CNW Lab 2 - Sample Protocols
HTTP – ensure both HTTP and HTTPS services are on at the Server
IP – assign IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS to the server and
other devices (server, router and PC)
For PC and Server – Click at Desktop tab > IP Configurations
Follow the numbers below:
Test the connectivity from PC to Web Server either using Add Simple PDU or
Ping command
Check the result. All ping should be successful. If not, troubleshoot the network to
find the problem.
Check HTTP connection through Web Browser in the PC. Below page should be
displayed
Configure IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS for the new PC
and Server
Ensure both SMTP (sending email) and POP3 (receiving email) services are on
Configure Email Services (at the email server) – set email domain and create 2
email account with username and password. Example: student and lecturer
Add the new domain name (gmail.com) to DNS server – in the Web Server
Configure email in PC0 and PC1. Assuming PC0 is lecturer and PC1 I student
Try sending email from lecturer / student account. Received email should be
visible in the mailbox
