good Care of Ourselves and Our Computers

Self-Care While using Our Computers


We have to take care our selves while using our computers to prevent any health problem.
We have to observe the proper ways in using our computers. By doi8ng so, working on our
computers will be an enjoyable.

Here are some of the ways to take good care of ourselves while using our computers.
1. Sit properly.
This will prevent us from having neck, shoulder, and back pains. Let us follow these:
a. Our chairs fit us.
b. Our back are against the backrest of our chairs.
c. Our knees should make a right angle
d. Our feet are flat on the floor. ( We can use a footstool if our feet do not touch the floor)
e. Our legs are not crossed.
2. Place the monitor at an appropriate distance.
This will prevent from bending our necks and backs.
a. It must be directly in front of us.
b. It must be slightly below our eye level.
3. Bring the chair up close to the keyboard.
This will help us rest our arms on the desk. Here is to do it.
a. Our elbow are in the same height as the keyboard.
b. Our shoulder should be relaxed while using the keyboard.
c. Our wrist must be relaxed when typing.
4. Put the mouse near the keyboard.
This well keep our arms from stretching away from our bodies.
5. Take short breaks while using our computers.
a. Rest our eyes. This will prevent us from headache, unclear vision, and itching ore
redness of our eyes.
b. Rest, bend back a few times, stretch, and move around every 30 minutes to let our
bodies relax.
Proper Care of Our Computers
Are we taking good care of our toys? How do we take care of them?
We should also take care of our computers the way we take care of our personal things such as
toys. This will make us work efficiently and our computers work properly.
Here are some ways to care for our computers properly.
1. Make sure our hands are clean and dry before using our computers.
2. Keep foods and drinks away for our computers.
3. Press the key softly.
4. Do not touch the screen. Protect the display monitor.
5. Do not place heavy things on top of any parts of our computers.
6. plug in accessory devices into their proper slots with assistance of an adult. Only adults
may touch the electrical of our computers.
7. Place our computers in a clean, cool, and dry place.
8. Keep our computers away from direct heat or sunlight or in a place where they might get
wet.
9. Clean our computers regularly with a soft and dry cloth.
10. Cover our computers when not in use to keep them free from dust or dirt.

Lesson 2. Following Computer Laboratory Rules


Computer Laboratory Rules
When using the computer laboratory, we should follow these rules.
1. Line up the quietly by the door. We should not push each other, scream, or run when
getting in line.
2. Come in quietly. We should sit in our assigned desks and computer seats. Wait for
instructions before we touch our computers.
3. Listen while our teacher gives instruction. We should work quietly and respects others.
4. raise our hands if we need help from our teachers if we have questions.
5. Do not eat food, drink, chew gum inside the computer laboratory or around our
computers.
6. Only open programs we are instructed to use. We should not play games or open
websites unless instructed by our teachers.
7. Be gentle with our computers. We should not touch the screen or pound the keyboards.
We should also use the mouse gently.
8. Always remember to save our works. We should keep our files organized.
9. Do not turn off the computers until our teacher instructs us to do so.
10. Leave our area the exact way we found it. We should push back our chairs and pick up
of the litters that we can see before leaving the computer laboratory.
