MARGINPAR FLOWERS
Our flowers can be divided into three categories: Originals (year-round available and in large numbers),
Seasonals (available in certain seasons) and Specials (surprising ‘niche’ flowers in small numbers).
We consistently create a unique quality of summer flowers. Always stylish and rich in colour.

Originals are available in large numbers all year round.


Both beautiful fillers and exclusive flowers, that have
been cultivated with attention to detail. How about
our Clematis Amazing® series, or the Eryngium
ORIGINALS Questar® series, that are loved by florist all over
the world?
We have 45 different varieties, divided over 14 crops.

Seasonals are summer flowers, available in


certain seasons. Because we grow our flowers in
Africa, where seasons are different from the Dutch
growing season, they surprise the market at times
SEASONALS other growers can’t. The Jatropha Firecracker,
for example, or the Scabiosa Scoop® are seasonals.
We have 16 different varieties, divided over 10 crops.

Specials are niche flowers, not regularly available and


produced in small numbers. These flowers have a very
high distinctive character, florist can really distinguish
themselves from their competition using our specials.

SPECIALS The Gloriosa Rothschildiana, for instance falls into


the ‘special’ category.
We have 17 different varieties, divided over 7 crops.

AMMI VISNAGA CASABLANCA

These elegant, large summer flowers


are perfect filler flowers. The large, • • • •
white umbels stand on sturdy stems.
The flowers look a lot like lace and
are a sensational addition to any
bouquet.

ASTER DARK MILKA

Aster comes from the ancient


Greek word astere which means • • • •
star and refers to the shape of
the flower.

ASTER FLASH

The Germanic people believed that


the aroma of burnt leaves from dead • • • •
asters chased away poisonous snakes
and evil spirits for the winter.
In modern floral language, aster
stands for love and patience.

ASTRANTIA BILLION STAR®

ASTRANTIA ROMA®

From the Apiaceae or Umbelliferae


family, the name Astrantia derives • • • • •
from the Latin word ‘aster’ meaning
‘star’, which refers to the plant’s
star-shaped floral bracts.

ASTRANTIA STAR OF FIRE®

Actually, only the heart consists of


real blooms, a bunch of tiny flowers • • • • • • •
on thin stems. A kind of Biedermeier
bouquet. The wreath of ‘petals’ around
the heart consists of bracts, also
known as windings.

ASTRANTIA STAR OF FLAME®

The Dutch common name for the Astrantia


is named after a traditional piece of jewelry: • • • • • • •
‘Zeeuws Knoopje’. They were made of silver
or gold and were at the time a status
symbol: the larger the button, the richer
and more important the wearer was.

ASTRANTIA STAR OF LOVE®

The rootstock and the plant are still used


today in folk medicine as a stomach- • • • • • •
strengthening agent. Substances in
the Astrantia have a beneficial effect on
the secretion of gastric juices. It is also
used as an appetite stimulant.

ASTRANTIA STAR OF PROMISE®

That is why in English, the Astrantia


is called: Great Masterwort. The name • • • • •
would be derived from magister:
master of healing plants.

The Delphinium is a royal flower. • • • •


The long slender stems are richly
set with flowers. Up to 100 flowers
on a stem. With a vase life of up
to three weeks, it is a rewarding
cut flower for everyone.

Carnations, their real name is


Dianthus, were first cultivated by • • •
the Greeks. The word ‘dios’ refers to
the god Zeus and the word ‘anthos’
means ‘flower’. A divine flower!

The Clematis Amazing® Toronto was


introduced in 2016 and has a beautiful dark • • • •

in small numbers. Cultivation is not easy
and labour-intensive, just like the Tokyo.

GLORIOSA ROTHSCHILDIANA

The Gloriosa Rothschildiana, a member of


the lily family, comes from East Africa and • • • • •
Asia. It is the most popular Gloriosa lily and is
also called the ‘flame lily’ due to the yellow-red
combination. This characteristic flower
comes to full bloom and has a long vase life.

This orange-red Gloriosa is supplied from

This characteristic flower comes to full bloom

Polianthes Pink Sapphire grows in

its sweet smell, extracts are often used
in perfumery. Pink Sapphire distinguishes
itself by a beautiful soft tone color.
