Lesson: `Questions and answers with past simple`

Type of lesson: Lesson of communication of new knowledge

Aims:

 To develop and practice questions and answers with past simple

 To involve students in conversation

 To raise interest in the topic

 To have fun while learning English

Objectives

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

 Achieve the grammatical form of past simple in questions and answers


 Know the word order of past simple in a question
 To practice past simple questions and answers in speaking form
 To practice the new language structure
Time: 45 minutes

Aids: textbook, notebook, worksheet, pc, speakers, smartboard,

Methods used: conversation, example, classification, dialogue, explanation, demonstration.

Assumptions:

 They should know in English the formation and use of past simple

Anticipated problems:

 If students do not understand the oral command or the task, this will be translated into
Romanian.

ORGANIZATION OF THE CLASS

Time: 2 min
Aims:
-T prepares students for the English lesson, the teacher creates the specific
atmosphere, asking the children about how do they feel today. T prepares the
necessary aids. The students get ready for the English class.
Using English at the beginning of the lesson creates an `English language
atmosphere`, establishing connection between the teacher and the students, and helps
the students feel relaxed.

Teacher’s task: greets the Ss and makes sure that T- Ss


everything is in order for the lesson to begin. Ss- T 2 min

Aims: to get the students familiar with the topic and what they will do during the
lesson
-to review past simple forms

Teacher’s task: In order to introduce the new topic, T
makes a short revision of the past tense simple. He T- Ss
reminds the Ss of the two categories of verbs in T-S 5 min
English. He classifies some verbs on the board. Ss- T
He asks two Ss to come and write two sentences in the Writing
past tense. The rest of the class should pay attention. Revision

With the help of the Ss, T makes a short revision of
negatives with past simple and transforms the
sentences in the negative form. T raises interest of
how to transform the two sentences into questions.
