THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDYING THE PHILIPPINE HISTORY

The Philippines has a very complicated history. A lot of things happened since the start but as we all
know, everything happens for a reason and I believe that most of these things shaped the Philippines as to
what it is now. Here are some importance of studying the History of the Philippines. First, you have to study the
past to gain more knowledge to deal with the problems that may arise in the present. It is important to study the
past because we might encounter problems and it might help us solve problems that we might face in the
present or in the future since these problems might already have a solution. Second, looking back at our roots
as a Filipino will give us knowledge about our identity, culture and traditions. The Philippines has a very
complex culture and very famous traditions that are known worldwide. Knowing these will help us understand
how the Philippines grew and how it came to be the Philippines we now know. Third, it is better to know some
history rather than false history. In our generation now, fake news is really common and even history can be
fake so that’s why it is important to know some history rather than false because you need to know the facts so
that we can avoid misinformation. Fourth, since you are a resident and a citizen of the Philippines, you need to
be aware of your surroundings. Even though a lot has happened, the Philippines is still surrounded by history
and Filipinos know that. So it is important to study the history for you to be aware of your surroundings and for
you to know how to respect them. Lastly, we have to learn so that we can learn from the mistakes of the past to
apply it in the present to have a better future.
