The story entitled “the Mat” is a Filipino Literature the tells about typical
Filipino family culture,that represents the close family relationship,
respect for the elders and remembering the family members who passed
away.
The student involved in reading and focus on the story and be able to
retell the story.
C.1 Drills/Practices
The teacher will group the class into 6groups. Each group will show
given words from the story. Every group must have a representative
to get the first word. Afterwards in 30 seconds the representative
must memories the given words and at the count of three the
representative will start to relay it to their group. The students who
can relay the word correctly will gets a point.
Activity 2-
The teacher will give the students a task to write an essay about the
importance of respecting each other specially their parents.The
essay will be graded according to the criteria.

D. Application
The teacher will divide the class into 5 groups, and each group will be
given a copy of the “The Mat”. Afterwards each group must think
creatively and make their own ending about the story they read. Their
output will be graded according to the given criteria.
E. Generalization
The teacher will group the students into 3. The students will have a short
role playing about the story they read. The role playing activity will be
graded according to the given rubrics.
