Lesson 1 EMPOWERMENT
Lesson 1 EMPOWERMENT
In this lesson, I learned the basic principles of graphics and layout, as well as the
pattern, repetition, and end rhythm; the balance, which is the visual weight of objects,
texture, colors, and space evenly distributed on the screen; and the emphasis, which is
the area in the design that may appear in different sizes, textures, shapes, or colors to
attract viewers attention. I also learn about infographics and how to create them using
Piktochart, the principles and basic techniques of image manipulation, and lastly, how to
share photos with Photo bucket.
Imaging and graphics play a pivotal role in the online environment, revolutionizing the
way we communicate, engage, and consume information. The visual elements
presented in online platforms have the power to captivate and resonate with audiences
on a profound level. Whether it's through stunning photographs, intricate illustrations, or
immersive videos, imaging and graphics have the ability to convey complex ideas,
evoke emotions, and create memorable experiences.
Lesson 7: Online system functions and Platforms
What I have learned in this lesson are the benefits of online social platforms; it
also taught me more about the disadvantages of social media and other platforms such
as web search engines. Furthermore, I also learned about the top 10 search engines in
2021. Moreover, I also encountered different kinds of platforms, including the
advertising platform, creative content outlets, and many more. Reflecting on online
system functions and platforms, it is remarkable to observe the tremendous impact they
have had on various aspects of our lives.
My analysis of this lesson is that I know how to manipulate Microsoft Word, how
to create websites using Microsoft Word, and the tips for sample web pages. I also
learned about JIMDO, which is new to my mind, and I felt interested in how it works and
also the WYSIWYG. Lastly, the editing elements and adding content to your website
which is one of the basic things in this lesson. Creating basic web pages involves
several key steps. First, you need to define the structure and layout of your page using
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), which serves as the backbone of the web. You
can use tags to mark up headings, paragraphs, images, and links.
Next, you can enhance the visual appeal and styling of your page using CSS
(Cascading Style Sheets), which allows you to specify colors, fonts, and layouts. CSS
works hand in hand with HTML, enabling you to create a cohesive and aesthetically
pleasing design. Finally, you can add interactivity and dynamic elements to your web
page using JavaScript, a programming language that enables you to manipulate the
behavior of various elements on the page, respond to user input, and fetch and display
data from external sources. By combining these three core technologies—HTML, CSS,
and JavaScript—you can create engaging and functional web pages that cater to the
needs and preferences of your target audience.
Lesson 9: Collaboration ICT Development
This innovative medium has transformed the way we consume and interact with
information, offering a multi-sensory and interactive approach to communication.
Through interactive multimedia, users can actively engage with the content, making
choices, exploring different pathways, and receiving real-time feedback, thus enhancing
their learning or entertainment experience.
Lesson 11: ICT as a platform of Change
Engaging in an ICT project for social change has been an eye-opening and fulfilling
experience. The power of technology in addressing societal issues is undeniable, and
this project has truly exemplified its potential. Through the use of information and
communication technology, we were able to reach a wider audience, create awareness
about the social issue at hand, and mobilize individuals to take action. The project
required collaborative efforts, innovative thinking, and technical skills, but the impact it
has had on the community is invaluable .One of the key aspects of this ICT project was
its ability to break down barriers and connect people from different parts of the world.
Monitoring site statistics across different platforms is an essential practice for any
website owner or digital marketer. It provides valuable insights into the performance and
engagement of the site, helping to inform strategic decisions and optimize user
experience. As I delved into this task, I realized the importance of utilizing various
analytics tools and platforms to gather a comprehensive picture of the site's
performance. Firstly, monitoring site statistics across different platforms allows for a
holistic understanding of the website's reach and impact. By utilizing tools like Google
Analytics, social media insights, and search engine rankings, one can gather data on
key metrics such as traffic sources, user demographics, and popular content. This multi-
platform approach enables the identification of patterns and trends that might not be
apparent by focusing on a single platform alone. For instance, while Google Analytics
provides detailed information about website traffic and conversions, social media
insights can shed light on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and user
engagement on specific platforms. By amalgamating these data points, a clearer
understanding of the site's overall performance emerges
In conclusion, despite the numerous benefits it offers, ICT has its disadvantages.
Privacy and security concerns pose a significant risk in an increasingly digital world,
requiring constant vigilance and robust cyber security measures. Furthermore, the
digital divide highlights the need for efforts to bridge the gap and ensure equitable
access to technology and digital literacy. While ICT has transformed our lives in many
positive ways, it is crucial to address these disadvantages and mitigate their impact to
create a more inclusive and secure digital environment.
