(a) 𝑓(𝑥) = (𝑥 − 𝑎)𝑚 (𝑥 − 𝑏)𝑛 , where m and n are positive integers, in the interval [a,b]. (b) 𝑓(𝑥) = 𝑥(𝑥 − 3)2 on [0,3]. (c) 𝑓(𝑥) = sin 𝑥 − sin 2𝑥on [0, 𝜋].
4. Verify Mean value theorem in the following cases
(𝑎)𝑓(𝑥) = 2𝑥 2 − 10𝑥 + 29, on [2,7] (𝑏)𝑓(𝑥) = √(𝑥 2 − 4) on [2,4], (c) 𝑓(𝑥) = 𝑒 𝑥 on [0,1]
6. Find the area of the region bounded by the given curves
𝑥 = 𝑎 cos 3 𝑡 ,𝑦 = 𝑏 sin3 𝑡 , 0 ≤ 𝑡 ≤ 2𝜋. 7. Find the volume of the solid of revolution generated by revolving the region bounded by 𝑦 = 𝑥 2 + 1 and 𝑦 = 3 − 𝑥about the x-axis.
