IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction What I need to know?
 The learners will do the walkthrough of the lesson expectations.
 In this part, the content of the lesson will be presented.
 Learning objectives will also be introduced to guide the learners on the learning targets founded on the
KSAV principles.
What is new?
 The learners will answer Learning Task 1.
 They will study the signages in the diagram and describe the meaning of each symbol as indicated in
the given options.
 After answering the activity, they may ask their parents, guardians, and housemates to help them come
up with other signages they are familiar with and ask them to explain what those symbols mean. They
may draw one signage in their notebook and label it.

What is it?
 To strengthen the points of their personal reflection and further develop their knowledge about modals
based from the What I know? activity, the learners will proceed with reading and personal discussion on
the different types of modals according to use on pp. 8-9.
 The learners will summarize what they learned about modals using the table below.

What’s more?
 The learners will answer Learning Task 4.
 After completing the dialogue, they will be asked to practice with a household member and to record the
conversation using a cellphone recorder. The recorded output shall be sent to the teacher’s Messenger
or shall be shared by any guardian using Bluetooth or Share It during the retrieval date.

F. Engagement
 To further the understanding of modals when used in real-life contexts, the learners will identify the
modals used in the sample Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in Learning Task 8, pp. 14 – 15.
 Guide questions will be given to learners to aid them during the activity.
What else can I do?
 The learners will answer Activity Sheet 1 and 2. These are localized tasks serving as supplementary
materials for the targeted MELC.
What I have learned?
 The learners will answer Activity Sheet 3 that aims to measure the overall understanding of the
learners with regard to modals. The activity instructs the learners to construct their own sentences
