GUIDELINES FOR BROADCAST MEDIA STUDENT INTERNSHIP


(Revised May 15, 2014)

1. All schools and colleges are required to prepare an official letter of


endorsement with the list of qualified Senior Generalist Mass
Communications students and Mass Communications students with Major
in Broadcasting addressed to :

MR. REYNALDO H. HULOG

2. Letters of endorsements can be submitted on the following dates:

SEMESTER DUE DATE

Summer April 7-15


First May 30
Second October 30
Note:
The above schedule will be revised later to accommodate
schools who will adopt the September calendar.

3. The KBP National Office will issue the endorsement letter for internship
addressed to the radio/TV station after the said endorsement from the
school reflecting the list of qualified students by the Internship Coordinator
is submitted. KBP will process the endorsement letters as well sign and
stamp with the KBP official dry seal the accomplished Internship Program
Evaluation Report only on the following days and time:

DAY TIME

Monday - 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. / 1:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.


Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m./ 1:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Friday - 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m./ 1:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

4. KBP encourages all schools to have their endorsement requests on the
days listed above. However, exceptions will be given to schools situated
outside of Metro Manila.

5. Students must first inquire at the station where he/she or intends to have
his/her internship. The station manager or internship coordinator will
confirm the schedule of internship available and the number of students to
be accommodated. No student will be endorsed in any station unless
confirmed by the said station’s internship coordinator.

6. The endorsement letter addressed to MR. REYNALDO H. HULOG, KBP


Executive Director, should be written in the school’s official stationary with
the following information:

a. Name/s of student intern/s


b. Total number of internship hours required
c. Name of station where the students have a confirmed
internship slot
d. Name and signature of the Internship Coordinator or
Department Head/Dean

7. KBP will not issue an endorsement unless item 1- 5 are accomplished

8. Individual or group endorsement letters to stations together with the


Internship Program Evaluation Report and Internship ID will be released to
the school’s internship coordinator, student interns and or the school or
the student intern’s authorized representative/s. Each student interns will
pay Php 50.00 to cover the cost and processing of the IDs and evaluation
forms.

9. Student interns will be allowed to undertake their internship, one station at


a time. The maximum training hours are as follows :

 Major in Broadcast 100 hrs. 100 hrs.

10. If the station, for some reason, cannot accommodate the student/s,
he/she can request the KBP staff-in-charge for re-assignment in another
station. He/she will then be re-assigned to another station immediately.
However, if no station can accommodate the said intern/s, the student
intern/s must wait until a slot in a station becomes available.

11. Stations should not allow any student to undergo training without an
authentic official endorsement letter from the KBP. Any student who
underwent training without first securing the KBP’s official
endorsement will have his/her accomplished training hours forfeited.

12. Once the student intern completes his/her training/practicum, the station’s
Internship Supervisor shall accomplish and sign the said student/s
Internship Program Evaluation Report/s.

13. The accomplished student’s Internship Program Evaluation Report must


be submitted to the KBP National Office for evaluation and validation.
After the internship Report is validated, it will be signed by the KBP’s
authorized signatories and the KBP’s official dry seal will be affixed.

14. All schools must make certain that all their students Internship Program
Evaluation Reports are signed and sealed by the KBP. An Internship
Program Evaluation Report without KBP’s official signature and dry
seal is invalid.
