Seongchan: It would be great to work in a field that you like. You must travel
often, then?
Ji-yeon: I haven’t traveled a lot. I’ve traveled to Southeast Asia about five times.
One of those trips was a backpacking trip by myself.
Seongchan: You’re so brave! I would be too scared and take a friend with me if
I did that.
Ji-yeon: It’s not that scary, actually. When you travel alone, there are a lot of
things to learn and emotions to feel. What kind of stuff do you usually
draw?
Seongchan: Well, it depends on the job that comes in. Here’s my business card.

*어떻게 VERB + -아/어/여요? literally means “ How do you VERB? ” but it can
also mean “ How could you VERB? ” depending on the context. Whereas, if
you say 어떻게 -(으)ㄹ 수가 있어요?, it literally means “ How could you even
VERB? ” and it expresses your surprise or annoyance more.
