LEARNING TASK 2 Let’s Travel!

Let the students identify the modal verbs used in the different rules and
regulations and health and safety protocols in some of the tourist spots
that allow non-residents to explore the amazing places they can offer
during this time of the pandemic. After identifying the modals, the
students will answer the question below and use modals in their
sentences. They will be also told not to be afraid of answering and making
sentences since they will be guided by the teacher.

This activity will enhance their knowledge about modals while being
exposed to the real-world scenarios presented in each presentation and
later connect them to the lesson.

The sentences constructed by the students will be gathered as sample

sentences and used to discuss the Modals of Permission, Prohibition, and
Obligation. These sentences will be placed in the diagram. In this part, the
teacher uses an inductive approach. An inductive approach involves the
learners detecting or noticing patterns and working out a 'rule' for
themselves before practicing the language. They started with the most
specific details (which is gathering examples from the students using a
presentation of different tourist spots in the Philippines) and identified
which examples are matched with the Modals of Permission, Prohibition,
and Obligation. (https://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/article/inductive-approach#:~:text=An
