I. OBJECTIVES At the end of lesson, learners are expected to:

1. Identify the differences between:
a) scalar and vector;
b) speed and velocity; and,
c) distance and displacement.
2. Understand the uses of formulas in motion such as finding
the velocity, distance and time; and
3. Relate the importance of Motion in real-life activities.
A. Content Standards In this lesson, the learners will demonstrate an experiments about
velocity, distance and time. They will also use related formulas in
Motion as they gather data based on their experiments.
B. Performance Standards The learners will explore concept of Motion using different
materials as they compute for the velocity of moving objects.
CLMD4A – Budget of Work (BOW) SCI7 pp. 97-98
C. Most Essential Learning 1. Describe the motion of an object in terms of distance and
Competencies (MELC) displacement (S7FE - IIIa – 1).
2. Describe the motion of an object in terms of speed, velocity,
and acceleration (S7FE - IIIa – 1)
D. Enabling Competencies Enhance their skills in problem solving of motion’s different
formulas and doing experimentation of moving objects through
computation.

IV.PROCEDURES
What I need to know?
A. Introduction  The learners will define important words in the new lesson
and they will also understand the concept of different
formulas in Motion.
 In this part, the content of the lesson will be presented.
 Learning objectives will also be introduced to guide the
learners on the learning targets founded.
What’s new?
 Directions: Define each word.
1) Physics 6) Acceleration
2) Scalar 7) Position
3) Vector 8) Motion
4) Speed 9) Direction
5) Velocity 10)Give 1 Physicist and his/her contribution
in Physics
Everything around us moves. In Science, movement is referred as
motion. Motion covers a wide range of definitions. It does not just
explain how far the object moves but also describes how fast and
to what direction it goes.
Variables Symbols SI Units Examples
1. speed s m/s or km/hr 5m/s
velocity v 10km/hr
2. a m/s² or km/hr² 9.8m/s²
acceleration 100km/hr²
3. time t s or hr 10s
5hr
4. distance d m or km 75m
200km

What I know?
B. Development  Direction: Learners will draw/create a map of their houses
to school.

 Direction: Learners will solve different problem which that

let allows them to figure out what velocity, distance and
time a person or object has.
VARIABLES FORMULAS
1. velocity v = _d_
t
2. distance d=vt
3. time t = _t_
v
4. acceleration a = Vi – Vf
t

What’s in?
C. Engagement  Direction: Solve the problem by finding what is being
asked.
Answer the following by using the GFSFASI
(Give, Formula, Solution, Final Answer and SI Unit)
1. A man carries a box and pushes it in 192m and 325s. How fast
does he move?
2. The car travels 15m/s in 65s. How far does it take to travel?
3. A toy car is moving 7m/s in 93m. How long does a car move?
What is it?
 EXPERIMENT (Performance Task):
 Direction: Learners will be divided into 5 groups. They will
perform an experiment using different objects to compute
the velocity, distance and time. Activity sheets with
instructions will be given to each group.
Materials:
 toy car
 marbles
 meter sticks
 chalks
 doll/robot
 ball

What have I learned?

D. Assimilation  Upon learning the Motion, the learners will answer the
following situations identifying the effect of force through:
a) start moving
b) stop moving
c) change in direction

What can I do? (Assessment)
 The learners will have a formative test and submit
documentation of themselves performing experiments on
observing objects that moves in specific velocity, distance
and time.

The learner communicates the explanation of their personal

V. REFLECTION assessment as indicated in the Learner’s Assessment Card.
The learner, in their notebook, will write their personal insights
about the lesson using the prompts below.
