Bits and Pieces of Info to Make Life on the Ranch Easier to Manage

September 30, 2011

Answers to Questions on the Ranch

Whats Happening Around Town Can you believe we have arrived at the first week of October? It seems like Gods handiwork becomes even more enjoyable this time of year, and I trust you and your family will be able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! As you are out and about, please consider picking up an item or two to donate to our Fun-sized class basket for the upcoming ACA auction. You can find a list of the items we already have under the Circle the Wagons section of the newspaper. We would be so grateful if each family could donate something for the basket! The change in seasons brings about changes in weather, but seasons of change and growth occur in our lives as well! Your child is now beginning to learn blends comprised of the vowels and consonants we have already studied this year (a,e,i,o,u,t,n, and b). The students are enjoying adding final consonants to the blends to make and read words (tu-, tug)! HOORAY! So, you may try some I Spy games by looking for letters and words in a newspaper or even just in the community around you! The students are also making tremendous progress in math as we learn more about number families (ones, tens, and twenties) and as we practice using our left and right hands to do a variety different tasks! We are practicing writing our numbers too! The students are doing well! I look forward to beginning the first week of October with the students! We continue to work on wearing self-control and showing respect by listening when our parents, teacher, or classmates are speaking, and I look forward to the progress the students will continue to make with Gods help in the coming weeks! Enjoy your weekend!

A: Picture day will be held this coming Thursday, October 6th. Information on portrait packages was sent home. Please detach and return the payment envelope with the letter of the package circled you are purchasing for your child. You may return your order envelope anytime on or before Thursday! I cant wait to see your child all spiffed up for pictures on Thursday!

A: Students are asked to read ten minutes, five times each week with a parent. When you and your child read together, color in the date on the calendar, and if you meet the minimum requirement of five times each week for the entire month, return your calendar for a gift certificate to Pizza Hut. Special certificates will be awarded at the end of the year for those who meet the requirements each month! Happy reading!

A: As of Thursday, we have received donations of a basket, Pip-squeak markers, mini measuring cups, close pins, and Post It! notes. Please consider what you could donate!

A: I send home a colored letter verse card most weeks with the weekly newsletter. At the end of that week, I will listen to your child recite his or her verse for a grade. Occasionally I forget, but I do try to practice with them each day and test on Friday!

The stone was rolled away from the tomb, and Mary Magdalene, Mary, Salome, Peter, and John all came to the grave only to find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. Then, Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene, his disciples, and over 500 other people. He ate, drank, and allowed others to touch the wounds in His hands to prove He is indeed the Risen Lord!
