Abstract

This document discusses synchronization and loading of engine- or turbine-driven electrical


generator systems. Both traditional and state-of-the-art methods are included. In addition, this
document reviews elements of synchronization and synchronizing equipment. Techniques for
bumpless paralleling, soft loading and unloading, derating, peak load control, and import and
export control also are discussed.
