JUNIL ALMAREZ GRADE 12 TESLA (REFLECTION)

Lesson 1: The current state of ICT

My analysis of this lesson is that we all know that ICT is expanding, and through
this lesson I encountered the current state of ICT, and it amazed me how many users
there are in WEB 1.0, WEB 2.0, and WEB 3.0. I have learned that WEB 1.0 is the first
stage of the World Wide Web (www), and this stage is the beginning, and there are only
a few users or web content creators. This taught me that WEB 1.0 was static, and it is
called the read-only web. Moreover, the WEB 2.0 taught me that this webpage is more
interactive than the WEB 1.0 because this webpage has a little more advantages than
the WEB 1.0.
As a result, it was first used in 2004, and unlike the WEB 1.0, this WEB became more
available for everyone, and the users could interact, contribute, and create their own
internet space and content. Furthermore, the WEB 3.0 taught me that this is more
accessible among the webpages, and it was described by Tim Berners-Lee, who is the
father of the WWW, as the read-write-execute web," and it is referred to as the semantic
web or data-driven web content," and this webpage is a lot more accessible than other
WebPages.

Lesson 2: Online safety and Security

This lesson taught me the Internet + Etiquette = Netiquette thing, which is the
correct manner and conduct of using the internet. It taught me that the internet is the
information superhighway, and it also taught me how to be safe online. I learned more
about tips to stay safe online. Furthermore, this lesson also taught me the types of
viruses and internet threats, including the common types of viruses, such as the
ILOVEYOU virus that infected tens of millions of computers globally, resulting in billions
of dollars in damage.
I also encountered the types of Trojan viruses and spyware that run in the background
without you knowing it. Adware is designed to send you advertisements, mostly pop-
ups. Also, spam or unwanted emails, the phishing that acquired sensitive information
like passwords and credentials—all this information I learned in lesson 2.
Lesson 3: Mail Merge and Label Generation
What I have learned in this lesson is that mail merge is a feature within most data
processing applications that enables users to send a similar letter or document to
multiple recipients. Also, the two components of mail merge: the form document and the
list, or data file. I also learned the steps in creating a simple mail merger, and it amazes
me how it works, how easy it is to use, and how it is more accessible and basic.
Furthermore, I also encountered the Integrating Images, which are the JPG, which is
pronounced "jay-peg," the GIF, the PNG, and many more. I also learned about the
different types of layout options, and through this lesson, I already know how to use
those different layouts. That makes me confused, and I’m happy because I learned a lot
about this lesson.

Lesson 4: Microsoft Excel for Beginner

In this lesson, I learned how to manipulate Excel. I also learned what
spreadsheets are and what they can do. I just found out that spreadsheets can do
mathematical calculations, forecasting and budgeting, tracking of investments, grading
systems, creating tabular data, and lastly, reports with charts and tables. To be honest,
before we tackle this lesson, I’m already familiar with what Excel is because we already
know how to manipulate it because we use it in our research subject. But I’m grateful
that we tackle this because it gives us more information about Microsoft Excel, and we
encountered parts that we weren’t familiar with.
Microsoft Excel is an incredibly powerful tool that I recently began exploring as a
beginner. Initially, I was overwhelmed by its vast array of features and functions, but as I
delved deeper into its capabilities, I started to appreciate its immense value. Excel
provides a structured and organized way to manipulate data, perform calculations, and
present information effectively. As a beginner, I found the ability to create spreadsheets,
input data, and format cells to be particularly useful. The formulas and functions offered
in Excel allowed me to automate calculations, saving me time and effort. Moreover, the
ability to create charts and graphs helped me visualize data in a meaningful and
impactful way. Excel's user-friendly interface and extensive online resources also made
it easier for me to learn and explore more advanced features as I progressed.
Lesson 5: Advance Presentation Skills
What I have learned in this lesson is that it taught me six basic but effective tips
for creating an effective presentation. It taught me to use bullet forms or short sentences
to make it simple but unique, limit the content to six lines and seven words per line,
known as the "6 by 7 rule, and also taught me how to improve the visuals, including
clarity, minimization, consistency, and contrast. I also learned how to insert hyperlinks. I
have learned the importance of structuring my presentations in a logical and coherent
manner, ensuring that my main points are clear and well-supported. Additionally, I have
gained confidence in my delivery through practicing techniques such as body language,
vocal variety, and eye contact. These skills have enabled me to connect with my
audience on a deeper level, making my presentations more impactful and memorable.
Furthermore, the course emphasized the significance of visual aids and their role in
enhancing the overall presentation experience. I have learned how to create visually
appealing slides that complement my message rather than distract from it.
Understanding the power of visual storytelling, I now incorporate relevant images,
graphs, and charts to convey complex information in a visually appealing and easily
understandable way. Additionally, I have developed a greater awareness of the
importance of adaptability and flexibility during presentations. Through simulated real-
life scenarios, I have learned to think on my feet, respond to unexpected questions or
challenges, and maintain composure under pressure. Overall, the Advanced
Presentation Skills course has equipped me with a diverse range of tools and strategies
that have elevated my ability to deliver persuasive, engaging, and memorable
presentations.

Lesson 6: Imaging and Graphics on online Environment

In this lesson, I learned the basic principles of graphics and layout, as well as the
pattern, repetition, and end rhythm; the balance, which is the visual weight of objects,
texture, colors, and space evenly distributed on the screen; and the emphasis, which is
the area in the design that may appear in different sizes, textures, shapes, or colors to
attract viewers attention. I also learn about infographics and how to create them using
Piktochart, the principles and basic techniques of image manipulation, and lastly, how to
share photos with Photo bucket.

Imaging and graphics play a pivotal role in the online environment, revolutionizing the
way we communicate, engage, and consume information. The visual elements
presented in online platforms have the power to captivate and resonate with audiences
on a profound level. Whether it's through stunning photographs, intricate illustrations, or
immersive videos, imaging and graphics have the ability to convey complex ideas,
evoke emotions, and create memorable experiences.

also taught me more about the disadvantages of social media and other platforms such
as web search engines. Furthermore, I also learned about the top 10 search engines in
2021. Moreover, I also encountered different kinds of platforms, including the
advertising platform, creative content outlets, and many more. Reflecting on online
system functions and platforms, it is remarkable to observe the tremendous impact they
have had on various aspects of our lives.

These digital systems have revolutionized the way we communicate,

collaborate, and access information. With the rise of platforms such as social media, e-
commerce websites, and cloud-based productivity tools, our interactions have
transcended physical boundaries, enabling us to connect with individuals and
businesses worldwide. Online system functions have streamlined processes, simplified
tasks, and enhanced efficiency in numerous industries, spanning from education and
healthcare to entertainment and finance.

Lesson 8: The basic web pages Creation

My analysis of this lesson is that I know how to manipulate Microsoft Word, how
to create websites using Microsoft Word, and the tips for sample web pages. I also
learned about JIMDO, which is new to my mind, and I felt interested in how it works and
also the WYSIWYG. Lastly, the editing elements and adding content to your website
which is one of the basic things in this lesson. Creating basic web pages involves
several key steps. First, you need to define the structure and layout of your page using
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), which serves as the backbone of the web. You
can use tags to mark up headings, paragraphs, images, and links.

Next, you can enhance the visual appeal and styling of your page using CSS
(Cascading Style Sheets), which allows you to specify colors, fonts, and layouts. CSS
works hand in hand with HTML, enabling you to create a cohesive and aesthetically
pleasing design. Finally, you can add interactivity and dynamic elements to your web
page using JavaScript, a programming language that enables you to manipulate the
behavior of various elements on the page, respond to user input, and fetch and display
data from external sources. By combining these three core technologies—HTML, CSS,
and JavaScript—you can create engaging and functional web pages that cater to the
needs and preferences of your target audience.
Lesson 9: Collaboration ICT Development

In this lesson, I learned the collaborative ICT development which is the

occurrence of both constructions approaches to learning and development of the
internet has led to the development of the internet has led to the development.
Furthermore, I also learned the word CMC and Harassim who developed and now
called the OLC. I also encountered examples of online collaborative tools: the web
portal, Yammer, and especially Trello, which we learned with the help of our teacher. To
share what Trello is, it's pretty easy to use, and it's entertaining.

revolutionized various aspects of our lives, but it also comes with its fair share of
disadvantages. Firstly, one major disadvantage of ICT is the potential for privacy and
security breaches. With the increasing reliance on digital platforms and online
communication, individuals and organizations are vulnerable to cyber attacks, data
breaches, and identity theft. Hackers and cybercriminals can exploit system
vulnerabilities, compromising personal information, financial records, and confidential
data. Moreover, the interconnected nature of ICT means that a breach in one system
can have cascading effects, impacting multiple individuals and organizations, leading to
significant financial and reputational damage. Another disadvantage of ICT is the digital
divide that it creates. While technology has become more accessible over the years,
there still exists a substantial gap in access to and proficiency in ICT, particularly among
marginalized communities and developing countries. This digital divide exacerbates
existing social and economic inequalities, as those without adequate access to
technology are deprived of opportunities for education, employment, and participation in
the digital economy. Additionally, relying heavily on digital platforms can lead to a loss
of critical skills such as face-to-face communication, problem-solving, and creativity.
The overreliance on technology can hamper social interactions and diminish the
importance of human connection, leading to potential isolation and reduced
interpersonal skills.

In conclusion, despite the numerous benefits it offers, ICT has its disadvantages.
Privacy and security concerns pose a significant risk in an increasingly digital world,
requiring constant vigilance and robust cyber security measures. Furthermore, the
